Bummer ,   Israel   (09.19.11)

33. Catchy Title !
Neil Turner ,   Watford, UK   (09.19.11)
I'm so glad that israel now has an alternative to CNN, the BBC, and Al Jaz. I would suggest you look at the title again though, as JN1 doesn't really do it for me. That said, I hope and pray for its success. Will it be available via Sky in the UK ?
34. Good news everyone!
Mark ,   Jerusalem   (09.19.11)
It is actually a great idea that it finally has happened. We need a channel that CAN and WILL report news from Israeli point of view. Except that such channels in other countries (Al-Jazeera, Russia Today etc ) are existing due to the government and therefore will always support positions of their country. Good luck to them and I hope they won't become new haaretz.
35. Will it broadcast on Virgin Media?
Barry ,   UK   (09.20.11)
36. Agree with # 24
Beary White ,   Norway   (09.19.11)
Give us an english-speaking radio 24 in addition. Nice to have on the laptop..
37. #9 Are you joking?
Phil ,   Ireland   (09.19.11)
You gave me a great laugh! Al Jazeera not biased? That shows your own bias. You need to be more true to your faith and stop lying. I look forward to watching the new Jewish channel. It is much needed with the lies from the likes of Al Jazeera.
38. Jewish A J: As if we don't have enough
DT ,   TA Israel   (09.19.11)
of Left wing trash domestically and globaly aginst Israel
39. pro-Israel international news network
Kay Bagon ,   Radlett UK   (09.19.11)
At last!
40. #9 Absolutely right you are!
A ,   Belgium   (09.19.11)
"Whenever you mention a particular religion in the name of a news channel, you know it's not going to be honest and objective" .And that is why in order to give Israel fair representation in televised world news, there must be a Jewish/Israeli news station that will not only show arab mothers weeping when their sons kill themselves in suicide attacks, but will also show Jewish mothers weeping when their children are slaughtered in their beds, or when their school buses are attacked. And maybe also show the technological, medical and other advancements Israeli science has to offer which the world would NEVER see on Al-Jazeera or most western news broadcasters. Now lets see about the honesty and objective part...I for sure wouldn't bet on Al-Jazeera asbeing an example.
41. Shame on Ynet!!
Ben ,   NYC   (09.19.11)
because it is "jewish" it is compared to al jazeera, shame on u..how far have you fallen...like ynet is fair also, every article is bash the religious, grow up....
42. I don't get it..
Yoann D. ,   Tel Aviv   (09.20.11)
The entire point is to have a news network with a pro-Israel editorial line. An answer to al-jazeera... So the goal is not to target a jewish audience, but to target all non-jews.. Why call it Jewish News? And why not put up an arabic version of the channel?? All this seems a little pointless..
43. Radio News Talk
Richard ,   Macon USA   (09.19.11)
Israel News Talk radio will also be launching soon. English language talk radio to educate and empower non Israelis for Israel advocacy. See www.israelnewstalk.com
44. other languages needed
nadav   (09.20.11)
they MUST also broadcast in Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Spanish, Portuguese, and Mandarin! it' a must!
45. No 9 - What planet are you from
Emma ,   London   (09.20.11)
Al Jezeera unbiased? Pull the other one.
46. People really should count...
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.20.11)
People are saying there will not be Arabic. Look at the count of languages though. They said there will be eight. They have named English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian and Russian. That is six. There is still room for Arabic and one other language. Then again, I am wondering how safe it would be, if they only hired Jewish correspondents, for those Jewish correspondents to reside in and report from most Arabic-speaking nations.
47. So now every culture hears what it wants to hear?
N.Postman ,   NYC   (09.20.11)
This is not good for the media, and it's not good for the Jewish communities that will be watching it. Why watch opinionated news that you already agree with? just so it can reassure yourself that you're right? What if we're wrong? That's what journalism is supposed to ask. When asked what he reads everyday, Eli Yishai (from the right wing religious party "Shas") said he opens his mornings by reading "Haaretz" (a left leaning newspaper). "Just so I can see what th enemy is thinking" he jokingly said. Jokes aside, his method is right. Understand what others are thinking and you become richer, stronger and able to connect better with the people who think differently than you. Most people tend to forget that media is about connecting people, not dividing them. Good luck with the channel. I hope you bring some correspondents who will lead actual conversations and not pat the viewers on the back.
48. Al Jezeera in Hebrew
Bernard ,   Holland/Israel   (09.20.11)
All our friends who suggest JN1 should be also in Arabic and Persian, please note that Israel *Radio* already does that for ages (but who listens?) Once Al Jezeera *TV* will broadcast in Hebrew, then JN1 can reconsider....
49. Remember Africa
Tom,Lagos ,   lagos   (09.20.11)
Good news, now israel and world jewry will have the chance to say their own version of the story but remember africa ,let the new jewish network extends its signals to africa because israel has lots of friends and enemies in africa.
50. There already is a Jewish Al-Jazeera. It's called Fox News.
Edward ,   Sydney, Australia   (09.21.11)
51. Please hire a more creative marketing manager
Edward ,   Sydney, Australia   (09.21.11)
"Jewish News 1"? Wow real creative. With so much money to establish a news channel couldn't they have hired a better marketing firm? Al Jazeera would never have been as popular as it is if it were called something like "Arab news channel".
52. Agreed with #51
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.21.11)
There is barely any info about their launch. It took two days to write that Wikipedia article as a result of the scarcity of info. I think I did a good job with what I have, but still. We didn't even find the bloody official website until last night, and it is pretty much empty. This is a bit of a rocky start I think.
53. 24/6
moshe ,   Jerusalem   (09.21.11)
If we are talking about Judaism then it should be 24/6 and not 24/7
54. This is great news indeed!!
Shalome Aleichem ,   Colorado, US   (09.21.11)
55. @#53
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.21.11)
They're talking about the Jewish people, not just Judaism. Though it will be interesting to see how the treat Shabbat.
56. There is FOX
steve ,   USA   (09.21.11)
you have Fox news to spread Zionist lies and pro-Israel propaganda, you dont need more..
57. @#56
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.22.11)
You should at least actually view the channel before jumping to conclusions. It's when people jump to conclusions that they say and do stupid things.
58. Preaching to the choir
Eric ,   San Diego, USA   (09.22.11)
There is one big problem with this project: the only people who will watch this channel are those who are already pro-Israel. Unfortunately, this preaching to the choir is not likely to influence public opinion enough to make a difference. But at least, it will give us some satisfaction that there is at least one pro-Israel channel in the world. Eric.
59. Long overdue!
Nechama ,   Sydney, Australia   (09.22.11)
I'm so glad to hear this. Just hope they don't support Obama and his agenda for the USA and Israel. And hope they have a word to Spielberg, who seems to be an Obama zombie too.
60. No 29 John
Arturo   (09.22.11)
Sorry John, the second largest voting block for both FOX and CNN is held by "Prince" Alawaleed ibn Talal of Kingdom Holdings. He also owns significant amounts of Disney (ABC) and GE (NBC) YOUR news comes through a Saudi filter, not a Jewish one, but hey, they love it when you say that... gets them off the hook and makes the J-E-W-S look bad
