If she were a journalist she would have asked him to detail his treatment and detention. But her actions now raise the possibility that she is complicit in his kidnapping by conducting this sham 'exit' interview at his weakest moment, just before release. She should be prosecuted.

I could see that Gilad was unwell. He was pale, had difficulty breathing at times, and she was sitting right there and could see it, too. He has been in solitary confinement for nearly five years, uncertain whether he would live or die any moment, so how could he be fine? Or expected to speak of his ordeal? I am disappointed in this woman, Ms. Amin, who showed HERSELF to be unkind, unfeeling, and irresponsible. Not all Egyptians are like her; most are the best sort of people.

Abusive & propagandistic interview at the most vulnerable moment before he was medically examined & did not even know if he would arrive actually in safe hands, should be censored & the journalistic credentials be annulled by World Federation of Journalists for flawed ethics. In addition, the French translation in Le Monde of his words is often misleading & false, & should draw objections as well from Gilad or his advocate. Being a good broker requires dedication to the larger task, not exploiting another's vulnerable situation for media "limelight."

The poor guy needs food, sun, relaxation, sleep, and to be back home with loved ones, not a cruel hypocritical Egyptian woman. Last year when I was in Eilat, a few days before arriving, some radicals in Egypt shot a few missles at Eilat (they missed). There were also threats of kidnappings, so I went to Jordan instead. This interview will further hurt Egypt and rightfully so.

I noticed a few things which were totally inappropriate and insenstive to Gilad during that time. Not only was the interview insenstive and in my opinion calculating and harsh when a person comes out of captivity. These are truly coming from Evil and uncaring people in my opinion....any caring and humanistic person wouldnt do such a thing. And just to add...please once again take a look at how Gilad was being handled when he was "escorted" out of the car" coming into Egypt.....he was being handled like he was a prisoner., watch how he was being held by the arms by these people....Shame on all of you Arabs....for not knowing how to care for human beings in a respectful way after they have gone through so much.

I watched the interview on the BBC, I heard the English version as well as the tattered Hebrew translation, I have come out very proud of Gilad demenure and sophistacated way he managed to transmit his inner wishes and the Jewishness , and coolness under the onslaught of the chaos , media and other public, surrending him. The best thing Israel media to do is not considering Gilad Shalit as their Baby who needs their 'parental protection'. This Egyptian "journalist" asked Shalit to comment on the Palestinians "languishing in Israeli prisons". Those prisoners are enjoying adequate nutrition, access to their Koran and free college education at Israeli taxpayer expense. This Egyptian propagandist should be made to spend some time in Shalit's circumstances. I'd bet my life savings that he had NO religious freedom, access to adequate nutrition or educational enrichment (WTF?).

you can't change Arab culture. Ask this lady why people in 50 Arab and Moslem countries including her are so quite when Arab peole in Syria are being murdered and tortured in most brutal way? Why dont' Arab defend their own people at least in demonstrations? Aren't Arabs in Egypt free enough to at least state small demonstrations against this brutality? What about Arabs in Europe and U.S? She will not know an answer to this question but she knows that she is not supoosed to ask her countrymen to even demonstrate agaisnt Syria and ask Bashar Asad to stop killing people.
