How insulting to our hard working , under paid doctors and nurses, who deserve better conditions and pay. Hope they have your name on their list when they wheel you in dear.

A proper wage is all. My sister is 25yrs old midwife here in Scotland she makes over £36000 a year for not a lot of hrs. It seems that Israeli medics get less money than unskilled labourers do in Scotland. How can this be fair?

While "permanent" doctors often limit themselves to doing what is required of them as the minimum, it is the Residents who carry out the brunt of hospital doctors' responsibilities. The system is sick, which I witnessed first hand when I worked at a hospital in Petah Tiqva. The permanent doctors disappear as early as they can and run to their high paying halturot, while Residents stay behind without counting the hours. I have no doubt patients will suffer greatly if Residents carry out their threat to strike.

If there are no doctors, Israel will be a welfare state, and many people will leave. All of the things I complained about when I was in Israel are now coming to a head.

I getting sick of these protests, everyday it brings out somebody new with a new demand. The medical workers did a deal with the government and now they all have to accept that deal even if they don't like it.
