31. The released terrorist will kill, count on it.
Josh   (10.12.11)
32. As if Hamas isn't trying every second of every day...
Benji ,   Israel   (10.12.11)
To kidnap more, to terrorise more... Let's not kid ourselves that we have all the great minds of Hamas and others safet locked away. The terror will continue IRRESPECTIVE of Gilad Shalit. Landau, Ronsky and others are a disgrace to the oneness of Israel. Thank god Shalit may be home soon. But the war clearly continues - as it has very day of 1,934 since his capture, whilst the 1,027 terrorist have been 'safely' locked away!
33. Palestinians
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (10.12.11)
One Palestinian is worth one thousand Israelis. In other words, they are quantity rather than quality.
34. What is the price for a female soldier ?.
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (10.12.11)
35. Ronsky thinks this deal is collective punishment for Israeli
Leon ,   US   (10.12.11)
36. #8 kidnap them and their families; r u sure ur name is Judah
observer ,   Egypt   (10.12.11)
I'm sure you are. Israel's idea of 1:1000 is not for the inferior rank of Palestinians but about the sky-rocketing of Israeli arrogance.
37. Faith
EM ,   Ra'anana   (10.12.11)
Would the 'esteemed' rabbi, suggest that future (G-d forbid) POW's automatically be declared dead? At what point in time during their captivity should that declaration be made? One week? One year? Gilad is not the first POW and may not be the last. I believe that even in the depth of despair, Gilad had faith that his family and his country would do all it could to ransom him. Ronsky should be ashamed of himself. His opinion is the antithesis to the Jewish faith.
38. Happy for Schalit family but.....................
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (10.12.11)
freeing these animals is bad. Israel should have vaccinated them with cancer cells or HIV. That would be true justice for the victims of arab muslim ,racism and terrorism. May they are die a painful death.
39. ronsky is right
moron ,   galut   (10.12.11)
israel showing weakness-morally equating soldjier with terrorists--endangering more lives and incentivizing morehostage taking
40. 8 Judah, Israel: I disagree because HaShem was molding
Rivkah   (10.12.11)
Gilad Shalit just as He molded Josef and Daniel in Scriptures long ago. Both became leaders, second in command of nations. So that is worth the trade off. The Palestinians will not change and the thousand murderous ones released does not change the fact that there are millions just like them who are living and working and walking around outside of prisons, just as hate filled and vendetta determined.
41. Rabbi Ronsky is RIGHT !
(10.12.11)
42. Joy
Bev ,   Sydney, Australia   (10.12.11)
The Palestinian families get back their terrorist murderers who will go on to kill again....very joyful! Those Palestinian loved ones will continue to be filled with hate and will learn that if you kidnap an Israeli soldier, you may get away with murder!
43. Kvod haRav, that's terrible what you say.
Hana ,   TA   (10.12.11)
44. I think you're right, Brian #15, in exactly
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (10.12.11)
every phrase and comment except that I think Rabbi Ronsky would agree in every aspect and he is certainly no"wimp". Perhaps you made an unfortunate error.
45. # 14
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.12.11)
It has been said that as Shalit is released 450 Palestinian prisoners will be released. As soon as Shalit lands in Israel (from Egypt) another 500 prisoners will be released. Israel is not going to release all 1027 prisoners in one go. That would be lunacy.
46. Selfish bastard - if it was his son he'd play another tune!
Eli   (10.13.11)
47. No Raymond #44 - Ronsky is indeed a coward
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (10.14.11)
Ronsky was ready to lie and declare Shalit "dead" while knowing full well that Shalit was alive and well. That makes Ronsky a coward for abandoning a soldier. Israel was not brought "to its knees". Not even close. Ronksy - and I guess you too - don't have the gonads to go out and do what is necessary to both get Shalit home, AND prevent future attacks/kidnappings/swaps. My problem is that the government of Israel is not going to use an iron fist against Palestinian terrorism. The government is not treating terrorist attacks as causus belli - and they most certainly are. Ronsky shows poor leadership and poor judgement by telling current and future soldiers he's reading to abandon them to be killed in captivity.
48. Rabbi Ronsky is right and #8 (Judah)shows
pinchas ,   boston   (10.14.11)
clear thinking and logic. A. Israel should definitely have incacerated top Hamas dogs in solitary until GIlad in a trade would be freed. B.If that did not work, an Entebbe military operation should have been launched-- after "extracting" info as to where Gilad was from the Hamasniks using Guantanamo (waterboard) methods. C.If the military operation failed and Gilad was killed, then the incacerated Hamas leaders would be taken out and shot or hanged, AND buried in pig fat. End of story......
49. ronsky
michael ,   tlv   (10.14.11)
Big mouth Ronsky, Eli 46, you're absolutely right.
50. You are missing the boat
Joel ,   Washington   (10.14.11)
Tag these guys with tracking devices implanted in their bodies. We'll know exactly where they are. They can always cut off their arms to remove the tracking device
51. to #47 Look up Rabbi Ronsky's military
jason white ,   afula, israel   (10.14.11)
career in the late 60s and through the Yom Kippur war. He has more guts than you and another hundred like you. When there will be dead and wounded Jews all over Israel killed by these released terrorists, I doubt Gilad will want to show himself in public. People will curse his family and this government while standing over the fresh graves of their dead family members. People will be wounded and maimed for life after this deal. But it is okay for you. We got Gilad home and too bad we lost a big battle against terrorism. We should have executed one thousand prisoners per hour till Gilad was freed. After all the prisoners were killed and no Gilad, then we should have destroyed gaza and retaken it.
52. Israel should immeadiately discuss what it will do
Zevi ,   Israel   (10.14.11)
when the next person is kidnapped and not wait till it happens. They should also declare the death penalty for any released terrorist that kills again.
53. There was no price set.
Gabe ,   Canada   (10.14.11)
"Cast Lead" was an opportunity to get Shalit back. Hamas should have been bombarded until Shalit is freed. Not rocket science, really.
54. Trading 1000 terrorists for 1 soldier huh???
Ryan ,   Los Angeles, USA   (10.15.11)
Oh good. What else are you doing that is terrible and stupid? If the US would have caught BinLaden and imprisoned him, and let him go, he would have laid down him arms and went home to live in peace and quiet...right? May as well get the remaining prisoners ready to go home. 1 scrub soldier for 1000 murderers. Maybe next time they grab someone WAAAY more important, maybe two people. On the bright side of the situation, the money Israel is saving on prisoners will help with bomb damage reconstruction, funerals & memorials, etc. This whole incident is EXACTLY why you should NEVER negotiate with terrorists. Just kick their ***. Hope this one soldier was worth all of the future victims of these specific 1000 released. Good job Israel.
55. I'm embarrassed for Israel
Kiure ,   Chicago, IL USA   (10.18.11)
While I feel for the Israeli soldier & his family, I am amazed that Israel would even consider such an uneven trade. You are freeing the people who terrorized and killed your people! OMG!!!
