31. Experts? What experts?
Yael Schlichting ,   Raubling - Germany   (09.13.11)
What do "Human Rights Experts" know about intl. maritime law???
32. What experts?
Phil ,   USA   (09.13.11)
Exactly what qualifies the UN people as "human rights experts?" Do you have to take a graduate program in human rights? Calling someone an expert in a certain discipline requires an accepted level of training and passing rigorous tests. Evidently, to be cknowledged as a human rights expert by the UN requires a person to deny the right of self-defense to Israel.
33. Independent UN Experts?
Miao   (09.13.11)
Oxymoron. There's no such thing.
34. A UN sewage expert is now an expert on maritime law?!?!
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.13.11)
These aren't "experts" at all, but rather biased pro-Arab activists with an axe to grind. Ynet again does a disservice to its readers and all those who value democracy by trumping up the headline. YNET editors have to go back to Journalism 101 - the headline has to match the story. In this case, the headline should have been "UN sewage and health experts dispute legal ruling in Palmer Report". Crikey. I'm an expert on 5-card stud poker, but Ynet never quotes me when I put out a report on the Palestinian economy!!!
35. As the Palmer Report noted
Professor Miao   (09.13.11)
Gaza doesn't have a deep sea port. Prior to the blockade it did not receive food or construction material by sea. And Richard Falk is a well-known anti-Israel bigot. To cite his opinion as neutral and authoritative is laughable.
36. Richard Falk
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (09.13.11)
Quasimodo Falk is in jealous he wasn't on this panel as well.Quasimodo is proven Kapo
37. but Gaza is exporting food !!!!
Israeli ,   israel   (09.13.11)
The "experts" have obviously not consulted Catherine Ashton, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and Vice President of the European Commission, as they are obviously unaware of the agreement signed in April by her ladyship and Salam Fayyad, which gives agricultural products, processed foods, and fish and fishery products originating in the West Bank and Gaza Strip immediate duty-free access to the EU market. Either Gaza is exporting the UN aid, or their plight is not quite as unbearable as Falk would like us to believe. Also, the Palmer Commission was appointed by the UN at Turkey's request, and please correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Turkey had a representative in that Commission, veteran diplomat Özdem Sanberk. So there, independent experts and rapporteurs are caught living on another planet.
38. The u.n. Lost All credibility Long Ago

When world Orginazations are infiltrated by Too Many mooslums this what europe and the Rest Of The World will see when mooslums Become Majority.
39. Questionable editorial judgement
Hunt S. Cross ,   England   (09.14.11)
to describe any "experts" reporting to the UNHRC as "independent". After all, how strong is the association of Pakistan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Cuba with human rights? Yet, somehow, all of these nations have seats on the council. And, somehow, Israel finds itself as the only country on the agenda at every meeting that the Council has. As for the "experts'" expertise, Richard Falk is named in the article. Well Richard has been an Ayatollah Khomenei apologist and is a 9/11 "truther". Their report may have little to do with fact, but it is certainly part of a malign propaganda war against Israel by its ideological enemies.
40. All Hamas has to do to end the blockade:
BK ,   Israel   (09.14.11)
...is go after the militant groups that are shooting at Israel. I have not heard one peep of effort to do so. Such, they don't care if their own citizens grow and prosper, suffer or care if the blockage is lifted. Gaza has it so much better than most places in the mideast. That's a fact. They aren't even comparable to the suffering in Daufur. They just have superior world propaganda.
41. Let's talk about the 200+ missiles shot from Gaza this week.
BK   (09.14.11)
They elected Hamas, they reap the rewards.
42. stop robotic reprinting of deliberately misleading headlines
bernard ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (09.14.11)
this is a perfect example of media anti bias. The headline should have stated "independent human rights experts" as this is not the same as international maritime law experts. Furthermore, becase of the repeated anti israeli position of the UNRHC it should have stated that they are the sponsor. A kind of disclosure of toxicity.
43. Consider the source
John ,   Alaska   (09.14.11)
This is the same Richard Falk who created an anti-Semitic cartoon this past summer (no the Jews didn't murder people or riot over it - like some people do over cartoons) I'm not saying he is an anti-Semite, only that Richard Falk was censured for his anti-Semitic cartoon earlier this year. This does color any statement this man makes concerning Israel.
44. UN Experts: Are Missiles on School Buses Legal?
Jonathan   (09.14.11)
Amazing...
45. UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food
Harry Wright ,   UK   (09.14.11)
I am appalled that this man has not said a single word of condemnation about the tragic situation in Somalia and other African countries where people are starving and even deliberately deprived of food aid. His job is a JOKE or what? He has found time to pontificate on a well-fed and obese Gaza population.
46. FALK
CHARLES ,   BOSTON USA   (09.14.11)
And one thought that Goldstone was bad1 Falk is a self-hating Jew probably a friend od Soros.
47. same old same old
wiz of iz ,   montreal canada   (09.14.11)
So here we go again. What is as plain as day has to be spun upside down and turned into night by Turkey and her ever growing entourage, Get willling and eager Israel bashers, under the veil of the UN to contrive and write opposite findings to the Palmer report along with scattered anti Israel blatherings and ...voila! they now have the ammunition to selectively counter the UN report that was originally requested by Turkey herself. This arab/muslim/islamic mentality of rewriting factual events and creating a narrative and mold it into a "plausible" reality to be accepted by the ensnared, faithful believers is a modern day handbook "How To Fool and Get What You Want" for Dummies. This is not the first time this scenario has been written ,nor will it be the last.
48. experts called: mahmoud, Ali, Mouhamed, Ahmed etc etc
experts ,   WORLD   (09.14.11)
49. Falk is about as independent as Noam Chomsky
Zionist forever   (09.14.11)
Falk Is a discredited anti Semite who has been caught out lying about Israel in the past. I would love to know who else are the so called independent judges? The one thing this does prove is that when it comes to the UN it's the same old Israel bashing body we have all come to know but not love. If Palmer made us think the UN might have changed it's tune and become more even handed we were wrong. Time for Israel to withdraw it's membership of this discredited body which we pay millions of dollars every to and if the US Tea Party was looking to save money the US would stop acting as it's biggest funder.
50. Funny
Robert ,   Australia   (09.14.11)
Funny how when a UN resolution goes against Israel it has lost all its credibility but when a positive resolution is passed it is the best thing since sliced bread.
51. Richard Falk is at it again
DavidM ,   USA   (09.14.11)
Richard Falk is at it again. When last heard from Mr. Falk published a vile anti-Jewish cartoon on his blog and then denied that he published it. When confronted with the proof that he did he said he didn't have his glasses on and didn't notice the cartoon.Richard Falk does not reside in the house of the truth.
52. these are not experts. they are the un whores on parade.

53. What do you expect from al-Reuters?
Scott ,   USA   (09.14.11)
54. UN Human Rights Council have no...
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.14.11)
...credibility as far as Israel is concerned. They have ALWAYS ruled against israel. Israel should ignore their nonesense as usual.
55. UN and israel
joel ,   usaq\   (09.14.11)
the UN (Useless Nation) is full of corrupt people, John Bolyon can testify for that!
56. So-called UN experts
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (09.14.11)
There is no such thing as a human right to kill Jews - not even for Arabs.
57. UN Experts
Madeleine ,   Rehovot Israel   (09.14.11)
Well we all know that "Human Rights" experts are far left and anti-Israel, criticizing Israel while staying silent on real human rights abuses by the Arabs. According to the Helsinki Accords, the blockade is legal, and that's what counts. too bad if some miserable Turks or Gazans feel it infringes their rights. I also feel it infringes my rights to be bombed and attacked.
58. UN, human rights and independent is a double oximoron
Helena ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (09.14.11)
UN, human rights and independent is a double oxymoron, the same as the title of one of UN reports, namely "Arab Human Development"
59. #14,18,21,27 peremptory norms
observer ,   Egypt   (09.14.11)
The number of peremptory norms is considered limited but not exclusively cataloged. They are not listed or defined by any authoritative body, but arise out of case law and changing social and political attitudes. Generally included are prohibitions on waging aggressive war, crimes against humanity, war crimes, maritime piracy, genocide, apartheid, slavery, and torture. state-sponsored piracy is one of the recognizable peremptory norms.
60. UN experts
