1. Kol Hakovod
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (10.26.11)
Kol Hakovod to those who are signing their names to this petition. They are the finest that Israel has to offer and individuals of whom every Israeli and Jew should be proud. I pray to G-d that Israel never has to put their wishes to the test.
2. foolish youth
Matt ,   UK   (10.26.11)
ahh such bravado. I hope these kids dont live to eat their words. Safest way not to get captured is to say out of the IOF.
3. easy to say now
michal ,   israel   (10.26.11)
its very easy to say that now they dont want to be exchanged for pa terrorists. but five years trapped in a hamas dungeon and they might change their minds.
4. these children should read Rabbi Goren's responsa....
(10.26.11)
on this issue.
5. Seniors before army!
Yoel ,   Israel   (10.26.11)
Boys! This is a very brave appeal, but try not to be captured instead. The Shalit deal was a mistake. dont encourage another. Its hard to understand how terrorists who come to murder us are finally set free.
6. I think this is very cruel and disonest.
mario ,   brazil   (10.26.11)
If they think so, this wasn`t the aproprieted time to speak their opinion.
7. I'm so proud of these kids!
R ,   Israel   (10.26.11)
Their altruism is inspiring.
8. do u mean u love death more than life ?!
Salma ,   Palestine   (10.26.11)
Yea right, Talk is Cheap. Hey teens , stop insulting Gilad Shalit. just because you go through a lot of pain to be loyal, doesn't make you MORE loyal (or brave).
9. Foolish kids
Line Singer ,   Århus, Denmark   (10.26.11)
Talk is cheap my friends. When push comes to shove you'll be singing a different tune for sure.
10. TOTAL Respect for these Brave Young Men
Netanya ,   Netanya   (10.26.11)
Col a Cavod, I have so much respect for their petition and their bravery in wanting to protect Israeli citizens, even at their own peril. Soldiers and men like these are the greatest in our country. They can see how our actions are not helpful and releasing terrorists is not the way to save Israeli lives. I feel so appreciative and so much respect for these kids. Their parents should be swimming is pride.
11. kol hakavod
sara ,   israel   (10.26.11)
strength and saftey to the bravest of our youth- may hashem protect you always. interesting point: most of the israelis here respect your and honour your decision. most chutznikim comments are negative......maybe it has somethiing to do with the fact that being blown up by the released terrorists next time they sit at a cafe with friends isnt a possible reallitiy for them
12. These kids are the beautiful Israel
Yossi Barsheshat   (10.26.11)
Perople who think about their people before themselves. I am proud of them as much as I am ashamed by the Shalit deal.
13. interesting.....but
Dketerstov ,   Israel   (10.26.11)
it would be more clever if you all sign a petition in which the goverment allows you to become a pain in the ass for the terrorists if they kidnap you. :-)
14. Agree #8 Stop insulting Gilad
David ,   Shiloh Israel   (10.26.11)
15. If you save one man's life, it's like you saved humanity
me ,   here   (10.26.11)
It is absolutely vital for the leaders of a civilized country to assure the armed forces, whether professional or drafted, that any MIA or POW will be brought back. No matter what. As for the released terrorists, I am sure Israel can and will deal with them at any proper moment. The released prisoners may laugh now and live in luxury hotels in Gaza, but when they return to terrorist plots, Israeli security is sure to be there too - one step ahead of them. G-d willingly! It would have been safer for them to stay in prison, I believe.
16. #2 & #9
M.J. Eizen ,   Petah Tikvah, Israel   (10.26.11)
To #2, Matt. That is the difference between you and us. Our soldiers dedicate their lives to the defense of the nation, as opposed to professional paid soldiers like the British Army, who do it for a paycheck. Further, the British Army is not exactly known for its valor these days, as evidenced by the fact that during the Iraq War, they hunkered down in Basra, and refused to fight. To #9, Line-your pathetic little country's military forces are nothing to brag about. Must be tough chucking snowballs at the Norwegians and the Swedes. You and Matt are both clueless as to what it means to be a proud soldier who is dedicated to the defense of his country and his people.
17. these boys are true heros
(10.26.11)
18. kol hakavod .. thats the spirit
Jalal ,   Gaza   (10.26.11)
easy to talk but after 5 years .. lets say 5 nights in hamas hands i'm sure the story will change i'm sure that raising kids in a suicidal way is not a solution anyway i hope Palestinians and Israelis kids drop these ideas down and think more about peace and live together
19. Ill sign it too. 1027 proud, ill-do-it-again racist murderer
Reserve Soldier ,   israel   (10.26.11)
murderers now free to do as they believe. This simply can't happen again, and israel needs to put its weight behind creative solutions, not foolhardy ones
20. If u don't want 2 b exchanged 4 terrorists...
Carol ,   Jerusalem   (10.26.11)
then do right by the State of Israel and the Citizens of Israel and catch the terrorists before they strike the civilian population! It seems to me that this petition is all about the wrong focus and that this children are being misguided by adults with a seriously warped political agenda. If the adults involved want to provide real guidance to these children they should be making sure that they are getting proper training and equipment to catch the terrorists before they strike.
21. Petition
Anonynus ,   Rosh Pinna   (10.26.11)
This is a soldier, they would give there lives after so many terrorist caught and soldiers have been killed, I believe that releasing that many for 1 is wrong, maybe one soldier for one.
22. Stats on talk backers
rebecca ,   Modiin   (10.26.11)
any one else notice that the majority of the Pro tbs are Israeli, and most of those who are calling these kids idiots, dont live here?
23. @22 go look at article in Hebrew then comeback & comment!
Carol ,   Jerusalem   (10.26.11)
You will be surprised by what you find there. First of all most Israelis speak read and write Hebrew Secondly, those Israelis who speak read and write Hebrew don't bear out your comment on the translation of this article to English.
24. #3 easy to say
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (10.26.11)
They shouldn't have to sign the petition. It is not the soldier nor his parents who must decide a "Sophie's Choice": the government must decide for the greater good. Now I ask you: is drug-dealer Tennenbaum's freedom worth the 30 dead and many wounded it caused? And if you answer "yes it was worth it" would you say the same if your child was one of the 30?
25. Each one of these future soldiers has
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.26.11)
more guts than bib, ehud buraq, the majority of the cabinet, the Israeli court system, the general staff, the heads of the shabak and moosad combined as well as the po-lice and prison service. We are led by a group of sissy men, not real men and women with guts to face down the world to defend us. What will they think after the next Park Hotel,Dolphinarium or Sbarro massacre? Will they say it was worth it to free Gilad for 1027 terrorists? Or would they say too bad we did not level gaza till he was returned with his captors? For the world Jewish blood is cheap, but for our leaders it is cheap and always on sale.
26. #2: IOF? Yes Royal Marines put their hands up.....
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (10.26.11)
And say "fighting was not an option". With people like you Hitler would've won the war and you would be singing Deutchland Über Alles! Most Israeli kids are proud to serve in the IDF because they know that without Israel there will no longer be a Jewish People which would probably make you jump for joy. The left wingers fail to realize that when terrorists strike they don't ask if you are left or right. They just KILL and have been doing just that for the last 150 years and not just after the "Occupation".
27. Teens inpute/petition
Hulda ,   Israel   (10.26.11)
We are very proud of you young men that can think analitically and clearly and indipendantly as well orderly . May you be grated to be the future leaders of Israel be in the military legal or politically fileds and education . Kahol HaKavod
28. absolute ignorance
(10.26.11)
they should really wait to be in that position before having an opinion. no kid can possibly imagine the situation they and their parents are put in, as well as the rest of the nations soldiers..absolute ignorance.
29. #8 - Salma
Maurice ,   Montreal   (10.26.11)
Hey salma, finally I agree with you on something! :)
30. young idiots
Eugene   (10.26.11)
