Sarah, do you have a realistic assessment of Iranian and Israeli power that you can the above with such confidence? Remember Yom Kipur? We almost lost that one and paid a very high price. Israel is simply not capable of waging a long distance war for a sustained period of time, and certainly not without a high human and economic cost. We don't have enough ammunition. We don't even have a solution for 12 year old Pali rock throwers let alone Iranian ones. We will be more hampered in dealing with them than our Iraqi predecessors.

Is that your idea of "almost losing a war?" And I'm not even broaching the subject of whether Israel would have decided to exercise a non-conventional option. 2. Iran HAS no power. It's conventional materiel is aged, and despite loud trumpeting to the contrary coming from Teheran, they do not have credible missile defense capability. Moreover, the mullahs do not trust the Army. They do trust the Revolutionary Guard but, in case you haven't heard, the Revolutionary Guard is busy putting down a lot of civilian protests throughout Iran that no one hears about, but that occur on a daily basis. 3. It won't be a sustained war, because it will not be a conventional war. 4. Iranian rock throwers? Do you REALLY think that any Israeli soldier will set foot on Iranian soil? Uh-uh. This war, as I said, will not be conventional. Iran will NOT survive. 5. Palestinian rock throwers? Easy to fix. A couple of rounds of live ammo instead of rubber bullets and tear gas will solve the problem fairly quickly.
