If I were in the area I would attend his concert. Much respect to him.
3. Omar Faruk Tekbilek
R ,   Israel   (10.11.11)
Before I opened this article I was thinking "Why read any more news? It's just depressing. Better to lose myself in another episode of Weeds or The Sopranos. You said it so well: "My job is to connect them to their souls so that they can handle daily life better." Mr. Tekbilek, thank you and all the best to you!
4. We need more people who think for themselves

And great attitude but its mostly idealogical between israel and turkey which effectively becomes political obviousley. Im glad he has courage and is able to take the heat but expect many death threats and curses your way. Because they start friendley and then become extremely vile and life threstening, its the way they operate. I wish other artists would come out and share their experience they went through when they too decided to perform in israel but then cancelled due to death threats. Im shocked that people allow it and then never speak the truth about it like katy perry. She should go on every western media news outlet and share her experience of being threatened by anti israel supporters and hopefully others coming out with same experience. Until the world becomes honest and faces the truth it will spread like cancer if constsntly tolerated and appeassed. Jake

As somebody hwo grew in Turkey OMER (and not Omar) TEKBILEK warm up my heart. Thank you Mr. Tekbilek
7. The instrument he's shown playing in the picture is called..
Persian CAT   (10.11.11)
"sornā". It is an ancient Iraninan/Persian musical instrument. See, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sorna I ONLY support boycotting ANYTHING that has to do with the illegal settlements. I am not in favor of blanket boycott of Israel.
8. RESPECT
Billie Ben Asher ,   Eilat   (10.12.11)
A True Artist..Hope one day i will see him play.
9. "Our people have not become enemies"
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (10.12.11)
Important to remember these wise words. The stupid Turkish government is acting for its own domestic purposes and to appeal to certain narrow constituencies in its country.

Do you think that anyone except your terrorists buddies care why you spew your vile opinions? News Flash! They Don't! As for Omar, He seems to be a fine man. I find only one fault with him and that is that he fails to recognize that the Palestinians (So called) Already have a State. It's called Jordan.
11. Wise
Suma ,   USA   (10.30.11)
Omar Tekbilek clearly has much wisdom & understanding about the world. He understands that we are all brothers and sisters of the world and that music transcends politics. He doesn't cave in to the pressure of popular fads like "boycott Israel". He sees that the best way to promote peace is to love one another.
12. Bravo!
