If you take more notice reading the talkbacks, than for amusement and a laugh , then you need to make an appointment with the shrink. Turks are not Arabs, and have as a people mostly got on well with Jews Erdogan must be having a lot of trouble at home, and this is a great way to deflect them. EU, Economy, Kurds, Backing losers like Assad, Ahmadenijad, Mashal, & so on
65. fueling
eric ,   ukraine   (09.06.11)
I wonder whether Jews know or not that they are gaining more and more haters even of the ordinary people at the world. And their politicians are just adding fuel to the fire.

JUDAH THE LION   (09.06.11)
Omar, Turkey became friends with Israel because your brothers & sisters which are called Arabs, have stabbed the Ottoman Empire at the back to ther infidel the BRITISH EMPIRE. No one can trust you.The Arabs will stab the Turkish once more, when they dont need the Turks

68. Well said, Ehud!
A ,   Belgium   (09.06.11)
"We have our differences, but in differences too it is important that both sides act using their heads and not their gut " So when are YOU going to start using YOUR head instead of your obviously well-fed gut? When Turkish jets are bombing Tel Aviv, and rockets are falling on Ashdod and Haifa? Why don't you just quit, which you are obviously so good at doing?
69. Eric ukraine no 65
(09.06.11)
Jews were always the scapegoat, and been abused, killed, etc,.in Europe & Arab lands for many years.Jews were without Countrty for 2000 years.Israel was occupied. Now we are free on our land and we will defend our land to our last drop of blood. Many people hate Jews because out of jealousy.,and may be you are one of them.
70. Turkish Crisis
Ameridane ,   Aarhus, Denmark   (09.06.11)
When you think of it rationally, there are only losers and no winners as far as the crisis is concerned. Both leaders, sit down and have a cup of coffee and resolve this crisis before that it gets out of control and one thing after another might lead to a (common) disaster.

Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.06.11)
You should pray that Israel wins. If not, I think Putin will be visiting you, and he won't be leaving so quickly. And like with Georgia, no one will help you.
72. coverup
Raymond ,   Aruba   (09.06.11)
Everything Turkey is doing is just a cover up, for what he is doing in norther iraq, with the Kurds. Intruding into Iraqui airspace, bombing and killing,
73. Israel will suffer greatly from
Stephen in New York   (09.06.11)
being cut off from access to Turkey’s world-famous high-tech weapons industry. Israel should prostrate itself before the Turkish government and beg for forgiveness.
74. Israeli-Turk relationship
Jason Usborne ,   Eugene USA   (09.06.11)
I wish the Israeli government would try to see the big picture. Perhaps it is difficult being what it is where it is, but from what I see, Turkey is really trying to unify the Middle East. Turkey's influence stretches into Europe as a potential conduit for energy. It has kin in the 'Stans of Central Asia. It has sent diplomatic missions into Africa. I see Turkey as the facilitator of the end of the Muslim divide between Sunni and Shia and the midwife of a MENA/Central Asian Union. Israel can and should be a part of it. SO offer them an apology, help Turkey win the hearts and minds of the Muslim world, and perhaps it will convince the Muslim nations that Israel has a right to exist where it does and that it is a good thing to have Israel as an ally.
75. sounds like an excuse to support turkeys arms industry
zionist forever   (09.06.11)
If they are suspending the defense trade sounds to me like an excuse to force the military to buy Turkish weapons rather than Israeli weapons. Its a good thing that deals for things like Offek satellites or Israel's latest combat capable UAV didn't go through. The sooner Erdogan is booted out the better everybody will be,
76. What is most upsetting in all of this is why only Turkey
leo ,   usa   (09.06.11)
gets to decide what's to halt and what is not to halt. If Erdogan decided to up the ante, then he must feel full effect of his actions.
77. No Economic Sanctions "For Now"
TSB ,   Clifton, NJ USA   (09.06.11)
"Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Monday that Ankara would do nothing "for now" to change its economic relationship with Israel." Why would anyone in Israel want to do continue to do business in or with Turkey given the erratic leadership and the implicit threat to impose more sanctions?
78. Gilad Shalit
(09.06.11)
Do you have a radio station that plays Pink Floyd? Let call and dedicate Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" To Gilad Shalit - who has traded a "walk on part in a war for a leading role in a cage" And Mr. Waters can consider the irony of that!!!
79. erdogan of turkey
joel ,   usa   (09.06.11)
so what's the problem, israel can exist without turkey's trade but greece is having better trade with israel, ha, ha, ha!
80. If Israel were to apologize something would change?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.06.11)
From the day he became Prime Minister of Turkey Erdogan has been moving towards his two goals. Firstly to turn Turkey into a Muslim Fundamentalist State and secondly to become the major power in the Middle East. He has achieved his first aim. Now with Egypt in political turmoil and his alliance with Iran he is well on the way to achieve his second. He is now the champion of Hamas and, no doubt, an alliance with Hezbollah is not far. So he cannot change his game plan and Israel must look at its future and nurture our friendship with Cyprus, Greece, Italy and Eastern Mediterranean countries. NATO will soon have to decide its course with Turkey unless they have decided to let the lunatic in Iran control the Middle East through his puppet in Turkey. President Obama must also decide whom he dislikes more - Netanyahu or Ahmadinejad!
81. didn't his FM announce this already?

82. THESE AREN'T THE ACTIONS OF A BALANCED ,REASONABLE PERSON
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (09.06.11)
How can anybody doubt that Erdogan is an arrogant obsessive? He's obsessed with the ambition to achieve Turkey's regional dominance and CANNOT be mollified so there's no point in trying. If Erdogan gets his way,Israel will become a vassal until its finally completely undermined. The only way to deal with a bully like Erdogan is to make it a losing game for him.Israel should go on the diplomatic offences and not be too careful with his feelings. When he realizes that he's becoming a big,big laughing stock internationally and at home he'll soon tone it down. The really important thing in the interim is for Israel's government to remember that it has public sentiment behind it in this matter and going against that will see it swept aside. Israeli's are also entitled to dignity and Erdogan is trying to rob them of it like an old fashioned imperialist. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
83. Questions and answers
(09.06.11)
I wonder what the object of Turkey is by humiliating Israel. Is it just a temporary madness, or an attempt to find a reason for military confrontation with Israel? As Erduan is a religious Muslim, I wouldn't cancel the first option. But, the persistence in humiliating Israel points on a desire for a military confrontation with Israel. And I would not cancel this option either, and I won't be surprised if the Turkish navy will accompany a flotilla to Gaza, or even send an official Turkish ship to Gaza, hoping that Israel will eat the bate, and try to stop this ship. Anyway, Israel has to expect to more rude humiliation attempts from Turkey. The question what Israel has to do, to be silent on these attempts, or top fight back. I think Israel should try an opposite strategy, i.e., instead of behaving like a prey, it should behave like a carnivore. For example, recently Turkey has committed war crimes against its Kurdish population. Israel should take this advantage and to join to the Kurdish people in their straggle to gain a country of their own, on what is presently Turkish soil. Israel should use the UN council to remind the world the attempts of the Turkey to exterminate the Armenian people at the beginning of the previous century. The Israeli officials can say to the world that Turkey has decided to join to the Axis of Evil. Israel should point that Turkey supports the Hamas region in Gaza, which is considered by the entire civilized world as a terror organization that has a soil. But, of course, Israel will prefer to absorb the Turkish hits, and stay still, hoping for better days. Indeed, the leadership of Israel does not live in the Golah, but the Galut is embedded deeply in its soul.

88. APOLOGIES??? read this first
Rick ,   USA   (09.06.11)
The Struma was a ship chartered to carry Jewish refugees from Axis-allied Romania to British-controlled Palestine during World War II. On February 23, 1942, with its engine inoperable and its refugee passengers aboard, Turkish authorities towed the ship from Istanbul harbor through the Bosphorus out to the Black Sea, where they abandoned it without food, water, or fuel. Within hours, in the morning of February 24, it was torpedoed and sunk by the Soviet submarine Shch 213, killing 768 men, women and children, with only one survivor, a 19 year old man, making it the largest exclusively civilian naval disaster of the war. When Israel gets an apology for this mass murder commited by the Turks then it should think about forgiving them
