As a Christian it saddened me to see so many bigoted responses to the article posted here. Also, some of the comments quoted in the article were blatantly false and constituted intrusion into another religion's internal affairs. The Catholic Church does not dictate to the Jewish community who it includes within its ranks. Bishop Williamson will likely not be among those who reconcile with Rome should such reconciliation come about. Further, none of you know the terms of the proposed agreement and are jumping to conclusions and throwing insults at the same time.

I am a Catholic and consider the Jewish people as my brothers and sisters. This is terrible news. Be assured that most of us stand with you and are happy of the progress our two faiths have made in the last few years. I hope that good men in the church's leadership do not make the mistake of letting this society back in without accepting the document.

I think that Jewish groups, the Anti-Defamation League etc. can relax because the Catholic Church teachings are not going to go anti-Semitic. Any right minded orthodox Catholic in the U.S. or Europe is not going to hate Jews and Israel but support. Liberal Catholics and other left wing Christian and Euro groups are the ones to worry about.
