1. Slaughter of American Indians?
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.21.11)
Really? They're talking about something that ended about 120 years ago. One hundred and twenty. That is over half the age of our country and that was a much different United States.
2. Obama has lost my vote
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.21.11)
...let the tie Right Wing Nutjobs take over so that they can destroy themselves, again.
3. Obama & Pals deserve Academy Awards
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (09.21.11)
Strong words of support for Israel from Obama. Outrage from the Palestinians...It's all staged to fool Jewish and pro-Israel voters into re-electing Obama. Hussein Obama, our Liar-In-Chief, told the Pals to be patient just one more year. He promised to deliver Jerusalem to them on a silver platter - right after the election.
4. "Entire Region Deserves Liberty": FROM YOURSELVES
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (09.21.11)
Who is occupying saudi arabia, egypt, syria, jordan, Kuwait, Libya, etc., etc.??? What a stupid statement, full of arrogance and ignorance. Liberty from yourselves is the only thing you seem to want...along with liberty from islam or to practice it in its most barbaric form. "We expect to hear...Liberty for the palestinains." What a joke! What an absolute JOKE!!!
5. If you are not satisfied,
Eli ,   Yerushalayim   (09.21.11)
try to find another broker, maybe Syria or North Korea. They really support you.
6. Palestinan pre-conditons make negotiations impossible!
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (09.21.11)
The Palestinians pre-conditions that they will not accept Israel as a Jewish State and will not allow Jews to live in any new Palestinian State mean that no negotiations are possible. Building freezes etc might be negotiable but the above isn't.
7. Give that man a cigar!
er der   (09.21.11)
Palestinian political analyst Hani al-Masri is a genius! He noted that "Obama adopted Israel's stance in his speech. This is the US' permanent position, as its ties with Israel are stronger than its ties with the Arabs." well DER!!!! No wonder some still try to pin 9/11 on Israel... But I think it's all pretty clear who the US would naturally side with. Yup.... genius that ol' Hani boy...
8. The only way
ghj ,   Passaic, USA   (09.21.11)
the Palestinians will ever get a state is for all Arabs to quit to threaten Israel's existence. Hamas would have to quit attacking Israel. It does not want the state to be a secular, democratic one. Hamas is not represented in the Palestinian delegation to the UN. Palestinian leaders would much rather continue to breed hatred toward Israel and operate in a climate of non structure and dysfunction than don the mantle of responsibility implicit in either negotiation or true statehood. Terrorists attacked Israeli civilians near Eilat and killed eight. Hamas has essentially rejected the two state solution. If Abbas leads the Palestinians to statehood and then retires, Hamas will take over the West Bank as it did in the Gaza Strip with all it portends. Will peace talks isolate Hamas? What would indicate this?
9. Palestinians
Steven Kantor ,   L.A USA   (09.21.11)
Maybe its beginning to sink into the Palestinian minds that their attempt to evade negotiations and their inability to compromise is getting them nowhere. The longer they wait, the less land they will have for any future Palestinian state.
10. Obama UN address angers Paalestinians
magpie ,   palmdale, USA   (09.21.11)
O.K., PA, blame the USA again! You aren't winning converts that way. I don't always agree with Obama, but this time he is right. The Palestinians have had many, many chances to negotiate peace in the past, but can't bring themselves to acknowlege Israel as a country. Anwar Sadat negotiated with M. Begin and they both were assinated. There are people in the ME that will ruin any and all chances of peace. Radicals on all sides share blame.
11. #10 Correction: Begin was not assassinated; Rabin was.

13. King Abdullah of Jordan
Joe ,   Ft. Lauderdale, USA   (09.22.11)
Hey, King Abdullah of Jordan! Getting nervous, aren't you? You're next!
14. Arab Spring!
joe ,   st louis usa   (09.22.11)
"We expected to hear that the liberty of the Palestinian people is the key to the Arab spring," he said. Exactly! It seems that Palestinians are not the key to the Arab Spring after all, nor to the Arab world, nor to peace on earth, nor to just about anything. Just a small group of highly self centered people, who have turned down 5 separate offers for independence that the people of Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Syria and Libya would (and do!) die for.
15. Israel CONQUERED the arabs. It is now ISRAELI land, not
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (09.22.11)
"occupied" land and the "pals" might have a land of their own IF they are polite and negotiate in good faith. But, not much chance of that, now is there?
16. # 1...you're spreading lies..
Edithann ,   USA   (09.22.11)
TWO WRONGS NEVER MADE A RIGHT'! tata
17. Dont build settlements in Yehudah and Shomron,
Susan ,   Kfar Saba   (09.22.11)
Build cities!
18. Notice the word "retreat"...
William ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
rather than "leave" or "pull back from" occupied territories. It shows the real purpose of this UN bid and all goals trying to justify their violence against Israel. They are trying to win the 1967 war by reclaiming lands won by Israel (after being ethnically cleansed and illegally annexed by Arabs) for nothing in return. In other words "We caused the Israelis to RETREAT from the land, and will continue to push them into the sea". Hamas used the same rhetoric to honor their own violence after Israel unilaterally pullback from Jewish lands in Gaza to foster peace.
19. #3 - do you really think this is worthy of an Oscar?
William ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
The forced drama is more deserving of a daytime Emmy.
20. number ten and eleven for the record
ben   (09.22.11)
I believe the PLO accepted Israel's right to exist in the nintes. Rabin Arafat Nobel peace prize. Emil Grunzweig was assasinated with a handgrenade. Rabin's assasination is applauded by many in Israel even today. Look up Par Robertsons comments when Rabin was killed. Also Google ' the missing link in the peace process' in it you will hear an audio tape of Bibi promising to not honor Oslo and also to sabatage Oslo. There are many in Israel that do not want peace not just Bibi and Lieberman
21. to magpie - Are you serious?
jorge ,   dc   (09.22.11)
The P.A negotiated from a weak position. Egypt negotiated from a strong position. That is the difference. Palestinians were asked to sign an agreement that rents to Israel %20 of the their state, IS THAT FAIR? They were asked to exchange 6% of the land with Israel. This is the best deal. NO, that is not good for us and it is better to fight for equal rights in ONE state than having a Palestinian fake state. As for Obama, Doesn't the fact that elections in America decided on people stand on Israel scare you? I mean people care about Israel more than they care about America. Good for you!
22. #11 Sorry, my poor research/memory!
magpie ,   palmdale USA   (09.22.11)
23. #20 Robin's peace treaty
Iranian Jew ,   La   (09.22.11)
We are in this predicament just because of that. He failed to get Jordan and Egypt to fulfil their own duties. Gaza and WB should have been decided then. The peace treaty was just an excuse not to finish the process. Jordan is Palestine.
24. # 8 Hamas
Harvey ,   London   (09.22.11)
If israel were to pull out of the west bank , Hamas will take over whether Abbas retires or not . The PA will last as long as they did in gaza . Hamas are biding their time for a full take over of the west bank just as Egypt will fall to the Muslim Brotherhood
25. Now, all that the PLO needs to do is to finally accept ...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.22.11)
... Israel's right to be, to exist as the independent nation-state of the Jewish people; and, agree to accept a peace treaty as the end of the conflict and the end of all future demands. Are they ready and able to so...??!!
26. Henry from New York #1 just one question
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.22.11)
Have you given the surviving Indians their land back?
27. Obama is pandering to the Jewish vote.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (09.22.11)
He'll abandon the Jews as soon as they re-elect him into office again.
28. #2 Steve Benassi - No big deal
