1. No BDS'ers yelling outside.? Turkey there when it suits them
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE   (09.20.11)
2. More proof Israel is far from "isolated"
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (09.20.11)
All of the Israel-haters out there are gonna hate this story. It shows that Israel is not isolate. It shows that Turkey still deals with us. It shows that Israel leads the way. It shows that we're not apartheid. It shows that we're civilized, while our neighbors are ....well, you don't hear about any Arab country training anybody in search and rescue techniques, do you? And as for Colonel Anwar Saab, he is one capable and cool dude. I met him at an IDF Home Command exercise a few years ago and was totally impressed with his professionalism. The guy should make general one day.
3. "Apartheid" Country With A Druze Commander
Eric ,   Canada   (09.20.11)
Isnt it interesting how this "Apartheid" country has a commander who is a Druze. Anwar Saab is the Home Front Command's Northern District Chief Colonel. This is ruining Israel's "apartheid" image.
4. Yet another example of apartheid Israel! Er.. Wait a moment
Yitzhak ,   Israel   (09.20.11)
So the guy in charge of my safety here in the Galilee is Colonel Anwar Saab. I am proud to have a Druze officer ensuring the safety of all of us in the north -- Jews, Druze, Arab Christians and Muslims. Yes, yet another example of Israeli "apartheid." As for the BDSers. May they be like a lamp: hang by day, burn by night and be snuffed out in the morning.
5. I AGREE WILL ALL YOU
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.20.11)
I'm laughing at the people who say Israel is "isolated". Except when it comes to, how and save lives during a crisis or natural disaster, right? As so many have all pointed out, I guess Israel isn't the pariah, the Arab "talking points" memo says it is? You see if you want to know how to kill innocent people, you talk to the Arab terrorists (Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, al-Qaeda etc.). But if want to learn how save lives, why then you to Israel.
6. I'm not at all sure ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.20.11)
... that Israel ought to be in the business of potentially saving Turkish lives. At least not until Turkey apologizes for having fomented, endorsed, underwritten and financed the illegal attempt by the MAVI MARMARA, et al. to breach a fully legal and internationally recognized blockade of the Gaza Strip. The next time they get an 8.5 on the Richter, they had better not look to Israel for any help, the ungrateful wretches. I'm sure Iran and Syria will step up to the plate. Yeah, right.
7. Israel is doing the right thing here
John ,   Alaska   (09.21.11)
Venting is important, and the leadership of Turkey has given more than adequate reason for anger. It's also important to be light. The Turkish civilian who is saved by a first responder trained by MDA, the soldier who received life-saving training, these people will hear their leaders spewing bile about the Israeli friends they made in these exercises, and they will reject the thugs who crept into leadership of their country. At least, I truly hope so.
8. NATO - MAGEN DAVID
Brian ,   Buffalo, NY   (09.27.11)
Way to go Israel. Now why is Turkey in NATO? Anyone?
