stop worrying about the UN chief or the US President or the EU wonk. You need only be concerned with how the One who is over all of these leaders and ever other one (including Bibi) feels about you, and whether or nor you are following His revealed will in the Scriptures. Does He say rebuild the waste places? Then build, baby, BUILD!

The UN is never happy unless its blaming Israel for all the worlds problems. Assad has killed 3000+ and we don't hear that much from the UN other than lame resolutions which really don't bother Assad. Its like when Gaddafi was dropping bombs on his people all the UN did was remove Libya from the UN Human Rights Council. If Israel builds a few houses in Jerusalem though its like the UN is trying to avert WW3. I could understand if Jerusalem was actually the capital of some country other than Israel but its not, we just have arabs demanding it like spoilt children fighting over a toy. If we gave them Jerusalem next thing you know the UN would be condemning us for building in Tel Aviv because the arabs are trying to lay a claim to there as well. Unless Israel is in trouble for something the UN will never be happy so how about we build to provide homes for Israeli's and the UN can condemn us over it and then we will all be happy. Oh Assad don't worry the UN won't come after you they are to busy worrying about building in Jerusalem so business as usual.

Stating "new Israeli settlements in occupied east Jerusalem" certainly doesn't help promote resolution of a conflict. I remain entirely baffled at what possible "international law" gave sovereignty of East Jerusalem to the Arabs during Jordan's conquest and 19 year military occupation from 1948-67. Israel has liberated Jerusalem and it remains free and undivided for the past 44 years.
