This, even after the Palmer report vindicated Israel's claims regarding the blockade and the flotilla. The US let pass Turkey's refusal in 2003 to allow US troops to traverse their territory on the way to Iraq. The US let pass Turkey's back-room deal with Brazil over Iran's enrichment project. And the US let pass Turkey's refusal to support UN sanctions on Iran. Now it's living with the results of that appeasement.

Why should the US suddenly shudder at the breakdown of relations between Israel and Turkey? It has been on the cards for some considerable time as the current Turkish government wants to improve its standing in the Arab/Muslem world. Obama's advisers are too stupid to have seen this coming years ago and now they realise how mistaken their overall Middle East policy has and is still being. They ought to know who are their friends and who are not in the Mid-East. Now it is too late for them to repair the rift, and it is no use for them to pressure Israel to give way. After all, it was Israeli soldiers and the blockade of Gaza that was attacked and the UN Palmer report exonerated Israel for this. The US will also reap the benefit for helping Al Quaeda and other Terrorists in the overthrow of Mubarak and Quadafi and possible Assad regimes, because what comes after these will certainly not be friends of the USA.

Turkey has escalated threats against both Israel and Cyprus, a member of the EU and the US sees it as a Turkish-israeli issue?!
