1. Foreign Goverment Involvment
Mary Snow ,   USA   (09.03.11)
According to JPOST the supreme court forced the Railways and Trains to put extra buses on for the rally. The supreme court is making this decision? If this doesn't prove that there is some outside foreign government involvement in these protests nothing will. The court system is so corrupt that there needs to be a major overhaul to make sure that politics stay out of the court system and a true check and balance system is set up in Israel. There really needs to be an investigation of who is funding these organizations who is paying for these trains and buses someone is? Want to bet that is not another country paying for this to overthrow the current Israeli government.

4. Nothing will transpire from this
Sagi   (09.03.11)
Israeli politicians are pachydermal. They are completely oblivious to the requirements necessary to run and conduct a modern democratic society. They are impervious to the desires and basic needs of the normal run of the mill citizen. I do not advocate violence and I certainly do not wish for anarchy but this country is incapable of undergoing a "quiet revolution" for the reason that I have stated in my opening words. The alternatives are two. One is the ballot box contingent upon a large party whose motto is change, and that they not only mean it but are capable of convincing the electorate of such. I doubt this option will ever happen. The second is to physically sit in front of the Knesset, Prime Minister's residence and President's residence and demand their removal and the removal of all Ministers. The setting up of an emergency interim Government of no more than ten people to run the country for a period of six months. During these six months a Constitution should be drafted and approved by referendum. The most important clause in this Constitution should be the absolute separation of State and Religion. The second most important clause should be the right of every citizen, no matter what his religion or ethnicity, to enjoy social security and dignity throughout his or her lifetime. This has nothing to do with Capitalism versus Socialism. Markets must remain free and taxes as low as possible. Until this country has a Constitution that all its citizens live by and honor, including elected officials, the social problems will continue and the gap will increase. Action is required in the correct venues, not in Rothschild Blvd. and not in the town square.
5. Go after what you really want. Freedom from oppression.
Josh   (09.03.11)
Israeli brothers and sisters. Go after what you really want. Freedom from oppression. Free markets and truly uncensored, unrestricted right to be friends with who you want. Right to equal opportunity. Right to go out to a bar and not be monitored by big brother cameras that have nothng to do with crime prevention, right to no have to participate in barogus protexia, right to not fear retribution for being you, right to not feel guilty for the simple pleasure in life, right to laugh and rejoice like all other nations do without someone barking up your tree. Go after what you really want. Topple the monopoly stranglehold on free entreprose and eliminbate the mafia ruling party and manager networks. Get back Israel from the heathens that participate in human trafficing and drug smuggling world wide and make it our Jewish state, not theirs. A race free home for ALL Jews. Ask for what you really want and break your shakels now. Moses and G-d would be proud of a people standing against evil and standing for good. You know what is right in your hearts, do not continue down the path these Mongers who strangle your people have laid before you. Peace to the "good" brothers and sisters that refuse to make Israel a sour place for returning Jews. Moses married a midinate and no one adjusted his work hours or shun him because of it. It is Jewish to be humane. What they force upon you is not what you must accept.
6. #3 No it doesn't. It only looks like it does.
Adam   (09.03.11)
The country is ruled by social regulation and the government rides somewhere in the stratospjere away from the people. The country is ruled by thugs and people are greatly discourage in going to the proper government about anything. Not that the police do their job effectively or venely for all races and people. Protexia rules Israel and it is ruled by a few. These few need to be brough to the democracy courts and jailed. Until then, Israel is ruled by a shadow govenment that hires enforces as trouble shooters and THEY rule. Tourist views of Israel are FALSE. What you see is not what you get. Find this out when you stop being a tourist and they classify you as a worker. Almost all Americans leave and protexia is what is intentionally driving them out. It is power and there is really no throne of Democracy.

Chaim ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (09.03.11)
Interesting that you in the US know so much about what is happening here in Israel. Stop talking nonsense. There is no foreign government involvement in the the protests. People here are tired and want a basic standard of living for all who live and work here. Nothing corrupt about that. If you care that much, make aliya and work here for the better of a country that you care about. Otherwise, maybe you in the US could learn something from the protests here.
8. This is a country that outlawed workers fallling in love
Ross   (09.03.11)
They have an uphill battle. This is country that policed and expelled workers from the country for falling in love with each other (after these poor third world workers amassed huge money to get to Israel), expelled their children separating mother and child, and jailed Arab lovers for the high charge of rape for telling a partner he was Jewish (even though it is highly unlikely the girl of such a closed society could not figure this out by asking around or that if she let it be know she was interested in such man, that people would not research and tell her he is Arab). She only needed to ask what neighborhood he lived in? Heavy handed and cruel, the foreigners are the lucky ones as the regulation of the native people is done with no less merciless tactics or uneven application of laws. The Sephardi rhetoric and private wars against Ashkenazim decent Jews and the business deals with Russian kingpins are just a few of the flavors of the villainy that has been going on unbeknown to world Jews. Visa versa, the Askanzim and their shunning of Sephardic school girls and the treatment of Ethiopians children. Lets not forget the virtually non-black workforces in high tech. I tried hiring a very talented black worker and they wouldn't let me. Yes Israel has a long and uphill battle and unless they get serious, Torah has already outlined their future as grim. If they don't turn it around, I would list this and only this as the best reason to bail from the land before the storm. Good luck cleaning it up. As the movie Dogville ends, the words, "not now Tom" come to mind as a possible future according to Torah. G-d rules Israel and he watches it closely.

What makes you a authority on foreign governments involvement. How do you know for sure? If you read my past post you would have known I support some of the reforms as long as a real estate bubble does not bust and that building is allowed in Judea and Samaria. Rent controls are needed. Foreign interference is not democracy. As far as my background I was in the 73 war how about you? Also I have seen what a real estate bubble is how about you do you want to bankrupt millions of Israeli middle class families when their mortgage is more than the worth of their houses? In my opinion this is being done to pressure Israel because of the September PA UN Bid. Ask yourself how are these massive protest being paid for?
10. Rome's Moguls Still Rule from Caesarea
David A ,   Jerusalem Israel   (09.03.11)
2000 years ago Rome ruled the land of Israel from Caesarea in a cruel callous and immoral manner and nothing has changed only the characters . Instead of Roman occupied multi million dollar villas our own "leaders" politicians business and MEDIA moguls reside in the villas perpetuating the old Roman pacifier of rule by"Bread & Circuses" keep the masses uneducated and entertained so as to feed the greed of these moguls "Let them Eat Cake" said Marie Antoinette.Lets hope the million march takes place and they shudder with their cocktails in hand as they look down from their Ramat Aviv penthouses in horror,

government thatthinks it knows what is best for the public. We need to cut the size of government. We need laws that will protect the rights of the workers from greedy owners and management. We need to free the country from the histadrut union and its favoritism to rich unions. The histradrut and workers councils are the iron heel on the neck of the minimum wage earners.

Chaim (#7), I live in Israel for more than 30 years and learned a long time ago that ALL protests in Israel are political and funded by 'the other side'. Where do you think the money is coming from to set up tonight's 'demonstration' ? The cost will come to several million NIS when you include 'free' bus transportation from all over the country, overtime pay for several thousand Police/MDA/Fire personnel, printing of signs, sound systems covering several km's, stages, lighting, hotel expenses for 'dignitaries', etc., etc. "Nothing corrupt about it" ?? Chaim, check how much money the New Israel Fund has poured into these protests so far, where they receive funding from and what efforts they currently support (J-Street, B'Tzelem, Peace Now to name a few). I too, am sick and tired of high rentals, 7.5 NIS/Liter gas and 5.5 NIS cottage cheese (down from the previous price of nearly 8 NIS). But I also realize that the rentals have more to do with a free market economy than what the main stream media in Israel have been feeding us forever - that it's because of the "occupied territories". The fact is, if 400,000 'settlers' had to move back within the green line, it would certainly increase the cost of rentals and home/apartment ownership. So long as some 20 families own more than 90% of Israel's wealth, nothing will change. Sadly, you and I will continue to pay more and more for less and less until those families have everything and we have nothing. I for one do not want to return to a "Medinat Revacha", where one needed to be Ashkenazi, a red-card carrying member of the Histadrut, with an account in Bank Hapoalim and Clalit Health Care member to get a decent job. Enjoy the party tonight. I heard Eya Golan, Dag Nachash and Ethnics will be putting on a good show. If I lived near Kikar Hamdina, I’d be selling cold bottles of Coca-Cola for 10 NIS each out of the back of my truck.
