1. The overlap of Octoberfest and Rosh Hashna is inspiring.

2. Another inside joke article?
Josh   (09.30.11)
I see the mockery being done here. It has that great deny-ability angle but anyone who knows Israelis knows this article is fodder and not really a culture piece. Parade the friars around? Shame shame. "what is good and righteous in G-d's eyes" is not what this article is all about. Just don't laugh when they do it back to you.
3. Josh - you're being paranoid
Yoram   (09.30.11)
Being Israeli, I don't think nobody here meant to mock anyone - people are just curious about how foreigners precieve them. "Anyone who knows Isrealis", Are you actually serious? Seriously, get a grip. Anyone who knows American knows you guys like to make a fuss out silly things. Shana Tova
4. Gefilta fish - yeah that's Israeli
(09.30.11)
Was Germany really the promised land? What a shame to not see a mizrachi, Yemenite, Yom Teruah table.
5. Leek patties (keftes di prass) is a Turkish dish.
Alex   (10.01.11)
Keftes di prassa (prasali kofte in Turkish) must have been brought to Israel by Turkish Jewish immigrants or from other former Ottoman Turkish ruled regions. Interesting that this dish has become one of the main dishes of Israeli Rosh haShana dinners.
