I want to make sure people relaize you miust know how to swim , as it is a mitzvah in the Talmud for parents to teach their children. deep water is no place to go if you cant swim.

why hasn't the foreign ministry mobilized to do something about this intolerable situation? Where is the UN? Why is Obamma silent about this?
4. Move the Rabbi Nachman's grave to Israel
Jerry ,   Jericho, NY   (10.03.11)
This will solve the problem with the ucrainiens (not the best jew lovers) and save thousands of $$$ or shekels and it will support Israel's tourizm.
5. Its sad...
Rivkah ,   Israel   (10.03.11)
I think this unfortunate accident could have been avoided... Water and bushy beards don't go hand in hand. It created a situation where water soaked into the bushy beard and created a weight that pulled him down... My Condolances to the family...

Exactly. It would be a boost to Israeli tourism, and that's why the Ukrainians will probably not support such a move, as they would rather retain the grave as a boost to theirs.

You do realize ofcourse that sunday is a day of rest in Europe, and government officials are amongst the citizens deserving of that day as well. That's just the way things are. It would have been the same in the US, France, Holland, and, for that matter, Israel, if it had been on a saturday. You can hardly expect the Ukrainians to restructure their system, just in case some breslov hassid drowns before sunday, while on pelgrimage. Why on earth should the UN or Obama get involved? There's nothing to be done for them. Don't overdo it in your indignation.

I don't think they want to give up a tourist attraction, and why in the world shoud they? I understand the site was marked with signs saying that entering the water was unsafe and not allowed.
