31. The Divine Timetable
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (09.12.11)
Yes time is of an essence. People will notice time "speeding up" over the next ten days. G-d has a plan in mind for the Middle East. His timetable will trump all others. There are various ways to redesign power structures. (1) The wrecking ball into the decrepit building. (2) Walking around the Walls of Jericho. (3) Waves lapping onto a rocky shore. (4) Dynamite the base. (5) Walk away and let G-d do his work. Belief systems are the same. G-d is an intelligent designer and right now he is reforming the belief systems of many people. He prefer people heed the softly, softly approach but sometimes the ball and crane is called into service. The landscapes of the redemption are a multihued wonder.
32. Funny
Will ,   Bradford   (09.12.11)
It's funny how all those talkbackers before me throw insults and cast aspersions on the NYT, yet not one has posted an argument against what the NYT has said, with the exception of #18 who incorrectly states that Israel stopped settlement building for 9 months when M J Fizen knows perfectly well that it was merely a cosntruction slowdown that didn't even include E Jerusalem. And you wonder why Israel's PR campaign is going badly when Israeli's and their advocates rely on poorly veiled propaganda...
33. External factors leave 1 option: BIG ISRAEL
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.12.11)
34. Arabs, whole streets. Israel, 1 HOUSE. Nonviolent transfer.

35.  slams Netanyahu for evading negotiations
Niss ,   uk   (09.12.11)
To New York Times editorial you have it wrong it is the other way round ask your self what did the palastinians do to advance negotiations and stop living in denial
36. #7;Salma, WHOOPS, BAD TIMING!!!
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.12.11)
I don't want to pop your balloon, but to quote you: "it would look like that US. has not learnt anything from the arab [sic] spring"?? What is it, the USA was to learn exactly? Egypt is still a military dictatorship, unemployment has more than doubled, the economy is now in ruins. Syria is in disarray, Assad is still in power and nobody knows who will take over when the riots stop. Libya is much the same as Syria. So what's the lesson? As I see it, let the people overthrow their governments, supply the opposition with weapons, and then we don't have to put boots on the ground. Israel is the only stable government left in the region and we should give the USA's full support to Israel. Why would the USA support the people who danced in the streets when we were hit hard on 9/11? They showed the video's again yesterday, so I can't say your timing is very good. Picking the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, might be construed as spitting in the face of America. The 10th anniversary of the Palestinians dancing in the streets, isn't the best time to ask us for a favor?
37. When will US Jews stop thinking only about money?
$teven ,   the Island   (09.12.11)
They only want a PA state because they think it will help their stock portfolio. Shameful
38. NY Slimes
Steve from Florida ,   Palm Beach, USA   (09.12.11)
Seems that the only time The Times steps away from its traditional fare of pedestalizing sodomy, feminism and general moral deviancy is to criticize Israel!
39. NYT criticizes Israel
Joe ,   uk   (09.12.11)
Maybe the The New York Times are being paid by anti Israel people
40. The selective criticism of the NYT
David M.   (09.12.11)
The NYT never gets so worked up about Tibetan independence or an independent Kurdistan in parts of Iraq, Turkey, Iran and Syria. Here we are talking about legitimate nations with their own language and culture and a very long history unlike the invented Palestinians not different from Jordanians or Syrians who already have their independent countries.
41. #36 OOPS!
Salma ,   Palestine   (09.12.11)
>>"Why would the USA support the people who danced in the streets when we were hit hard on 9/11?" ha! Mark, I really don't know whether to laugh or cry. you need to be honest so i can take your comments seriously.
42. #7 "no reason on earth"...best reason..."Salma".

43. nytimes
moon ,   galut   (09.12.11)
liberal media---just look at map of region to see who is threatening whom and who has an interest in peace...the times knows the plo is simply a weapon of moslem hatred against the jews first and then the western civilization which is xtian--jordan is arab palestine-see nyt archives!
44. #40
yazeed ,   Palestine   (09.12.11)
it's funny how you call palestinians invented, but israelis as a true nation that is not made up of immigrants which have been living there continiuously for 2000 years
45. Self-loathers at work
Dr Dave ,   NYC USA   (09.12.11)
The New York Gimes editorial department is adictited to hiring Jews at the helm. So as not to be accused of Jews running the media these Jews take the furthest stance possible and classically bend over backwards to sla Israel. They also think their words will sway American Jews, which they do...Left leaning ones who support the likes of Obama & J Street. They also think they can influence Israelis which they can't. Israelis are the ones who suffered under Olmert & Livni and Israelis see right through Abbas and his "moderate" Jew/Israel hating cohorts who want to use "peace" as a way to continue what Arafat started...which was to whittle away Israel and her resolve piece by piece until her final destruction. The Jew York Times is loaded to the brim with Leftists & way far-Left Jewish self-loathers who are nothing but pawns in the ayatollahs' Final Solution campaign.
46. The New York Times has Abdicated its Role
Jacob Blues ,   New York City, USA   (09.12.11)
as the paper of record finding it preferable to become the equivelent of FOX news of the Progressives. Unfortunately, in pursuit of its cause for universal human rights, the Times decided that Jews are not included in that universal set, and as such, not deserving of those so-called 'human rights'. As Rockets continue to fly from Gaza, Egyptians burn the Israeli embassy, and Turkey's Prime Minister calls for war . . . even as it demands Israel fufill its obligation to service Turkey's military equipment, the NY Times finds only a single person, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu, as the sole problem to the Panglossian future of Middle East peace. That Abu Mazen has already decried that not only will any new Palestinian state be Jew Free, but continues to cling to the Palestinian demand that their refugees find a home not in this new Palestine, but in Israel.
47. NYT
Jack ,   us   (09.12.11)
NYT New York Trash
48. The New York Times?
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (09.12.11)
Who reads it? The half educated jewish liberal!
49. # 7 salma.....
Shalom ,   U.S.A.   (09.12.11)
Arab spring? Freedom? In a muslim arab state? You must be kidding! Intolerance and savagery? Yes!
50. @12-13: Gabor Frank
Thomas ,   USA   (09.12.11)
It makes no sense to post pro-Israeli opinion anymore: the Israeli press' morphed into Haaretz as if an invisible order made them do it. I suspect that Western governments - with the support of ObamaJews, Jstreet, Soros group - took the gloves off - see the social protest - to finish off with Israel. Remember the overwhelming majority of the Jewish elite is Marxist, promoting the Utopian "Universalism" in which nation-states are anachronism. Except for Islamist states which they support for the complexity of reason. The French would say: "Laisser tomber" - just leave them as it and give up on Israel.
51. No surprise here
Mkke caton ,   USA   (09.12.11)
"The NYTimes condemns Israel"? This is as surprising as the fact that today the sun will set in the west.
52. The really sad part
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.12.11)
Is that Abbas is the most 'moderate Palestinian leader' ever. If that is a sign of moderate Arabs then the best we can hope for is their extinction.
53. Easy for the New York Times to say.
noa ,   israel   (09.12.11)
What if the new country Palestine had joined forces with all the Arab countries and attacked Israel. Where would Israel be? Doesn't balance of power mean anything to anyone?
54. #41; Salma, BETTER CRY
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.12.11)
I was honest. If you think not, state what you think was not honest. Instead of making vague comments, so that nobody knows what the heck your talking about? Put simply, what did I say that was not honest? This way I can respond, which I suspect is what your afraid of.
55. @12-13: Gabor Frank: This is the proof
Thomas ,   USA   (09.12.11)
In reply to Salma I enclosed the URL for youtube video on the Palestinian celebration of 9-11. There are dozens of videos - all Public -but the truth hurts so this publication deleted the URL with astronomical speed. You know, Islam bashing is un-PC, but cursing Israel is cool....
56. NYT
sulah ,   USA   (09.12.11)
I am ashamed of having a news media such as the times in this country. They are traitors, biased, misguided, unintelligent idiots and do not represent the majority of Americans. Mr Palestinian christian.....please go back to where you came from. IF you were truly christian, you would KNOW the Biblical truth.....Israel is to stay.............forever.
57. And what americans are going...
Gad ,   Israel   (09.12.11)
to do about it ? well, almost nothing. Instaed of not supplying the arab countries weapon for "their" own defence, they give them weapon for oil. Instead of telling the arab nations not to make so many problems (about 99% of all the problems in the world), they sell them weapon to "protect" themselves from Iran. Instead of supporting Israel, the only true ally of the USA in this region, they not telling Turkey, who enjoys american weapon, to sit back and relax (so turkey agreed to put a big radar. so what ?) A day will come and Turkey will start acting like Iran, who doesn't care what the american saying. Remember that. This day is not far away.
58. #7 Salma: Which "Arab Spring"? Arab
Vardina   (09.13.11)
revolution have always paved the road for a new dictator. This will happen again. The attempt to linch Israeli Embassy's staff proves beyond doubt who you Moslem really are: subhuman murderers. Not less not more. Does it make you feel proud? I suppose so, considering your concept of moral values.
59. #12: you are so right!
