1. Sweden is a goner, so there's no point debating their dhimmi
tom ,   tel aviv   (10.11.11)
attitude. Just wait until the bacon shall be removed from their supermarket shelves! I would love to see a Jew/Israeli refuse their overrated Prize, but that would be too much to ask for.
2. Since when have lefty accademics thought things through ?
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (10.11.11)

3. Sounds like a simple case of jealosy
R ,   Israel   (10.11.11)
4. Finnish Foreign Minister - Israel has problem with everybody
Jouko ,   Finland   (10.11.11)
It is also amazing that the Finish Foreign Minister says that in the world there are three problems - number one Israel, number two Israel and number three Israel. Yet as you read His website 'tuomioja.org', you notice that He loves to read books by Jewish authors. Isn't that funny!
5. Such fools
BEK ,   Virginia, USA   (10.11.11)
Swedes award Nobels to Israelis/Jews and then act as if the Third Reich has come to Stockholm. With all the despots, kleptocrats, cut throats, murderers, morons, villains, anti-Semites, anti-Christians running governments in this world and sitting in judgment in the General Assembly, Israel is singled out for vilification. It's logic and reason thoroughly abandoned.
6. Swedish boycott of Israel
LION OF JUDAH   (10.11.11)
Anyone who wants to boycott Israel, they must boycott Israel in everything. They must Boycott Israeli tech.not to use mobile phone, not to use Israeli machine for medical, medicine, etc No good to boycott Israel half way.
7. pure jealousy
tiki ,   belgium   (10.11.11)
Since 1982 (30 years) no prize is coming their way. It just shows their ""interlectual level"" compared to the Israeli's.
8. A twist of academics
Beary White ,   Norway   (10.11.11)
Sweden is a lost member of the western world, their immigration politic has resulted in thisting their own leftist politicianac/ademics minds to become hostile against any non-islamic.
9. Don't buy a Volvo
Ron ,   oc, us   (10.11.11)
Not that I would unless I wanted a car that spent more time in a repair facility than on the road.
10. So who are those 'academics'?
noname   (10.11.11)
Are they by any chance Arab members of PLO or Persian folks from Ahmedhijack secret police? Since neither the name of the group nor individual members were named, one should suspect it was intentional to hide something.. Its pity ynetnews has chosen to to follow Pravda's editorial style.
11. dr. kantor
(10.11.11)
the swedes boycott BECAUSE NONE OF THEM EVER GOT A NOBEL PRIZE FOR ANY SCIENCE. ENVY AND JEALOUSY! IS THE REASON FOR THIS BOYCOTT OR ANY OTHER BY THESE "ACADEMICS".

15. #9 don't buy a what?
oferdesade ,   israel   (10.11.11)
just like british academia, swedish academia is sinking - witness the diminishing numbers of academic publications and miniscule amount of research-to-market initiatives. no.3 is probably right. when chairs can be purchased for oil money, they become ... slippery and useless.
16. Sweden boycott
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (10.11.11)
Sweden has long and historically been on the morally correct side of the struggle for economic, political and social justice. The boycott of Israel is but one salient and noble example.
17. It wont protect their patents. Hacking still rules
Josh   (10.11.11)
18. Sweden
Sy Dill ,   Providence,RI,USA   (10.11.11)
If the Swedes are sincere, they wouldn't touch anything Jewish; that goes from the Old Testament to Einstein. The Nazi governments also barred `Jewish Physics' and a lot good they got from that. Anyway, Swedish women are still some of the best looking babes in the world, so I wouldn't cut off dealings with them
19. R&D as percentage of GDP: Israel #1, Sweden #2
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.11.11)
OECD figures for 2008 show Israel devoted 4.86% of GDP toward R&D, Sweden 3.75%. Yet despite its much larger economy, Sweden earned only 846 Triadic Patents, not much higher than Israel's 494. (The only Muslim country listed is Turkey at 24.) And while Sweden has earned 0 Nobels since 1982, Israel has earned 8 - 4 in Chemistry, 2 in Economics, 2 in Peace. (Agnon and Begin won their prizes in '66 and '78 respectively.) In other news, Jews are leaving Malmo, Sweden due to the hostile environment (mostly Muslim-driven hatred).
20. LOL
Patrick ,   Dublin   (10.11.11)
An Irish farmer won the Nobel Prize, because he was out standing in his field.LoL
21. Swedish academic boycott of Israel
Spencer ,   Israel   (10.11.11)
The Scandanavian countries are almost Muslim states today.....what do you expect
22. Swedish boycott
Leo ,   Sweden   (10.12.11)
As far as I know there is no widespread boycott of Israeli academics. There are certainly individuals and possibly organisations that would propose and support such a boycott but fortunately there is no widespread boycott and I hope and beleive that it will never happen.
23.  20
john Darren ,   cairns-Australia   (10.12.11)

mr. ckantor also claimed rightly that non sweedish scientists ever got anything past the 1970's. maybe a case of jealousy on jews? i won't be surprised. hameed aboughaze, iranian
26. GRACZEK
(10.12.11)
any poles won anything? look it up...miniscule if non existent against israel and the jews. also, look at the numerous jewish sweedish names that won in sweden. envy??????
27. Graczek #16.
Steven ,   Rockville, USA   (10.12.11)
Graczek, finally your time arrived. Instead of Israeli scientists you have an enhanced chance to go to Sweden. Please start to learn to read and write, else the Sweden will invite an Arab camel driver. Yours and the camel driver’s mental level and know-how will fit exactly the levels of the Swedish.
28. To all YNet Sweden bashers
David ,   On this planet   (10.12.11)
Check the source of the boycott. Israeli Leftist Academicians comes to mind. Clean up your own backyard first
29. SAB's
Daniel ,   Netherlands   (10.12.11)
Stands for Sick Antisemitc Bastards. How do you recognize them: 1- Do they single out anybody else? 2- Do they boycott anybody else? 3- Do they disguise their antisemitism by "legitimate critic of Israel"? 4- Do they speak in slogans like "international law', "occupation',"UN resolutions" in their sick way of thinking? This "critic "approach is only against Israel, they couldn't care less about international law applied to Tibet, Ceuta, Melilla, Falkand islands, Northern Cyprus or others. No pamflets, no flotilla, just silent approval... A true SAB couldn't care less about atrocities or mass murder. Good examples: Cuba and Venezuela sent foreighn ministers to Syria to show solidarity against antiimperialist brother, while cutting off diplomatic relationship with Israel for their "genocide" against palestinians. I bet Swedish never boyco t Castro..
30. I browsed the Swedish media outlets
Nick ,   Sweden   (10.12.11)
but cannot find any reference to a boycott. Maybe it is somewhere - but hardly a major issue. Which means a lot in the profusely Israel-hostile media in Sweden. Poor journalism by Ynet - not giving any source for the alleged boycott. Hoax altogether?
