Iranian Constitutional Executive Authority, art.154: "The Islamic Republic of Iran regards the happiness of Man in the Human Society as its aspiration and recognizes independence, freedom and the rule of right and justice as the right of all the people of the world." So the story we're supposed to believe is that one of Ahmadinejad's appointed ministers got a hold of this letter and jumped the gun? They snubbed their nose at the Iranian constitution and proceeded to dole-out a punishment the President himself would never have approved? Art.136: "The President can dismiss the Ministers." - sure it requires a vote of confidence from the Majlis, but isn't the process worth it? This minister or representative of the government is guilty of ignoring the tenets of governance that Ahmadinejad is sworn, in the name of God, to uphold! Now, I'm not familiar enough with Iranian law to say that this person should be imprisoned or flogged - or stoned! - but would it not stand to reason that they at least be fired? For as Supreme Leader, Sayyid Ali Khamenei, posts in his website's 'Leadership from the Perspective of Imam Khomeini': "A leader should be perfect in religious beliefs and morals, just and spiritually not polluted with sins. The individual who wants to take the responsibility for applying the Islamic penal code properly, to control the Muslims' assets and country's expenditures and wants Allah, the Exalted, to delegate him the administration of His servants’ affairs should not be a sinner because Allah, the Almighty, does not allow a tyrant to have such a power. Unless the ruler is just, he will not administer justice in providing Muslims with their rights... Such a ruler may also make his friends, supporters and relatives take control of people and spend Muslims’ assets in fulfilling his own personal whims and desires." Oops! I think I just stepped in something rank, and I'm not certain who left it there... If President Ahmadinejad publicly disapproves of this blatant abuse of judicial powers, why doesn't he disapprove of it formally and lay charges on, or at least dismiss said transgressor? Does he not have the authority? Must he first seek the approval of the religious authority as Imam Khomeini states: "If kings really follow Islam, they should follow the Islamic jurists and ask their opinion. In this way the jurists themselves will be the real rulers and, therefore, the power should officially be given to them and not to those who are compelled to follow jurists..."? If no action has been taken against the perpetrators of this injustice, does that mean the Guardian Council sees no injustice as having been committed? Does the Imam care so little about the constitution that he himself is primarily responsible for? If everyone in the Iranian government disapproves of the repeat human rights violations occurring within their country, then why aren't they putting an end to it? Is anyone REALLY in-charge of what goes on in Iran? Personally, my answer to that question stems back to comparisons I've heard made of Ahmadinejad and Adolf Hitler. They're both abhorred examples of humanity, but Hitler - at least - was charismatic enough to convince people of his lies.
