Did you notice about 400,000 Israelis protesting their government yesterday? Do they seem scared to you? Read a few op-eds on this site, or other Israeli news sites. Did you notice how often Israeli journalists criticize their own governments? Do they seem scared? Back here on planet Earth that's called freedom of speech, and it is very dissimilar from Hezbolla. Your comparison is, in fact, an insult to the Lebanese people who live with real fear.

Who is surprised by this story? Anybody? When the PLO controlled the Southern portion of Lebanon they used the same tactics, even worse according to many documented reports. Hezbo founded in 1982, just took over where the PLO and Arafat left off. That's the nature of most Arab governments, they trade one tyrant for another, and call it a revolution. But the facts on the ground never change, only the people who do the brutalizing. Same crap, new name. The Lebanese people need to rise up and throw out Hezbo, they are your true tyrants. Israel is your only friend, your just to dumb to realize it. Israel wants peace, not war, and would help rebuild your country, what used to be called the Paris of the Middle East, was destroyed by your leaders hatred of Israel. Wake up and smell the coffee. Drop the hate, and build a great country, or continue on the road your on. Your choice?

The rather loose restrictions on Arab press freedoms under Israeli control essentially ended when Arafat took over with his Tunisian buddies. There too reporters engage in self-censorship, not just to maintain access, but to preserve their safety. One sees this both in the Italian reporter's apology that the lynching of two IDF soldiers had been reported, as well as the regular captures of journalists in Hamas-ruled Gaza. As to Lebanon, this too is nothing new. It's been known at least since the days of Green Helmet Man during the war in 2006.

Have you ever been to Israel? Clearly not. The Israeli govt doesn't need to terrorize its citizens (Jews, Muslims, or Christians) into obedience. We're all happy to have a booming democracy. Kay, you should do a little bit of research before you think you're anti-israel.
