1. Didn't they say this two weeks ago
Danny   (09.29.11)
and it turned out to be a lie....
2. Obama to veto
Sue ,   USA   (09.29.11)
It will look good later, when Palestine is a state.
3. This is the SAME al-Malki who BOASTS...
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (09.29.11)
...that there will be 150 nations who recognise the pali state by THIS month (Sep) when the palis submit their UN bid. Did NOT happen. Same al-Malki also BOASTS that 10 countries WILL recognise the pali state in March alone. And the 10 countries are : - Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay, Uruguay. In betting circles, this is a LOSER.
4. Not suprised
Sam M ,   UK   (09.29.11)
No doubt that the US will veto but looking to the future as the pressure grows a scenario where the bogus palestinian cause is nodded through the security council is a distinct possibility. Israel should annex all settlement blocks and all land outside large palestinian urban areas to nip this potentially serious threat in the bud.
5. No more aid to the PA
Samuel ,   Israel   (09.29.11)
As suggested the US should stop all aid,(Dollars & Training) to the PA for being challenged by Abbas.Israel too stop all water & electricity as well as transfering money.Instead of being grateful, this is what you get in return.
6. Hopefully Israel will stop all aid programs
jason white ,   afula, israel   (09.29.11)
to africa. And cut back on trade with those countries that support the palis and seek our destruction.
7. Goodluck to Palestine!
Dave ,   UK   (09.29.11)
8. Wow!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.29.11)
Irrelevant Gabon and criminal Nigeria! I am so impressed ..... If the ersatz "Palestinians" had a credible argument, do you really think they would posit them on Rosh Ha'Shana? Think, folks!
9. ILLEGAL, BUT WHO CARES?????
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.29.11)
What's weird is under International Law any country that votes for statehood is violating the Law? One of the key components to a request, is the entity in question MUST honor all past agreements, and past International agreements and Laws. Hamas which is part of the new unity government will not recognize Israel's right to exist as a state. Violating the UN's 1947 Resolution that recognized Israel? Then we have, the PLO only, is the sole legitimate representatives of the Palestinians under several International agreements? Right there alone (there are many more) proves a legal deniable reason, to deny the Palestinian bid for statehood. Any state that votes in favor, it seems is violating International Law.
10. Nigeria
emmy ,   nigeria   (09.29.11)
big lie....for we nigerians, we already know where and who we stand with. if Pals are thinking otherwiaw or claiming NIgerian vote, its an illusion and a mere political propaganda. until Pals recognizes israel as the jewish nation state and denounces voilent of all kind, a pal state is just a pipe line dream.
11. #5 Be Ready
Salma ,   Palestine   (09.29.11)
very soon there will be NO PA : )
12. Listen up 3rd world
sk ,   USA   (09.29.11)
Hello 3rd world, Middle East 101 --there are 22 Islamic Arab nations holding 16% of world oil and sitting on over 99.9% of Middle East land mass, versus 1 tiny Jewish democratic nation on the remaining land. Why in the world would you want ANOTHER Arab nation when other ethnic groups with NO NATION that should have first priority? These groups are the Kurds, Tamils, Armenians. Silly 3rd world, wake up to reality!
13. #10;emmy,Nigeria
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.29.11)
That's interesting. So why did President Goodluck Jonathan support the Pals? If it's against the will of a majority of the people in your country? I just curious, although I suspect he was simply bribed, what do you think was going on there, and what is the reaction of the people you know?
14. #11;Salma, ODDLY....
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.29.11)
Oddly you may be right, but not the way you think!! : ^ !
15. #10 Mind your own business, like 419
Wissam ,   Palestine   (09.29.11)
16. To: No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.29.11)
Keep up your nasty terrorism, and very soon there will be no ersatz "Palestinians," imirtz Ha'Shem.
17. To: Samuel at No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.29.11)
I agree with you. Let their petrodollar soaked Arab brethren pick up the slack. Oh, that will happen .... LOL! Maybe we can send them some pushkas.
18. Insignificant Only to Ostriches
American Jew ,   New Jersey, USA   (09.29.11)
Al-Maliki said that Russian, China, India, South Africa, Brazil, Lebanon, Nigeria and Gabon will support the statehood bid. Time to correct our loong-time disasterous course. btw, very revealing that those who scream about insignificant UN actions are obsessed with every detail, eh?
19. Your Petro dollars at Work
Mary Snow ,   USA   (09.29.11)
My opinion they were probably bribed with either European or Arab Petro dollars.Israel needs to get a crack investigative team together to prove and expose it. Why in the heck would small countries like Belize Gabon and others care about the PA?
20. WAOOOOOOO! NIGERIA TO SUPPORT PA's BID?
tony ,   nigeria   (09.29.11)
Do professed christians read their BIBLE at all? President Goodluck Jonathan to support the division of Jerusalem, though impossible? Is he a christian? Does he read his BIBLE? Courting the wrath of God and heaping a curse upon himself and family? Psalm 122:1-9: I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD. Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem. Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together: Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD. For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces. For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good. Mr. President sir, please think positive by obstaining.
21. to emmy and tony the fake nigeria you forget
teflon moslem ,   kufa iraq   (09.29.11)
that the majority of people in that nation are moslem any act on external affairs will take into account that fact Plus nigeria is active in the african union and promote freedom for the oppressed
22. and Obama might not veto after all
tea man ,   marjayoun   (09.29.11)
may be he will smell the petro dollar aroma and decide what the hell let get some of that I am euning for relection and the jewish vote not for sure will be on his side so he do this one for the consioucness ego
23. Sarah my sister don't mind PA, Our President is presently guarded by Mossad.
Prince ,   Niger Delta, Nigeria   (09.29.11)
Sarah my sister don't mind PA, Our President is presently guarded by Mossad. Islamist (Boko Haram) is seeking to kill him hence it is impossible for Nigeria to vote for PA. Mark my words its all lies
24. #20 professed Nigeria, do you know Nigeria history?
Wissam ,   Palestine   (09.29.11)
The year: 1988. The event: Nigeria recognized Palestine, exchanged ambassadors. Full stop. Period. It is not in GEJ's hands, nor in yours, but in history books. Nigeria cannot contradict her own foreign policy decisions. Palestinian ambassador to Nigeria was head of diplomatic corps in Nigeria for 12 years... So before you spill the bible stuff, and show us how pathetic you sound when panicking, just take a chill pill and accept it: Nigeria is on the side of the oppressed. Pay back for PLO supporting Africa against Apartheid? Maybe - but why would you even care about human rights, or black rights, all you care about is your prophpecies coming true - while using Palestinians are fire wood for those prophecies. No more - never again. Goodluck Jonathan is a REAL Christian he knows how Palestinian Christians have been abused by Israel for so long, he knows that Bethlehem is a surrounded city in Palestine, and he certainly knows better than courting neo-fascist Christians like you. Beat it and do something productive, like cleaning your roads, for God's sake...
25. Not over 'til the fat lady sings
Isaac Storm   (09.29.11)
Most of this just seems like spin by the PA in order to ralley support and intimidate the US and Israel. The last that I heard, Colombia was on Israel's side; Ehud Barak said that Nigeria was NOT going to vote yes; and Gabon is on the fence leaning towards abstaining. Please understand, I am not saying that they will not get the votes; however, some of what they are saying so far contradicts what the countries themselves have said. Israel needs to continue to obtain at least 7 nations on the UNSC who will vote no, or abstain, or absent themself. It is not over until it is over or "'tll the fat lady sings."
26. #15 - not a smart thing to say
Isaac Storm   (09.29.11)
27. 10, 13 and 23
Yosh ,   Abuja   (09.29.11)
10. & 13. It's not all lies bro. President Jonathan has been known to be very unstable and a weakling. I won't be surprised if this is true. It is more complex than him being bribed or anything. Half the country, especially the Northern part are predominantly muslim and would not mind a vote. President Jonathan would not want to rock the boat and would probably vote in favor, all in the name of putting a "human face" to it all. Definitely not in my name. I do not support the creation of a terrorist entity or it having privileges in the United Nations, but seeing the countries who are members of the United Nations, I would not hold my breath. 23. Prince, while it is true the Israelis are currently providing security for the President, I do not really see him having enough cojones to veto it. I really would wish he votes against. But as I said above, I wouldn't hold my breath.
28. Nigeria already recognized Palestine in 1988
Muayyad ,   Palestine   (09.29.11)
Withdrawing its recognition is simply out of the question, since it would contradict African Union and Nigeria policy itself. Better luck next time - Israelis. Maybe if you put 5% of the effort you put in thwarting our path to freedom and dignity towards peace, we would both be living in tranquility now. But no, it seams your fanatical government is hell bent on erasing us, and ignoring the international community. Well that comes at a price, are you sure you can afford it?
29. BID BID BID
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (09.29.11)
U.S. VETO MAKES IT A "NO SALE"
30. #11 SALMA BE READY
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (09.29.11)
Have you box of tissues handy, not only may there not be a PA, there most certainly won't ba a State of Palestine U.S. VETO and all that sort of stuff
