1. Get rid of Erdogan and bring back
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (09.25.11)
previous military leaders and then perhaps there could be a return of Israeli tourism. As long as you have an Islam in power, Israelis would be very wise not to travel to Turkey.
2. We're All Already Going to Cyprus & Greece
Raz ,   Rischlach   (09.25.11)
Great deals, warm people, beautiful country, and the Greeks know what it's like to constantly have to defend themselves against extremist Islam. Turkey has lost favor in Israel, US, and EU. In the end, Turkey is still nothing but a third-world, dirt poor country full of extremism that will never be seen as European or Western. Deal with it.
3. TURKEY
AV ,   ISRAEL   (09.25.11)
Any Israeli that goes to TURKEY need to have his head examined! HAD A WONDERFUL WEEK IN VARNA BULGARIA. BOYCOTT! boycott countries that their leaders are barbarians and savages against Israel.
4. Turkish ambassy cries for Israel money...
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (09.25.11)
Turkey wants Israel money, not Israel friendship and turkey should know that Greece is absolutely beautiful, cheap and Greek are nice people.who needs to go to Turkey?Greece has so much to offer to Israel and Europe, that nobody in Europe needs Turkey!!!!!!
5. French Tourist Boom
melissa ,   muğla   (09.25.11)
who visited Turkey in 2011 January and September, the number of French tourists increased by 45 percent compared to the previous year, reached 1 million 250 thousand.
6. #1 Barbara has it right
John ,   Alaska   (09.25.11)
#2 and #3 are right also, but Barbara has the best idea. All you have to do is get rid of Erdogan and the Islamists and Israel and Turkey would be friends. The only thing that's stopping them is the fire and brimstone that Erdogan has been spewing against Israel. Otherwise the two countries will prosper as they have before.
7. To Isreali Jews...you are being blessed with wealth
Al   (09.25.11)
as the west is tanking. The Jews of America and some in Canada are experiencing down economies. Indeed many Jews are today down and out. I know many Jews in their 50's and 60's who have lost everything due to the economic upheaval In the good times they never saved a nickel and would never have been caught dead shopping at a Wal Mart. Today they run to shul to eat kiddush and drag along their grown kids as well to partake of the free meal. I warn you...save your money and dont spend it freely. You have a beautiful allbeit a tiny country. Enjoy it, cherish it and protect it. Its your forever. Living in the golus is a horror show especially when one is ill.
8. Yeah but you're likely to get harrassed at the airport
Gili Boy the Dude ,   Vivla Vista Viv   (09.25.11)
So better to go to Bulgaria, Greece or Cyprus otherwise you won't be relaxed...
9. CNN
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (09.25.11)
How will this happen when Erdogan, on CNN, threatens to cut ties with Israel ?
10. Turkey!
Dave ,   Holon   (09.25.11)
I've been to Istanbul twice, only recieved the warmest welcome from turks. It'd be an enormous shame to let Erdogan take this from us with his ego games, and I will be going back soon
11. Travel to turkey should be made illegal!
jason white ,   afula, israel   (09.25.11)
Any travel agency that sells tickets, tours or whatever to turkey should be closed or the public should boycott them. I had a great twelve days in New York. Went to Walmarts in Valley Stream, Cosco, ate real pastrami and chinese food. Who needs eurabia?
12. Alll that past tourism didn't help maintain those ties
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (09.25.11)
"Tourism builds ties between countries," he says. But clearly, with Erdogan and AKP at the helm, they failed to "guarantee that other types of relations will be improved as well." I wonder how many of those today calling about resumption of charter flights are Arab Israelis. (Yes, I know some Jewish Israelis are a little deficient in the "self-respect" department.)
13. after what happened to Erdogan in the UN
ghostq   (09.25.11)
assembly I think not only Israelies will keep away from Turkey but also other tourists from other countries will.
14. Let s be real..Turkey need our money to be a superpower
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (09.25.11)
..it is us,with our money that make turkey economy ...so let s say no to Islamist Erdogan, let s say NO to antisemitic Turkey, until prove different.. Let s show Arrogant Turkey that, without our money, they go nowhere...when Turkey apologize to Israel,to Europe and to US for bben so arrogant, than maybe we can see Turkey again...This beast needs a lesson before is too late....
15. Turkey welcomes you
melissa ,   muğla   (09.25.11)
Turks are the most hospitable people in the world.Only country you feel yourself like you are at home is Turkey not los-angeles or germany or france or japan.
16. Mr. Erdogan may be a very honorable man
Miron ,   USA   (09.25.11)
He might even look like a hero to Turkish people. I am not anybody's judge. But seeing his men cutting stomach of IDF soldier on a screen first, and seen Mr. Erdogan jumping up and down with calls for war, apologies, compensation... The madman needs to get back to sanity or things will go bad way. We are very kind people, but Mr. Erdogan has left few pathways for our kindness. And to great misfortune it reflects not on his persona but on Israeli - Turkish relationship.
17. are u ?
Adnan ,   Konya   (09.25.11)
jerk ?Hay lady what type of drugs u are using ? Greek is poor country and will be sink soon. No chance for them with your money ? Greece is a poor country, check with economical docs jerk ?
18. to #17 more reason to invest in Greec,
ghostq   (09.26.11)
the tourist industry might give a boost to the Greek economy, improve it so not only you go to have fun in Greec but you also help to improve their economy with a lil tourist cash, duh
19. #14. Let s be real..Turkey need our money to be a superpower
Happy ,   Turkey   (09.25.11)
You gotta be kidding, right?
20. Are they reallly that stupid?
Francisco ,   Madrid, Spain   (09.25.11)
If they go back to finance Erdogan, then Israelis do not deserve Israel o any state.
21. Bomb in Kemer and Bodrum were kept hush hush
Sami ,   New York, USA   (09.25.11)
Bombs in Kemer and Bodrum were kept hush hush. Turkey is dangerous.
22. #15 Erdogan rolled out unwelcome mat
Cynthia ,   USA   (09.25.11)
He will welcome Islamists to your country which will turn off western tourists. The way Erdogan treated Israel and destroyed business ties between Israel and Turkey was very ugly. It's a shame and I only have pity for the Turkish people. Israelis have already found alternate vacation destinations and reports indicate they're quite happy with the change.
23. Tourism as means of
Nina ,   NYC   (09.26.11)
Getting Mossad in.
24. Have you ever been to Turkey?
RAY KARAOZ ,   los angeles ca   (09.26.11)
I have been to Turkey, Greece, Cyprus and Israel and you are telling me that Turkey is a 3rd world country? Everything starts with airlines and airports that is how I tell if the country is 3rd world or not? I am sorry Raz but where have been?
25. Turkey badly need Israel and EU,nobody needs Turkey!!!!
Anna M Sedda ,   Rome-Italy   (09.26.11)
This is really Turkish problem...
26. Beware Israelis: terrorism in Turkey is on the rise!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.26.11)
Nowadays, almost every week we hear about terrorist attacks in Turkey. The situations with the PKK is getting bad, and all signs show that it will get much worse. I would stay away from Turkey for security reasons, if not for politcal reasons.
27. Ray Karaoz from CA
David Israel ,   New York USA   (09.27.11)
I have beento all the places you mentioned in fact I was born and raised in Tirkey, Izmir to be precise. Last year I took my family to visit. My wife had to visit the ladies room at Istanbul domestic airport but from the bad smell and dirt she could not. Sounds exactly like a 3rd world country to me. Let ma also add the flies even at best restaurants in Istanbul flying over our food.
28. Erdogan and Karagoz
Avi ,   USA   (09.26.11)
An airline and an airport does not make a country. I know Turkey inside and out.
