1. Why do they hate us article
Leo ,   Australia   (09.11.11)
Hey Israel you don't have to retrospect because of somebody else's actions. Those people hate everything and everyone. Let this be representative of who Egyptians are. They are not friendly welcoming people.
2. I listened to NPR today and it said egyptians were upset ove
rachel ,   usa   (09.11.11)
over the killing of the egyptian soldiers on its borders ....When you have the newsmedia all over the world lying about Israel , what do you expect ? Its about time Israel confront the world media ! The nazis had good propaganda and you see what happened !
3. Why?
Mary snow ,   Usa   (09.11.11)
Everytime the economy goes bad who do you think they blame israel and Jews. It amazing how much Israelis are living in a cacoon.
4. It's not all about us.
shrinkDave ,   Miami USA   (09.11.11)
A central characteristic of the Egyptian mentality is their severe resistance to self criticism. They outright reject any truth that might make them seem anything less than undeniably correct, just, and morally superior. Resistance to self criticism on this scale leads to a popular denial of the truth, mass delusion, and the rest, you can watch on the news.
5. Now we know: the cause of antisemitism is economy!!!!!!!!!!!
tom ,   tel aviv   (09.11.11)
6. Idiotic article
Steven Gilbert ,   Teaneck   (09.11.11)
It's not the economy stupid! They hate you because they're Arabs. They never stopped hating you. It's part of their religion. Learn from history or perish!
7. Sounds like the 1930s
Erekat   (09.11.11)
when Jews tried to understand why Europe hated them. It is Israel and the Jews who are the victims here. Islamist propaganda should be seen for what it is: a racist movement fomenting trouble for revisionist ends.
8. Why do they hate us? Who cares?
GideonReader ,   USA   (09.11.11)
Having a constant and unrepentent enemy is quite liberating. None of that wishy washy palid dislike stuff. Give me an intractable and hate filled enemy any day. No BEE YESS. Just an address for any actions that a stupid and unspecting moronic, substandard bit of pee poor protoplasm is dumb enough to generate. Enemies come in all configurations and their hate-heat in all degrees of intensity. The seething hate of Iran. The blunt basically stupid hate of Egypt, the tenuous hate of Jordan, and the cold eons old hate of the Euroweenies. But worst and most dangerous is the intelligent and corosive directed SELF HATE. The most dangerous kind. The hate of the stupid, Progressive, Marxist, Socialist Jew, too damned dumb to know that his hate is his own cancer eating away at his own body. I do so love a good enemy. It gives me a purpose to go on when I awake each day. Better than a good cigar and a glass of excellent scotch.
9. WHY????
greggg@bezeqint.net ,   tel aviv   (09.11.11)
EVER heard of antisemitism? it used to apply to guettoes. It now applies to a nation and a country. Why ask why? so to feel less jewish by denying the root cause of antisemitism?
10. Because we are Jewish
Isaac Storm   (09.11.11)
11. Poor analysis
Egyptian ,   Egypt   (09.11.11)
The mob is mainly related to the Muslim brotherhood which is the mother group of Hamas. Their objective is to create some sort of tension that Hamas can benefit from it . I think the analysis ignore a lots of facts in the current situation in the ME. Most people in Egypt are not looking for the destruction of Israel but to more stable democratic system. yes i think if you achieve better relation with the Palestinians it will make the situation better in the region.
12. correct article
fad egypt   (09.11.11)
i agree with professor Zisser that the older generation is the one who wants calm and peace because it is the generation which suffered the wars in the sixties and seventies but the younger generation (my generation) doesnt understand that and it claims that it is ready for war with israel but anyway i am supporting the peace with israel , the true peace not the cold peace which lasted for 30 years not because i am afraid from the war but because i am supporting israel right to exist as the state of the jewish people and the land of israel belongs to the jews according to the history and the bible i believe that israel has given sinai to egypt on a silver plate for a piece of paper egypt signed camp david just to get sinai back after being defeated in 1973 war but i believe that the army understands what the war with israel means so it will preserve the peace with israel but till when israel is going to tolerate our hatred and our violations god bless israel and preserve its peace shalom
13. Each revolution is different
Matt   (09.11.11)
If Iran in 2009 and Assad now had people protesting about the Jews they would not be having any problems. Jews were not mentioned in Libya. In fact both thought that resistance to Israel protected them from unrest, which Qaddafi tried to save his regime also near the end when he knew the uprising was coming. Egypt was different antisemitism was present at Tahir from the beginning of the peaceful uprising. Now candidates are going to run some to keep the peace treaty some to get rid of it, a coalition needs to be formed and the treaty will be opened to negotiation to form a government. Just with AKP, the US can pressure the military but the government will remove the generals, the only way to keep the peace treaty would be a coup. The US cannot stop the PA going to the UN so it will be hard to keep the Egyptian from canceling peace. Whether Jordan keeps its treaty will be up to if it is a requirement of the GCC membership to cancel it. He is moving from the US to the GCC because he saw what they did to Mubarak and fears the same fate, but he is not giving up his Kingdom, for anyone and the Saudi's are not willing to see a fellow royal fall like Mubarak.
14. we wont have any peace treaties soon
zionist forever   (09.11.11)
As soon as this caretaker military government is replaced by an elected one, probably largely made up of the Muslim Brotherhood then the Egypt will be run by a more radical government. The palestinians are also going to the UN in less than two weeks and when Israel tells the UN to go to hell when the General Assembly endorses the creation of a palestinian state then it will just radicalize the Egyptians further and the people will demand their government tears up the peace treaty. With Abdullah struggling to hold onto his throne in Jordan and 80% of the population being palestinians he will feel pressured to tear up the Jordanian peace treaty also. So Turkey is gone thanks to the madman Erdogan and thanks to the arab spring the treaties with Jordan and Egypt will soon be gone. South Sudan, Greece, former Soviet states, they are all new friends and we need to embrace them instead of giving land for treaties with the Muslims that won't last. We should also reach out to the Kurds, if we can do that then we have friends in the Gulf whose lands we can use for gathering intelligence on Iran. What we need to do is make friends worldwide instead of being obsessed with the arabs who cannot be trusted.
15. Typical Muslim actions
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.11.11)
They have been taught to hate Jews from birth on - guess what they hate us. They have been taught to blame everybody else for their problems because they are too lazy, too stupid and too racist to do otherwise. So who is going to get the majority of the blame the ones they have been taught to hate. There was no 'Arab Spring'. The Muslims are a backward, repressive group of ignorant savages and they know one thing only hatred. I can't wait until they turn inward and kill each other. Then the world might be safe once they have murdered enough of their own people.
16. Sophomoric, Delusional, Self-interest, Spin Analysis
American Jew ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.11.11)
Do you really believe that the Egyptian people hate Israel ONLY because they don't want Israel 2exist?!?? Perhaps 30 years of Israel's active powerful influence on our USA to corruptly enable their Dictator government which brutally oppressed most Egyptians while benefitting Israel with cheap gas, serve as an Arab insider, sustained cold peace and other goodies makes more human sense, eh?
17. Arab Hate
MORT the SPORT ,   Montreal, Quebec, CA   (09.11.11)
Arab Jew hate goes a lot deeper than Zionism. Muslims regard both Jews and Christians as dhimmi, that is, second class people living amongst muslims. So in this context they can not recognize Israel and Jews as equals. There can be no peace and a continued anti-Israel and anti-Jew hate will continue for a long, long time. The concept of equality and acceptance of "non-muslims" is foriegn to the muslim mind. The same exclusiveness applies to orthodox Jews who consider themselves God's chosen People! Orthodox Catholics regard themselves in the same way! The concept of democracy is alien to all of these groups. Others are looking at humanistic values. Religious orthodoxy is a form of extreamism and imposition to non-adherents.
18. They hate us because we are Jews
William ,   Virginia   (09.11.11)
and they are supremacists. We have no place in their world. This isn't a difficult question to answer. Geez.....
19. Why do they hate us? Think jealousy,
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (09.11.11)
ignorance and intolerance. That just about sums it all up.
20. It's Egypt, not Israel
Ed ,   USA   (09.11.11)
The current government of Egypt is stirring up anti-Israel sentiment to deflect attention from its own failings--just as Arab regimes have typically done. However, there is probably another motive here: the government wants to protect itself from the Muslim Brotherhood. By stirring up anti-Israel sentiment themselves, they think they are removing a motive for people to back the Brotherhood. This strategy is likely to be unsuccessful, and we can expect the current military government to be short-lived.
21. Why do they hate us?
Rick ,   USA   (09.11.11)
in one word "BRAINWASHING"
22. Yrs of Egyptian State Sponsored incitement
Moish ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.11.11)
No, the author lives in a bubble, the Egyptians like every other Arab country hates us because they have been indoctrinated by the Govt. Media and their Mosques to hate Jews and blame them for all their backward corrupt ways and problems, since they were born.
23. Jews must not hate Egypt
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (09.11.11)
according to the Torah. But Egypt and all arabs and muslims, they hate us, as written in the Quran.
24. Why do they hate us
Daniel ,   Israel   (09.11.11)
Not because of "their frustration" if so they should remove it on their Government. They hate us because of wrong teaching. "Talk against Israel" and the leader in their country is extremely popular; this is a key formula. Muslims and their countries are not reliable; not because of their religion; because of their wrong teachers and preachers. These leaders have no innovative ideas; their speeches are full of hatred for "Jews, Christians, Hindus and all other religion except Islam." Governments have no Respect for their own previous Governments! They talk one thing; it means exactly opposite. I doubt if Government itself is dealing underhand and encourage riots against our institutions! Learn from Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan (Osama case). Better to withdraw all embassies from Muslim countries before serious casualties.
25. Thirty- five years of the teaching of hate
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (09.11.11)
The 'cold peace' was not cold and peace in one important sense. The Egyptian media promoted hatred of Israel throughout the period. There was no effort on the part of the Government to 'educate' toward real peace. The same process of Education in hate goes on throughout the Arab and Islamic world, including and especially among the Palestinians. How can there be true peace when there is such hatred? Still better, far far better a cold peace than a real war.
26. Nothing new since the times of the pharaohs...
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.11.11)
27. Why They Hate Us
anarchteacher ,   United States   (09.11.11)
Google "Why They Hate Us," by Laurence M. Vance. If you only read one article concerning the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks upon the United States, I highly recommend that this is the one to read. The important information it contains is not widely known to most persons.
28. Good grief - why is obvious. There was no "Arab Spring"
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.11.11)
The Arabs have been fed decades of hate filled propaganda by their dictator rulers. Arabs don't know from true law and order or from due process or from real international laws. All they know is the lies they were fed about how Arabs can break any international laws they want, so long as it's aimed at Israel. Egyptians don't know that dozens of Israelis have been brutally murdered on Egyptian soil, or that thousands of illegal weapons are smuggled from Egypt to Gaza, or that Egypt is also responsible for the boycott of Gaza, etc etc etc. There is no Arab Spring. There's going to be lots more chaos across the Arab world. Why do they hate us? Because they have nothing better to do and no freedom in their own country. The mother of all cheap excuses for Arab mayhem has been and still is Israel.
29. Inside view
Fayoum ,   Egypt   (09.11.11)
First let me say that I am for peace with isarael and that I condemn that attack against your embassy. You asked why did they hate us, well I would answer you beacause you are not muslim. This is why they hates also the Copts who are even more Egyptian than them, but these rioters don't care about Egypt.. The Tahrir revolution was initiated at the begining with educated youth. Even if there a disagreement, these people knows the reality of the world and can be partners for peace with others. Unfortunately the vast majority of the people are uneducated, and follows what muslims clercics says, and those people are rabid anti-israeli, anti copt, anti- western, in fact anti all who are not muslim.
30. Is peace a one-way street?
Israel Israeli ,   Central Israel   (09.11.11)
Egyptians think that peace is a one-way street. They want to cancel the peace, but keep all the benefits. If they keep on this path, they will lose both.
