1. A matter of time?
rom ,   israel   (09.07.11)
I wish Panetta were right. But, as it states in the article, in 2009, Iranian security forces crushed the mass protests against the re-election of Ahmadinejad. And does he not remember what happened to the Chinese protesters in Tiananmen Square in 1989?
2. Maybe but after they have the nukes
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.07.11)
most likely. Then what ? In sure would not want to put my trust in a former CIA head
3. While your thumb is in your behind waiting for revolution...
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (09.07.11)
Mr.Panetta, the Iranians can produce at least 10 bombs. It's fairly clear you will never be mistaken for Robert S. McNamara.
4. Panetta a Marxist?
Beauchard   (09.07.11)
A matter of time? That's what Marxists say about the "revolution". It does not mean anything, because a matter of time can be until the cows come home.
5. A "revolution" will change nothing
jackflash   (09.07.11)
A "new" Iran will still stand up to its rights in nuclear issues and reject zionism. The West will be pushing for civil war and destabilization to keep Persia down.
6. ASPIRATION
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.07.11)
The article suggests nothing to us.If the Iranians find their life going little bit roughly,it is due to the sanctions imposed by the USA.Well, what sort of revolution are YOU dreaming about?
7. Thanks Obama
Ber ,   Yahud   (09.07.11)
I wish I could take my vote back, as a Jew, and as a Democrat. Obama's spineless actions, ambivalent motives, dubious loyalties make me want my vote back! After coming to power backed by assurances of support for Israel, then maligning Israel for several years, Obama ushered out Mubarak with utter disrespect for a loyal ally, and ushered in the Brotherhood. Best of all: Obama has encouraged Iran with his weak conciliatory policy with lslam. The Mullahs laughing all the way to brutal Islamofacist hegemony in the Middle East. Now USA foreign policy has been reduced to wishing things in Iran would change. "Yes we can." is pretty meaningless these days. I wish I had a president that didn't exploit public sentiment over economic disaster with rousing, manipulative, empty speeches about "change". I wish I had a president of clear intentions, loyalty, and integrity.
8. Iran is going full speed to aquire nukes
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.07.11)
and Mr. Panetta has not more to offer than such b.s....??? He is as bad as Gates...!!!
9. #8 Chris Rettenmoser
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (09.07.11)
But these nukes will be halal, i.e., no need to worry.
10. revolution in Iran
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (09.07.11)
Mr Panetta is wrong, there will be no revolution in Iran because unlike Egypt and Tunisia, where the Army refused to fire on the people,in Iran the regime is protected by 2 organizations, the revolutionary guards, and the basij who number a Million people, like the ss in Germany, the Nkvd in the soviet onion.the same people who put down the rebelion in 09 after the faked election,so,it's a long way to Tipperary.
11. Rottenmoser and Albrecht, you too have nothing to...
Persian CAT   (09.07.11)
worry about. You two can eat anything.
12. #9, Albrecht Klein....hmmm...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.07.11)
Sounds good...
13. CAT...why so nasty ? We are nice guys...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.07.11)
LOL !
14. 11-You probably didn't need a major oppositon
Red Temple ,   White Mtns   (09.07.11)
against the current regime at that time. However, if you pay attention to current history along and outside your borders there is one?
15. I don;t think so!
IRAN#1   (09.08.11)
As Iranian leaders predicted the "arab spring" has already hit the UK we asll saw how that went down didn't we :) And I can tell you that they way the economy is going it's a lot more likely we see a revolution or at least violent protests in the US of A than Iran. Mr. Panetta should make sure the home turf is safe before making these kind of stupid statements that will only incite hatred for Americans.
