The original mandate before 1921 streched to the Iraqi border. Nomadic tribes occupied today's Jordan. There are over a million Arabs living there now. So Jordan should become the new Palestinean state and the King should live in Beverley Hills where he would fit in quite well with his Jewish backers.
62. Not too late to correct the error. Full annexation now!
Eli ,   California   (09.19.11)
There is no partner for negotiation and there is no partner for peace. Abbas' approaching the UN is doing Israel a favor by proving Abbas never was and still has no intention of ever engaging in honest, meaningful negotiation. He represents people who have no clue about what compromise means. All they preach is killing and hate. Formally annexing the territory that Israel got in the Six Day War is a necessity that is long overdue. Now is the time for all good people to come to the aid of Israel.

If archeological evidence of ancient 'occupation' justified present day sovereignty the world would look very different from what it does today! Such evidence is beside the point. Zionism is based partly on an ancient religious narrative and partly on a quest for Jewish national self-determination as a consequence of antisemitic events of horrifying proportions. However, no nation-state can be established without negative consequences for other peoples. If all participants in this seemingly endless conflict realised this there might just be a chance for some kind of settlement, if not based on friendship then at least based on non-aggression. After all, the French and the British, despite a good deal of continuing mutual dislikes and cultural divisions, have managed to do this for well over 100 years!
64. Nour, were you asleep during history class?
American Sabrah ,   Israel   (09.19.11)
Israel is a Jewish state because your exalted leader failed miserably to defeat us during the '48 war as he initially promised to do. We've won our independence from surrounding Arab nations, one of them being Jordan and honorably so. We have every right to claim every inch of Israel as our own.Why should we have to give back what we've rightfully earned or do you not understand the rules of war?Yes the Arabs should get the hell out of Israel and establish a Palestinian state in your territory since 60 % of the Palestinian population resides in Jordan. It makes perfect sense.Besides, what the hell is a Palestinian anyways? The more you repeat the same tripe about occupied territories" in the West Bank, the more you make yourself look like a babbling idiot who doesn't know what you are talking about.Get a clue and a burqa!
65. palestine is from the sea to the river. you can say whatever

66. Brooklyn and The Jewish Autonomous Oblast
Ibrahim ,   Jerusalem   (09.19.11)
You can ask USA to give you brooklyn or move to russian federation to the The Jewish Autonomous Oblast. Jordan is not Palestine , Palestine is Palestine and Jordan is Jordan. Don't you all realize that how come a country in the middle of arab countries are all blonds and talk a different language and have almost all european passports or american is existing. Well I guess because Israel is a fake state, and Israel should be brooklyn new york baby.
67. #8 Vice versa, in reverse
Phil ,   Ireland   (09.19.11)
As ever, you make assumptions based on ideology rather than reality. The Palestinians don't want a state, they want to get rid of Israel. A state is only the beginning of that aspiration. The Palestinians can't insist where they want that state if there is contention over that land. Jordan was part of Mandate Palestine before the British handed it over to the Arabs. It is in effect the Arab state of Palestine. Your thinking/thought is in reverse, vice versa etc.

If the Israeli government were to actually try and pull off what you people are saying, which is now know in modern parlance as ethnic cleansing (c'mon 3 million are just going to move because we served them an eviction notice? Nah they're going to be forced out at gun point and inevitably hundreds if not thousands will be killed). And in our day and age just as soon as you finished saying ethnic cleansing someone else will just finished sayin' "NATO intervention." So if you want to annex J&S and ethnically cleanse it of Arabs (which is a pretty disgusting and un-Jewish thinking) then don't be surprised to find the 6th Fleet parked outside Haifa along with the French, British, Italians, Spanish and Turk's bombing our modern country into smithereens..... yepper ethnic cleansing won't do us any good
72. Jordan = Palestine?
Tony Singh ,   Delhi, India   (09.19.11)
Dear Author, Either you need a course in natural justice or you are a plain property grabber. Palestine was land on which Israel was created. Look at the maps before 1948. 2. The Palestanians you drove away are the decendants of original inhabitants of that land. They were the people who adopted to Islam from their original religion 3. One cannot take away land from people just because they switched to different belief system. If this is the logic one applies, then you might evacuate people for using different soap than you use. Afterall like your soap and toothbrush, preference for religion is also a personal matter. I hope you understand this.

No, it doesn't work. I don't see any gas chambers and crematoria. Do you?
74. Haha you don't know history
@ Sarah B ,   Herzliya   (09.19.11)
Jarda was talking about the ethnic cleansing of some several million Germans from Poland, Czech, Slovakia and elsewhere at the end of WW2.... hahahaha boy, oh boy, you're in need of an education

Perhaps you dont remember that "Palestine" (Technically Syria Palestina) was a name that the Roman emperor Hadrian gave to the area of Judea (you could pronounce it "Jew-dia") and Samaria. This included many Jews. Hadrian was quite the Jew hater. So to say that the Jewish people dont belong there is intellectually dishonest.
77. Push the Arabs into the desert?
James Hovland ,   USA   (09.19.11)
Not sure if the author here has gotten the memo yet, but that plan isn't really supported by anyone else.
78. Corruption in Jordan by non other than the King
Observer ,   Amman/Jordan   (09.19.11)
Even though I dont like the spirit of the author, I must admit that the King and his family have done the Middle East a disservice. He is corrupt and his wife is more corrupt and they should be ousted ASAP. Only then the new Jordan and Israel can have real relations. Now what this Jordan is going to look like, it really doesnt matter as long as it is representative of all those who live within its borders. You call it Palestine, you call it Banana Republic is of no consequence
79. To: No. 72
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.19.11)
1. Jews inhabited the land long before the concept "Arab" even came into being. 2. The ersatz "Palestinians" come primarily from the Hejaz in the western Arabian desert. They only arrived in Mandatory Palestine after the Jews turned a desolate desert and malarial swamps into a blooming garden. 3. The vast majority of Arabs who transited through Mandatory Palestine -- and through Palestine under Ottoman rule -- were nomads. Their fanciful stories about olive groves and fruit orchards are precisely that -- fantasies. Palestine was a desolate, barren and barely inhabited until the Jews of the First and Second Aliyot came. 4. Nomads do not "own" land. The Arabic language does not even have a concept of "land ownership." Please address your ignorance by studying history and the facts.
80. You can't just annex the WB one day. It takes time...
Vlad   (09.19.11)
First, you have to covertly fund NGOs helping Palestinians move abroad. You can't publicly pay them to leave or the world will accuse Israel of "ethnic cleansing". You have to reach secret finance agreements with NGOs like the Jerusalem Summit think-tank, who will compensate Palestinian families who leave. Next, you have to announce your intention to annex, dissolve the Palestinian Authority, and improve the standard of living in the West Bank for the remaining Palestinians. When the standard of living rises, the birthrate drops. And finally, you annex via a law in the Knesset that applies Israeli law, jurisdiction, and administration to the Judea and Samaria Area. Then, you do what Israel did when East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights were annexed: Give the residents permanent residency with an option of citizenship if they swear loyalty to Israel and renounce other citizenships. Israel might also have to consider raising the voter threshold to something like 8% so that the Palestinians won't be able to vote in too many treasonous Arab MKs.
81. The whole text writting by author is just what I say and

82. #66 jealous? Before discus here learn some history
Yoav ,   Germany   (09.19.11)
Brookly belong to U.S. . The "Jewish autonome region" is situated in Russia. "Comrade" Stalin found it to DEPORTED JEWS from all places of ex USSR. P.S. You better move with you "brothers and cousines" to Saudi Aravia were you comming and occupied my Israel
83. #77, no need to expel the Arabs.
Jake ,   USA   (09.19.11)
They are Jordanian citizens living in Israel. The author did not state once that they must be expelled. Israel will respect their human rights so long as they respect Israel's national right to annex Judea & Samaria.

The Palestinians don't want Jordan to be Palestinian? Then why did they try to take it over from King Hussein, who had to respond with Black September?
85. #66 ibrahim
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.20.11)
You obviously have not been to Israel. Israelis are of all colors; blonds are probably in the minority. Many, if not most, are from arabic countries and probably resemble you more than you would like to admit. These are the people Abbas refers to when he wants any “Palestine” to be judenrein. They speak many languages. Hebrew is not as different from arabic as you would like to believe. Probably about as different as drija [Moroccan arabic] is from your own language, whichever arabic that is. The fake state, which never existed and was only spoken of after the ’67 war, would be a new “Palestine”.
86. #72 tony
solomon ,   bklyn   (09.20.11)
The arabs came from arabia with the arabic conquest in the 600’s CE. [get it?] Canaanites, and whatever other groups you want to lay claim to, did not exist anymore. One cannot attach people to a land by claiming that they are descendants of peoples that did not exist for centuries. You cannot use soap that has already been used up.

You have a computer Tony-please use it.You are truly ignorant about history. Post 79 is a good answer to yours.
88. Very telling
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.20.11)
I see the comments about ethnic cleansing when we state that foreign nationals need to return to their own country. But absolute silence when the Arabs demand not only ethnic cleansing of Jews for a 2nd time, but also genocide. So cry me a river if they get what they demand of us. Too fucking bad assholes.
89. Hahaha
