1. Fayyad the Fraud
Stan ,   Sydney, Australia   (10.20.11)
Fayyad and his cohorts should join the Jordanian - sorry, Palestinian - diving team. Thjey will duck and dive forever in order not to sit at the table. What fraudsters!
2. The Quartet can sing or PISS OFF !!!
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (10.20.11)
3. How much are the members of the Quartet
Devorah   (10.20.11)
getting paid to obviously, blatently and glaringly prostitute themselves on behalf of "palestine?"
4. So again the Palestinians refuse to negotiate
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (10.20.11)
So again the Palestinians refuse to negotiate while Bibi and the world are waiting. And somehow it is Israel's fault.
5. US Federal Reserve BANK
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (10.20.11)
Fayyad used to work for the US Government. He was recommended for his current job by George W. Fayyad is neither Fatah, nor Hamas. Hamas wants him gone from office as he is too pro-Israeli for them. Abbas, however is the PA President and head of the PLO. If Abbas wants to go to talks, then he will. What Fayyad did is provide an independent mostly objective analysis. If the Israeli Cabinet allows Netanyahu to go to negotiations, Abbas will make the Palestinian decision, not Fayyad. If Netanyahu and the Israeli Cabinet prefers dealing with Hamas, that would be their choice.
6. Well, of course
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.20.11)
Why would the time be ripe for negotiations, now that they've gotten one-half of their vicious terrorist buddies out of prison? Especially after having got slammed at the United Nations. (Surprise, surprise.) This is what Israel has to deal with, folks. The entire so-called "leadership" of the ersatz "Palestinian" Authority are terrorists. They are not interested in "negotiations." They are interested in supplanting Israel. Period. Full stop. Israel is not going to be supplanted. The ersatz Arab squatters in Judea and Samaria shall have to get used to annexation and repatriation. What Israel IS interested in is putting an end to ersatz "Palestinian" violence and terror, and that's coming. The hard way. The only way the ersatz "Palestinians" appear to understand. Or respect. Since all else has failed, that's where the next steps are going. One cannot co-exist with terrorist scum bent on your destruction, and I think the ersatz "Palestinians" have played their last card. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
7. Lies and Maneuvering
Andalieb Williamson ,   Toronto, Canada   (10.20.11)
While I truly believe that Israel would be willing to agree to a two-state solution, if it meant peace with defensible borders, I feel in my heart, based on all the "true" Islamic hatred I have seen, that the PA will never accept anything offered. As a "Western" observer to the conflict, I see leftists defending the rights of intolerance, defending the right to the subjugation of women, defending regimes that have, so far, been winning the propaganda war. But, no longer. I do not trust, I do not believe, any false offer of peace, however, it has not been made, because it does not exist. The Islamic militants have no desire for peace. It's unfortunate that the leftists of the world have fallen for their lies. Perhaps they should review history, and the agreement with Sudetenland, which was widely believed to result in peace with Hitler. What a fallacy that was. Let's not be so naive this time around.
8. Tony Blair
Moragh   (10.20.11)
doing his damndest to hang on to his salary to keep his greedy wife in her luxury home. Sorry Toni but you are a washout and a waste of good GB money. You're exactly like Cameron. Then again, you couple up with the obama boy in America verv nicely. What has happened to the world's population? Isn't there a country left who can help put GB back on her feet. Like USA, she's going right down the tube and it won't be long now!
9. TO YOU, MR. PRIME MINISTER ...
FO ,   Belgium   (10.20.11)
Don't you think, Mr. P.M. that it is 5 minutes before midnight, and that it is your ultimate duty to tell your own people as well as world opinion, the historical truth, hidden till today? Hidden, just to prevent the fact that Marxist Zionism (!?) opposed to the creation of a Jewish State, what made the Shoah possible to such an extend , should be revealed ??? Isn't it high time, Mr. P.M. to tell clear and loud, that thanks to the involvment of US President Woodrow Wilson, the San Remo Conference and the unanimous vote on 24th of July 1922 by all the 51 members of the LEAGUE of NATIONS, and joined later by the USA as 52th nation, gave the Jewish nation IRREVOCABLE RIGHTS in INTERNATIONAL LAW, valid to this day and REAFIRMED by the UNITED NATIONS trough ARTICLE 80 of its CHARTER ? Just to remind all of you the contends of the League's vote, known as the "MANDATE FO PALESTINE": this Mandate gave the Jews an embryo of a state and the IRREVOCABLE RIGHT to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. Even Prof. Eugene Rostow, Dean of the School of Law of Yale, and author of UN RESOLUTION 242, the cornerstone of till today's diplomacy in the Middle-East, took into consideration the League's decisions, and wrote about "withdrawal FROM territories" and not from THE territories. He explained his 242 Resolution in various articles. "The Future of Palestine" is a must to be read. (You can find it on Internet ! ) So Mr. Prime Minister Netanyahu, it is NOW, LATER WILL BE TOO LATE !!! TRUTH MUST PREVAIL !!!
10. Fayyad's assessment is correct
seadog1946 ,   ErieBasin, NYC   (10.20.11)
in that both sides, at this point in time, are unable to sustain productive negotiations... I think the Quartet understands this impasse and that is why they have proposed/specified a timeline with distinct milestones. I believe the Quartet intends to mediate/impose a solution to this never ending Levantine tribal conflict.
11. GOOD! SHUT YOUR LYING MOUTH WHILE ISRAEL
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (10.20.11)
ANNEXES AND BUILDS BABY, BUILDS TO THE MAXIMUM. Now no more US $$$ Saudis are beginning to pay for their keep, they should, they own them as proxy army of terrorists.
12. OVER RIPE, ROTTEN, AND DECAYING, drawing flies and disease
Bad assed Jew. ,   United States   (10.20.11)
PALS AND THEIR TWO HEADED SNAKED 'GOVERNMENTS' OF BILKING THE RICHER ANTI SEMITIC NATIONS INTO PAYING BLACKMAIL OR, TYPICALLY, THE PALS THREATEN TO 'KILL YOU. '
13. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.20.11)
That is the most ridiculous spin I have ever read. But it doesn't really matter, does it? After having failed so miserably at the United Nations, the ersatz "Palestinians" are pretty much toast. Everyone hates you, and now you know. Sayonara, asshole.
14. #2 Chris, I'll bet they ARE pissed off...lol
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (10.20.11)
15. Palis not ready for peace.....a joke.
Spencer ,   Israel   (10.20.11)
Of course they aren't ready. You can't be ready for something you don't want. All these terrorists want is the destruction of Israel and the stupid Quartet are eith blind and can't see the truth OR, they don't want to see the truth. I think it's the latter.
16. To: Chris and Noodles
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.20.11)
Of course the ersatz "Palestinians" can piss off and are pissed off. They just got a grim wake-up call at the United Nations. They couldn't even muster enough votes in the General Assembly, let alone avoid a massive humiliation in the Security Council. It would appear that they have far fewer "friends" than they thought. That said, by even approaching the U.N., the ersatz "Palestinians" unilaterally abrogated the Oslo Accords. Which means that Israel is no longer bound by them, either. What Fayyad's statement amounts to is nothing more than a pathetic attempt to salvage some sense of ersatz "Palestinian" control over their destiny. THEY don't think the time is ripe for "peace talks." Snicker. It isn't their call. Good morning! The very concept of a bunch of unrepentant violent terrorists trying to salvage some semblance of dignity is laughable. They have shot their wad. They are gone. History. Good riddance.
17. Can't Blair send his sister-in-law to beg them
Harry Wright ,   UK   (10.20.11)
to come to the table? The Pals love her as much as she loves them. I'm sure they will listen to her and do her bidding. They are all one big happy family.
18. Cards on the table and new elections
Avramele   (10.20.11)
Both sides must commit to submitting maps of proposed borders as a basis for negotiation. Once this is done the issue returns to one of practicality and political will not ideology. New Knesset elections might also break the deadlock. A resurgent Labor, a declining Kadima, the erosion of Likud support on the right; Deri running as a centrist and increased turnout in the Arab sector can lead to a grand coalition of labor, kadima, Deri, and a smaller centrist Likud. Elections are hard to predict but a swing to the center left of 5-6 seats can alter the dynamics. The swing votes are the modern orthodox and traditionalist though not orthodox Sephardim. The alternative is the barbarism of Lieberman and the extreme settler right.
19. Tony Blah and the Hydra.
Gabe ,   Canada   (10.20.11)
Both sides, eh ? You meant Fatah and Hamas of course.
20. PAL LEADERSHIP IS A HYDRA
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (10.20.11)
Abbas, Erekat, Fayyad all speaking without unifying their efforts, giving diverging opinion’s quite different from the leadership in Gaza Since we don't know who to believe, they ALL must be disbelieved
21. #10 rabid seamongrel
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (10.20.11)
It's been tried before, where were you when George W. Bush proposed his "Roadmap", which turned out to be a total flop? "In spring 2002 — a year before the American invasion of Iraq — the Middle East was ablaze in violence, the Palestinian Territories especially. President Bush until then had taken a hands-off approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. But he faced mounting pressure from Arabs, Europeans and Israelis to act. On April 5 and June 24, 2002, he delivered a pair of speeches that became known as the Bush Road Map for peace" You're nuttier than I think you are, if you think that the "Quartet" is about to commit any armed forces to implement their plans The USA won't participate, without it, there is no possibliity of other nations commiting their forces to such an effort
22. #5 MARK BJ -- RETURN TO REALITY
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (10.20.11)
It really doesn't matter what Abbas decides, Hamas won't go along with it, rendering his decision null & void, since it doesn't include Gaza Hamas has repeatedly & recently reiterated their stance; they will NOT negotiate with Israel, since that would be contrary to the Charter, which specifically calls for the destruction of Israel They have just recently included the Jews outside of Israel as new targets of opportunity Even, if by some remote chance an agreement was to be reached, the in- fighting among the various Palestinian factions would be the order of the day Surely, you remember Hamas flinging Fatah members off of rooftops or lining them up and shooting them in the streets ?
23. Two state solution now, Israel and Jordan.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (10.20.11)
24. Perhaps strengthening of hamas in west bank will help kill
bernard ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (10.20.11)
faux "peace process". this is probably the payback to abbas for going to UN. It is best that hamas and fatah keep fighting and killing each other
25. #16 Sarah, thanks so much for your latest abridgement.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (10.20.11)
I think Chris will appreciate the fact that they have shot their wad. He just may also over your usage of that expression...LMFAO.
26. Easy to moan..why dont we translate to action?
Tim ,   Brighton   (10.20.11)
Weve had protests in the UK recently about everything under the sun - from Travellers To Anti Capitalists... Lets have one that REALLY means something A JOINT APOLITICAL Pro Israel and Pro Palestine rally to demand the resumption of negotiations to secure peace and NOTHING ELSE
27. Detailed boarder proposals
Daran, UK   (10.20.11)
Bibi had better come with a detailed plan of the proposed Israeli boarders to meetings. 67 boarders plus 4% with one to one like for like swaps is likely to be the 'limit' acceptable to Pali's it would seem, failing to be able convince Quartet that Israel does have plan which addresses the major issues will no doubt be reflected in the Nov. UNSC vote. So Bibi has a problem, admitting to Likud and others that Ariel for instance is not in the 'gift' of the Israeli gov but rather the Pali's, despite the fact he knows (and others) that Israel has many painful choices ahead and it's not going to get all it wants.
28. solve the problem
eby   (10.20.11)
Send Abas to Gaza and problem is solved
29. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.20.11)
Israel doesn't have to do anything except issue a quid pro quo. The ersatz "Palestinians" approached the United Nations. Of course, they did not fare terribly well there, but Israel made it very clear that ANY unilateral attempt by the ersatz "Palestinians" to sneak in the back door would constitute repudiation of the Oslo accords. Once again, the ersatz "Palestinians" have made the worst possible choice. They've been doing precisely that for seven decades. Nothing new under the sun, except that Israel's patience has come to an end.
30. all bull shit. they never had any intention of peace talks.
ralph   (10.20.11)
fooled only anti-israel and leftist types.
