1. No milueem ever for Grapel
Amram ,   Netanyah, Israel   (10.25.11)
In fact, he should face chages for stupidity here.
2. who is he? what was he doing there? i read he and his family
ralph   (10.25.11)
are quite anti-israel? is that correct? any jewish tourism to egypt is over. any jew there now must be told you are on your own. the state owes you nothing. you have been warned. the state is not responsible for stupidity.
3. #2: He is an idiot or a goody two shoes!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (10.25.11)
But he is no different from those Israelis who holiday in Egypt and do business in Turkey. These countries are full of people who hate Jews and particularly Israelis and to go and interfere in another country's politics is just plain stupid! As for you thought about his parents being anti-Israel, I can't find anything about it. I suppose if a Peace Now! halfwit was to get captured we would get him out as well! The lunatics are running the asylum!
4. thx, david i certainly agree it frequently seems the lunatic
ralph   (10.26.11)
are running the asylum.
5. And how many were "security" prisoners?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.26.11)
When the government says "most" were arrested for drug smuggling, trafficking and infiltration, one has to ask, "What about the rest?" It's now clear to Israel's neighbors that if they want prisoners released, they need just grab an Israeli - any Israeli will do. So be smart. Don't visit unfriendly countries - that includes Jordan and Turkey.
6. So is he Mossad or not?
Jake ,   USA   (10.25.11)
He doesn't seem like Mossad material, but why else would the Israeli government do anything to help him? Maybe the Egyptian criminals aren't worth the taxpayers money. This whole story is odd.
7. # 6
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.26.11)
Agreed, this story is very odd. Grapel is too dumb to be a Mossad agent!
8. odd story
pnina ,   israel   (10.26.11)
This whole story is odd because it's really an American deal behind the scenes, theUS pulling the strings on both sides to make it happen and not look like they're involved. Both sides would have had a price to pay had they not made this happen.
9. list reveals the fooling of your own Jewish people
observer ,   Egypt   (10.26.11)
6 of the 25 were jailed for smuggling weapons. I assume that at lest half of the remaining 19 were also weapon smugglers, but the charge was not confirmed. 9 of the 25 were captured before June 2006, so the remaining 10 opted not to admit the ominous charge of arms smuggling after that date. When was arms smuggling not security issue?! APPEASEMENT.
10. drug dealers ARE security threat
observer ,   Egypt   (10.26.11)
Cannabis smuggling has been going on for decades; ONE way from Israel to Egypt. In this case I agree that drug dealers ARE security threat, NOT for Israel but for Egypt.
11. Once this dimwiy is released...he will be talking on CNN
Al   (10.26.11)
smack against Israel. Who the F is this bozo? Why would Israel bust their gut for this nothing? Who is he and why was he in Egypt? It stinks the whole damn business stinks. Israel has fallen terribly from Entebbes time. Netanyahu..you ave made Israel weaker by the moment...you got to go.
12. chest game
jhonny ,   Norway   (10.27.11)
this move is just a coverup, israel want he so it can trade him to the united state for other things. smart move by the israel government, getting him off egypt hand and trading him for something bigger from the united states. israel government are not stupid, have some faith, this is bigger than it look.
