politely decline the offer.

thisisa humanitarian case and we'll be more than honored to help our neghibors! although they have agressive leader we like the turkish people and wish things were much easyer for everybody...
4. To Anton
Israely from Turkey   (10.23.11)
At least in such moments you could put aside politics and care for your people that the Israelis could save. You should know that they are specialised in SAVING lives as they already did in your past major eartquakes.
5. Incredible
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (10.23.11)
One hospital for 360,000 people. Instead their government buys weapons and ignores the needs of it's own people
6. @ Anton
bruce ,   New York, USA   (10.23.11)
Anton writes that Turkey should "politely decline" Israel's offer of emergency assistance to the victims of the earthquake, and he confirms the hatred we all know about. But would Anton allow his hatred to be trumped were it his family trapped beneath the rubble in an area of Turkey that Anton and his life-minded thinkers in Istanbul have obviously paid little attention to.
7. Shouldn't Turkey be expected to *ask* for help?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (10.23.11)
Israel is always ready to help, even an enemy state like Pakistan or Iran. (Neither would accept Israel's help.) But to say Israel will send help "if Turkey agrees to accept it" allows Turkey to say "do as you will" while allowing them to insist "We didn't ask for Israel's help."
8. Anton, where is your humanity?
David Israel ,   New York USA   (10.23.11)
1. Please try to tell those words to the families who have missing relatives under the rubble and waiting fir rescue. You sitting in your warm home inIstanbul enjoying the View at Bebek or Tarabya it is easy to decline the much needed help. 2. Or is it because Van and the area the quacke happened is predominantly Kurdish that you don't care about their lives? Anton, these are the times when people show their humanity and I am sad point out that you have shown the ugly face of it.
9. #1, that's a harsh thing to say when lives are in danger
R   (10.23.11)
You should ignore politics for a while for the benefit of human souls. A helping hand can also ease the tension. A speedy recovery to all.
10. Wathever tthe Turks decide. They shoyuld apologize first

They'll accept it, don't worry. The aid should be on condition that Turkey apologizes for sending a terror ship to try to break Israel's lawful blockade. But who am I to make demands?

Boys give Anton a break I dont think he can spell the word ACCEPT what a pity....
13. @11--No!
Bruce ,   New York, NY   (10.23.11)
The aid must and shall be unconditional. That is our mandate.

Atheist Turk ,   Germany   (10.23.11)
Anton ! If it is really you, than I am more than disappointed. If Turkey and especially the victims need help, than any reached hand should be accepted. Israel helped us during the Gölcük earthquake, we helped them during the Galilee fire. I am happy that innocent people were helped. Thank you Israel and its people for your offer. Toda raba Israel. David, the situation of Turkey is sad. If people really think the eartquake is unimportant because only Kurds (who knows it?) died, than humanity has come to an end.
16. The "ENTITY", so reviled by the...
Gideon Reader ,   USA   (10.23.11)
...Turkish turkeys offering to aid or assist in the aftermath of the latest earthquake is not only tragic and laughable at the same time; but there is a serious and pressing NEED to clearly understand that helping your sworn enemies is a really, REALLY dumb idea. Feloniously dumb. A get yourself killed at a somewhat later point in time dumb idea. Turkey who has been so supportive of Israel's sworn enemys and so overtly hostile towards Israel, can tune in Frequency Modulated radio for any help they need or require. That's FM. Allow me to clarify EFF EMM!

First of all, I must stress that I am deeply saddened by this tragedy and loss of life and possessions and my heart is with all the families that have suffered loss, just as all the people of Israel are. Mr. ERDOGAN is too proud to accept the aid offered, unconditionally, as a human gesture. He has refused the hand offered, which will cause more deaths, when every moment counts. All the leaders of Israel have offered their help, and it is time that Mr. ERDOGAN behaves as a true leader, who cares first and foremost about his trapped citizens, and try to save as many lives as possible, ignoring the fact that they are mostly Kurds. He just does not want to show the humanity of the Israelis to the Turkish people. We accepted the help of Turkish firefighters in the Carmel, and there is no reason that we should not be allowed to reciprocate. I just cannot understand how some of Turkish readers in local papers are happy and see it as a sign of punishment from God to the Kurds. Where is the Turkish humanity?
26. Anton @ 1, looks like ...
leo ,   usa   (10.23.11)
... you hate Israel more than you love Turkey. This is losing position to be in. Just take a look at Palestinian Arabs and you will understand everything.
27. #1, anton
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (10.23.11)
#1 anton is quite right. There is no question that Israel could provide Turkey with invaluable assistance and save many lives. However, there are times when principle must dominate over pragmatism, and therefore though it may hurt Turkey immensely, Turks must not accept assistance from an enemy. God blesses those who hold to principle in the face of great adversity. Turkey is being tested, but I think Turks have the strength to pass this test.

Excellent point Leo. But unfortunately sometimes hate can be so strong that such wisdom often is overlooked.

solomon ,   bklyn   (10.23.11)
However you are describing yourself, we read your post and we hear the opposite. You still want to be able to be PC even if Turks suffer. Gul is the same, as he is hoping, wishing, praying, that Turkey can handle this just so he doesn't have to accept Israels help (or he doesn't have to make excuses when he doesn't accept Israels help even though it was needed.) Point of Order: The 10 killed was a direct result of lawful, legal action by Israel when IHH Terrorists jumped Israeli soldiers during a legal blockade. I know, the IDF came aboard with deadly paint ball guns.
30. The hell with the turkeys!
jason white ,   afula, israel   (10.23.11)
Why are we running after those that hate us to help them? Look at the "leadership" we have, begging to save turks. They are more worried about those that hate us than they worry about us.
