Israel is in inspiration to me.. stay united and one day you will live in peace once and for all
2. In good condition? What good condition?
Nora Tel Aviv   (10.18.11)
He is a walking squeleton. Pale and trembling. Unsure how he will get down the stairs. Feeling sick during the helicopter flight. WIILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL US THE TRUTH ?
3. #2 - he's in pretty good health and not overweight
michael redbourn ,   Arad Israel   (10.18.11)
Imagine suddenly being put out in the sun and getting interviewed on TV after being indoors and not talking to anybody for five years. He's in shock which is understandable. Thin is OK and he was thin 5 years ago. Overweight is not OK and much more dangerous.
4. In poor health, but good condition
Yakov ,   Tel Aviv   (10.18.11)
Nora, you must be a Mother. You are correct, he is malnourished, and appears to have been abused. His breathing rate is high, he is a pale-grey, all of this is consistent with severe malnutrition and anemia. I know this, having taught as a medical school professor for 20 years. But, he is in good condition. His physical state will improve, and with our love and support, his mental state will also improve. He will, sadly, never be the same. He has our collective love and support.
5. #2 Don't worry
Line Singer ,   Ã…rhus, Denmark   (10.18.11)
I don't think they'd tell us his condition was good if it was really, really bad. Consider, he's been kept in isolation for 5 years and suddenly all these people are surrounding him. The noise on board a helicopter is great. I think he's just overwhelmed by everything, at least I hope so. At the same time, he does look like a walking skeleton, clearly malnourished. I imagine they have a diet planned for him. He's stomach is probably weak, but I'm sure he's in the best hands. And they wouldn't send him home to Mitzpe Hila if he wasn't ok, would they? :)
6. In captivity of mad dogs

7. welcome back Gilad !!
rachel ,   usa   (10.18.11)
8. #3 please , he looks like he just came out of a concentratio
rachel ,   usa   (10.18.11)
concentration camp .....What did these arab criminals do to him?
9. Mitzpe Hila was established on Arab land!
Nour ,   One-State   (10.18.11)
The devil is in the details :)
10. Shalit Felt Ill...
Nili   (10.18.11)
Look at his picture~then look at the picture of the fat, healthy "PA" terrorist thugs that we released. That says it all...
11. He was starved. Palestinians should not have a state.
Josh   (10.18.11)
If they would starve prisoners like this, and they want a "Jew free" sharia law state -just say no. Clearly human rights violations, and clearly heartless. They complain about oppression but they have not learned anything about how its wrong and how not to be barbarians. Galit looks very poor. I would say go to a local restaurant and treat him, but its likely too expensive for any soldier to dine at. At least the shadow ops Israeli oppression of the native is slightly less cruel. Let my people go.
12. In good health?
Marco ,   milano.Italy   (10.18.11)
No need to be a doctor to understand that Gilad will take months to recover. Pale and so thin that my Italian mother will immediately start cooking and keep cooking for the next year for him. We are happy he is free and this proves once again what kind of animals these islamists are. Go Israel we are with you.
13. Skeleton
Bob ,   New York, USA   (10.18.11)
He looks like a concentration camp survivor. NEVER AGAIN. Hamas must be crushed.
14. #8 rachel usa ir spot on,
james hazan ,   U.K.   (10.18.11)
15. Just compare Schalit to the fat pigs we released.
Ben-Africa   (10.18.11)
Fat pigs with college degrees, family visit and whole chickens. Enough! I don't want peace with those animals and their european supporters and cheerleaders.
16. I pray things just improve for this young man!
Isabella ,   Tampa USA   (10.18.11)
17. #2 Nora
David ,   Son of Israel   (10.18.11)
Nora, You are correct. He is obviously in very poor health. He has been a prisoner of hasatan for 5 years. HOWEVER, You are looking at the strongest Israeli warrior in all Isra'el. I pray he will now dedicate what remains of his life to service in the IDF in the capacity of an officer and leads brave warriors to defeat hamas and all amalek, all esav to a stunning defeat for the Glory of HaSem! But, if not, he has more than done his part already.
18. strike, Israel, strike
Elizabeth   (10.18.11)
Put an end to the misery of Gaza. I want to see photos of both Mashaal and Haniyeh lying in a gutter stiff, somewhere, but not on Israeli G-d-given land. Put an end to those bastards once and for all.
19. Hamas refused to give Gilad glasses
simone   (10.18.11)
Gilad was released not wearing his specs. This is probably why he had a bit of trouble going down a staircase. Apparently, even though Gilad's parents requested via the Red Cross to Hamas to please provide Gilad with glasses so that he could see properly, Hamas refused.
20. Nour - no time for you today. We are celebrating our hero
jonathan ,   london/israel   (10.18.11)
22. Congratulations
Joe ,   North Lebanon   (10.19.11)
Congratulations on getting your son back. Fast recovery and health. Christian Lebanon.
