1. This will be a disaster for the PA
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (09.19.11)
Bibi is a great orator and destroyed Obama when he rejected the '67 borders, and he's set to give a very strong speech on Friday. The General Assembly is of course weighted against Israel because of the number of Islamic countries that exist, but imagine if Bibi says something similar to: If you accept the PA proposal then be aware that the Oslo accords will be canceled immediately. Israel will no longer collect taxes for the PA. Israel will close its borders with Gaza and annex all or parts of the West Bank. The PA will lose almost all international funding because it will be a State. So please decide very carefully how you vote, because the onus is on you. I expect Bibi to make a similar speech. He will also ram home the fact that the PA want a Jew Free State and will not recognize Israel as a Jewish State. This will all turn out badly for the PA
2. Love the photo of Abbas.
briton ,   england   (09.19.11)
"They tried to make me go to Israel, I said no, no, no".
3. truth.
Fortunato Ricardo ,   Londrina Brazil   (09.19.11)
isn't it all just a big charade? the biggest of them all? ever? isn't it? please. +The YHWH Theory.
4. Israel-please forgive our Scandinavian foreign ministers!
Jouko ,   Finland   (09.19.11)
Israel-we as citizens of Scandinavian countries ask you to forgive the bad attitude our many Foreign ministers have. They don't understand what they are doing and supporting. The Scandinavian leaders are so far away from the living God. They are really 'pagan' leaders whose minds are blinded by modern philosophy and humanish and so called 'tolerance'. They are completeley ignorant about Biblical values! Israel-please forgive us our blindness!
5. the Oslo accords
israeli ,   israel   (09.19.11)
The PLO was allowed to return from its Tunisian exile according to the Oslo accords. Should these be cancelled, I expect the Israeli authorities to invite the PA/PLO/Fatah representatives to seek asylum asap.
6. This will be great for Palestinian people..
Chris.B ,   Australia   (09.19.11)
who I'm sure realise that Israel with the help of its puppets in the Whitehouse has never had any intention to let the Palestians be free or have a state. So its time to call the game. Its always been an Israeli policy to delay, deceive and keep expanding on stolen land while talking peace with the International community. It's ironic that Israel was able to unilaterally declare a state without consent of the local inhabitants or the region. Must be scary to think the oppressed have rights and will triumph hey Israel. What a shame your've forgotten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7. Donor States - few delivered
Jonny ,   Cape Town   (09.19.11)
Donor states? what does that mean, many have pledged money, few have delivered.
8. the guy does not intend to breach the UN charter
observer ,   Egypt   (09.19.11)
recognition of Jewish Israel state is not self-determination, but Palestine state is.
9. Mass expulsion to Jordan, Egypt is the only answer
Yaniv ,   Israel   (09.19.11)
10. Hypocrisy
Jacob Erickson ,   Holon, Israel   (09.19.11)
He refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish State, just days after people in his government say that Palestine should be without any Jewish presence. Arab and Muslim states are just fine... but a Jewish state... never. Idiots.
11. The Abbas Platform
Deebo_ ,   Holon   (09.19.11)
Refuse the existence of a Jewish homeland and demand a totally Jew-free Palestinian state and not accept any compromises. OK nations, place your votes.
12. The 'dime that want's to become a $$$
tiki ,   belgium   (09.19.11)
The Western 'civilized' world, including the Superpower USA is being held in a stranglehold by a man calling himself 'PM but isn't, his partner calling himself 'President but isn't, people calling themselves 'Palestinians but aren't, claiming land they never posessed, wanting rights & recognition based on a fantasy and envorcing it by terror & blackmail. They came as workers who now claim to be the owners. The Western 'civilized world should be ashamed of itself, waisting all this time, money & energy on this pipedream of delusional people, represented by non elected leaders. Abbas has becom the modern 'Pied piper of Hamelin.
13. Michael # 1 you sound like Alan
ben   (09.19.11)
Dershowitz with his revisionist history. Bibi and Lieberman have no intention of honoring Oslo. If you simply google " the missing link in the peace process" you can read about the 2001 audio tape of Bibi boasting how he will not honor Oslo. Oslo was dead as soon as the people of Israel voted for Bibi. Did you ever hear Bibi on Pat Robertson and the 700 club. Bibi does not want peace he and those he represents want the land possibly even Greater Israel. Abass has only three choises to start another Intafata continue the occupaion andcwatch the illeagal settlments continue to be built or go to the UN. Abbas has no choice but to go to the UN. Bibi loves the settlments more than peace . Remember Obama and Clinton even dangled the release of J pollard , but Bibi who has visited Pollard in prison chose the settlments.
14. They recognize the state of Israel
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (09.19.11)
and if Israel wishes to describe itself as Jewish, that is up to them. Israel just seems to want the international community to grant it the express right to always limit the number of non-Jews in their nation and to take whatever steps it deems necessary to sustain the "Jewish nature" of the state. By getting such language introduced into any peace agreements it signs with the Arabs grants them permission to carry out ethnic cleansing with international blessing.
15. US just restating Israels position
Jon ,   Baltimore US   (09.19.11)
The US is simply telling the PA they must accept Israels dictates which is why the PA is now coming to the UN. The US serves only Israel. They must go elsewhere for any justice.
16. #9 adds to transferring occupying state's population?
observer ,   Egypt   (09.19.11)
17. To #4 Jouko in Finland
John ,   Alaska   (09.19.11)
It's okay - Western nations in general have this problem with their leaders, because we have this problem with the institutions that produce them. As Jouko says, I also say about the current occupant of the White House and the executive branch of our government: please forgive them; they are both ignorant and misled. Please forgive both America and Scandinavia; both have people who revere the G-d of the Bible, and therefore are friends of Israel, regardless of the actions of our leaders.
18. "Never have so many people wasted so
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.19.11)
much time (and money) over such a futile endeavour "
19. Abbas wants to rewrite Moses' Torah
Norbus ,   Jerusalem   (09.19.11)
I knew Abbas was stupid, now I know he is an idiot. He can lead his people out of Israel to the fertile crescent, with Hamas taking the hordes of Azza back to Egypt
20. No Problem. We say NO to a Palestinian state. SO THERE!
shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (09.19.11)
21. Shame!
Joshua ,   Nairobi - Kenya   (09.19.11)
I guess number 6 is not an Aborigine and if that is true you only need to remember the shamelessness with which your fathers dealt the Australians, you have no shame! Israel fights for what belongs to her by tenure, by conquer and by God's fiat among others. Who are this people who think they can lecture the rest of us after robbing other people their lands. Are you so quick to forget your colonial past. Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22. #6 Unbelievable clap trap - you are an embarrassment
Scott ,   Australia   (09.19.11)
I must apologise for Chris B. Its blatantly obvious that Chris has absolutely no idea of what he's talking about. Its clearly evident all his misconceptions of what the conflict is all about has been fed to him by the Palestinians never-ending bullshit factory - backed up by dreamy left-wing activists home grown and imported. I'd like to ask Chris if he's ever been to Israel? He certainly sounds like a typical outsider that thinks he knows something about a situation - but in reality has not a clue.
23. #6 What "Palestinian" people?
Menachem ,   Israel   (09.19.11)
The Jews is the indigenous population of Israel just like the Aboriginals is the indigenous population of Australia. No wonder that colonialists like you identify with the Arab imperialists in the land of Israel, the ancestral and eternal homeland of the Jewish nation.
24. Chris B the occupation settler in Australia
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.19.11)
Chris - strange words coming from a shining example of how to steal an entire continent from its rightful owners - yes, you Christ, the successful Aussie land thief and occupier. It's ironic that Israel was not "unilaterally" declared as a state, but was voted in by the UN, yet you Aussies stole the Aborigine's land and then unilaterally declared it yours. What a shame you left those facts out of your talkback. As for expanding on stolen land - you're the expert, Chris. But we Israelis are not using your Australian model - we're actually willing to split our homeland with the Pals, but they refuse to negotiate. So Chris, are you going to split Australia in half and give some of it back to its rightful owners? No? I didn't think so. Big talker you...
25. Psalm 83
Joshua ,   Nairobi - Kenya   (09.19.11)
It is good it is happening and Israel's king is not asleep. Their council whichever way it goes is an evil council and the God of Abraham does not sit with such councils. The L-RD is aware of the 'plottings,' and that is good enough.
26. Jon. History was a lesson
Silvan ,   IL   (09.19.11)
History taught us to distrust you. I am unwilling to live in your countries under the threat of being persecuted, gazed and ripped off my belongings. You have done it each time your economy hit rock bottom. I am not your scapegoat anymore.
27. deinitions a waste of time
yaacovic   (09.19.11)
Why is everyone wasting time with definitions? Are we that insecure? Israel defines itself. The Palestinian state defines itself. We do not need the Palestinians to define Israel as Jewish in order for it to be so. Israel is Jewish and Palestine Palestinian and they can claim to be so as long as they are predominatly Jewish and Palestinian demographically. Anyway a peace and cooperation accord between the two states is a tacit acceptance of the other's right to self define. No more is necessary.
28. @ 14
pini ,   usa/israel   (09.19.11)
Are you retarded?
29. The Flying Spaghetti Monster has now promised Israel to me
Edward ,   Sydney, Australia   (09.19.11)
The Flying Spaghetti Monster instructs me to give this as an excuse for why my people have more right to the land than others. Unlike the bible and quran, the Flying Spaghetti Monster has made no scientific errors in his holy book, so his promise carries the most weight :) He says not to worry about not being a native. The bible says the Jews stole the land by murdering the and slaving the original inhabitants, then the Arabs applied the same formula. Stay long enough and you become the 'original owner' despite the ones before you.
30. European "leader" at best imcompentent.
Michael   (09.19.11)
The wolf has taken its sheep skin off for the world to see. The problem is the world doesn't care. Israel needs to fend and think for itself.
