van der Sanden ,   limassol cyprus   (09.03.11)
Erdogan is dangerous just like Hitler in 1939 he is not interested in the Palestinians or Gaza nor is he interested in some kind of apologie from Israel all he wants is to expand Turkeys control over other nations . Since 1974 Turkey is occupying part of Cyprus nothwithstanding the U.N. Security Council resolutions so all his talk about legality etc. is nothing but a lot of hot air, his main interest is getting his hands on our offshore gasdeposits. I just hope for once the E.U. and the U.S. will stand up to another upcoming tyrant. concerned EU citizen
32. #17 don't be sure
Emre ,   Istanbul   (09.03.11)
We as Turks are ready to die for justice. Are you guys are ready to die for your fake democracy ? It is fake because everyday Israel is getting more nationalist and religious. They vote for radicals in Israel. I'm sure in the next election you will Choose Lieberman the neonazi for presidency. I think you need to find a leader like Peres which you can not find with this stupidness for the next 100 years.
33. I suggest you research the Turkish Air Force
Ibrahim   (09.03.11)
We have the same equipment in the same numbers!
34. The Game of Chicken
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodUSA   (09.03.11)
Can we all envision a battle between Turkish warships and Israeli ships and F16Is. Israel has the advantage..if close to its shores. And if any ship attempts to break the blockade..that ship is history...of course Israel could simply reoppupy the Strip...then make all this moot. Or hit the Strip 24-7 with sorties like NATO did against Libya. Turkey is history as far as the EU and perhaps NATO. An effort should be now made to get it expelled from NATO, which is a moribund group anyway. Turkey is postering..looking for leaderhip in the Muslim world..while Egypt is in termoil as well as Syria. Iran wont take on Israel w/o nukes ( is hiding its centrifuges to that end). Sooner or later, this will come to a head...and hopefully the US will support Israel..but im not sure? Again, Israel must rethink its Samson Option policy...if Turkey gets too aggressive. It has the weapons..but not the will or stomach. The protests now in Israel are giving fuel to Turkey, Iran, Hez/Hamas..and the Muslim Brotherhood, while simpletons smile on TV justifiying same ( cottage cheese and stroller problems?). The problem is Turkey bombarding Israeli cities from the sea. To Israel: its about playing chicken...whomever flinches first. Get it. You have 500 nukes..so what the problem?
35. You guys do not know something
Roody ,   NY / USA   (09.03.11)
You think Israel has power to fight with Turkey, that is fine but do not forget one thing. 70 million Islamist people in Turkey is ready to die. Dying in a war for them is a pleasure. So we don't speak logic here. Be careful guys. You are playing with the fire !
36. #3 if only he had challenged the legal siege with warships
observer ,   Egypt   (09.03.11)
things would have been turned 180 degrees and the siege would be world-wide known as ILLEGAL. folly Erdogan!, might is right.
37. casus belli
observer ,   Egypt   (09.03.11)
Turkey has NATO's second largest armed forces and the world's 10th largest. Turkey plans to construct nuke plant in Cyprus. The agreement on the exchange of Iranian low-enriched uranium in the Turkish territory has been a blow to Israel. Israel seeks conflict.
38. MADNESS
PS ,   USA   (09.03.11)
This is the true face of radical islam. In a region on the edge, Turkey is thowing gas on the fire. And the UN and NATO sits by as these radicals lite the match.
39. Turkish Genocide Part Two
Steven Kantor ,   L.A USA   (09.03.11)
Israel should immediately refer Turkey to the International Court of Justice for its barbaric practice of bombing peaceful Kurdish villages in Iraq and other neighboring counties. Not only do they deny the Kurd's legitimate and historical claims to a homeland, but they invade neighboring countries, in full disregard to international law, in order to hunt and kill innocent Kurds.
40. Watch out Cyprus
Christofides ,   Greece   (09.03.11)
Just an excuse to support the Turkish Cypriots take over Cyprus
41. Time to recognize Armenian Genocide!
Mark ,   J-lem   (09.03.11)
And more than that appeal to ICJ about that. We had all the reasons to do it before. And even more now. BTW, it would be nice to elevate Kurds massacres to ICJ. Lieberman it is your move.
42. 13#
Sam M ,   UK   (09.03.11)
They will be remembered for savagely attacking IDF commandos who were enforcing a legal blockade preventing arms from reaching a terrorist state and they chose confrontation instead thereby endangering the lives of Israeli soldiers. It was their choice and I personally have no sympathy for them at all. If the turkish government attempts to break the gaza blockade Israel should take all neccessary steps to ensure they dont succeed. Showing weakness will only embolden Israel's enemies. Hopefully it wont lead to conflict but if it does the IDF will prove more than a match for the turkish armed forces. How about printing the names of Kurds who have been killed by successive turkish governments. They number in the tens of thousands and are far more deserving of sympathy than these fanatics....
43. turkey seems desperate to start a war
tiger ,   Vienna, Austria   (09.03.11)
turkey's latest actions are very questionable for the stability of the region this country seems to get more and more radical by the minute while pretending to be democratic, radical islamic powers are steadily gaining momentum and this is very disturbing
44. Islam as co-existent religion, NOT Islamist Totalitarianism.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.03.11)
45. #32 you make me laugh
Mattan ,   Merritt Island,USA   (09.03.11)
Turks are worried about threats to Israel's democracy? Really? Turkey is already an undemocratic Islamic Fascist Regime. Erdogan and his cronies, if they continue down this path, will face the same outcome as the rest of the tyrants of the world. And Leiberman will make a perfect prime minister one day. Then the flotilla incident would have been seen as an act of agression by the Turkish government, which it was. Every time a muslim country starts war with Israel, they lose, why is your country so stupid as to follow the path that has failed so many before you? I'm glad your country men are so willing to die as you say, if your government keeps this up, you may just get your wish. All you know how to do is die. Another self righteous martyr. To live in peace with your neighbors is obviously not in your genetic code.
46. It was Turkey that requested, and received, a UN...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.03.11)
...investigation of the flotilla, a year and a half ago. And now that the investigation is over and Israel was found to have acted lawfully in maintaining the sea blockade of Gaza, and of preventing ships attempting to break the lawful blockade, the Turks are still not pleased. The Turks, it should be noted, actively participated in the attempt to break the lawful blockade and have been direct collaborators of the IHH, a group which is recognized internationally as an Islamist terror organization and one that assists regularly similar organizations such as Hamas and Islamic Jihad. If anyone needs to apologize here is Turkey of course and no one else. But, Turky's interest is neither Gaza nor the flotilla or for that matter the mass slaughter that we witness daily throughout the Muslim-Arab world in which many thousands of children, the elderly, men and women are murdered by their own fellow Muslims. These have been excuses, pretexts in advancing Turkey's strategy of spreading its hegemony throughout the Muslim and Arab Middle East, eager to recreate the days of the Ottoman Empire, and siding with the Muslim-Arabs against the Jews, Israel that is, is a way to promote Turkey's position in the eyes of those eager to see Israel's demise.
47. Kurds? # 13
nva ,   jerusalem   (09.03.11)
If what you say is true then Erdogan and Turkey are the ones who are 200% responsible for their deaths...Let me put it this way...Hamas sends missiles into Israeli civilian homes...then grabs and hides behind their own women and children when Israel rightfully retaliates.........you dont get it do you? Turkey sent Kurds ??? to provoke and break a legal international blockade, armed them with knives and rods, knowing full well they may be killed in the battle that would ensue???. These Turkish leaders who hate the Kurds, are the ones who need to pay.. This is the most disgusting despicable thing i have seen in this whole issue.. How DARE YOU SUGGEST THAT ISRAEL MUST PAY FOR THE DEATH TRAP YOUR LEADERS PURPOSELY PUT THESE PEOPLE IN. MY GOD !!
48. Turkey must apologize
luigie ,   jerusalem   (09.03.11)
Can somebody tell me when will the Turkish goverment appologize for the massacare and genocide of more than 1 million Armenians.......I mean if Israel has to appologize for its soldiers defending themselves against terrorist.....I would think its only fare.
49. #33 but we have God promise....you dont.

52. #Standing
Zorba ,   Athens   (09.03.11)
Kurds must ask ICJ to endorse their fear of being treated as Armenians; so ICJ to declare Kurdish rights to break away from Turkey to establish Free Kurdistan.
53. Armenian Holocaust denier Turkey to challenge Gaza blockade
Robert Levita ,   Thornhill, Canada   (09.03.11)
54. Dear Turkey don´t forget please
Yoav ,   Germany   (09.03.11)
that you have a lot of open account with greeks, armenians, kurds and now you looking for war with you AKP party to start war against Jewish state. I gess if you start the war against us, you country will desappered from the world map.
55. #2 and17
Atheist Turk ,   Germany   (09.03.11)
#2: The Zero Problem With Neigbours policy turned to a Zero Neighbours polciy for Turkey. Thanks to Davutoglu we have no friends anymore. It´s time for him to resign. #17: Cevdet Kiliclar Kurdish and from Tunceli? He is from Kayseri and was very well known. My wife is from Kayseri. Oh, yes. I do not want war between any country in the ME. I hope Turkey will calm down and a new, friendlier policy towards Israel will be established. Davutoglu´s provocations against Israel are calculated. He wants to be the hero of the Arab World, while at the same time he does not care about Turkey´s interests.
56. Turkey alliance not worth a dime
norbus ,   Jerusalem   (09.03.11)
Seems to me Turkey was prepared to betray Israeli secrets to Iran; Edrogan delusional desperate and dangerous, as he casts around for a cause having been shut out of EU. Israel can't ignore his warnings and must prepare for worse.
57. #43 Go back to your waltz
Emre ,   Istanbul   (09.03.11)
You dont know anything about what is happening in ME.
58. Intrigue
Miao   (09.03.11)
Fascinating, isn't it, that through the months of diplomatic communications between Israel in Turkey preceding the 2010 flotilla, Turkey didn't mention to Israel that they don't accept the legality of the Gaza blockade. I wonder why not...
59. The usual idiotic comments...
Me   (09.03.11)
The usual idiotic comments from the ignorant far-right and bully israel apologists in the US and elsewhere... Israeli officials are far too much immature to recognize that the assault over the flotilla was heavy handed and botched: they are too childish to do the right thing, apologize for the way it turned, and in fine they are completely responsible for the current situation and the deterioration of these two countries relations.
60. #51 We are muslim but not an islamic country
Emre ,   Istanbul   (09.03.11)
Our country is ruled with secularism for the last 88 years. So older than your chick country. It is a pity that your government is making you alone and bring Israel to a very dangerous path . You Israelis can not understand the new ME strategy and what the hell is going on in ME. But you will learn dont worry. We will teach you what leadership is and what justice is.
