What happened to IRON FIST ?

Iron Dome worked as well as you can expect, maybe even better. No complex defense system can be perfect. That is why no country would ever rely on such a system to protect its citizens and instead would destroy their enemy. No country, that is, except a country that would keep a proven failure like Ehud Barak as DM or that would pardon terrorists who murder her children.

Why are we still supplying water and electricity to Gaza when this is going on? Why aren't we cutting off all of our aid until they stop the rockets? why do we have a puss for a minister? why aren't we blowing up the damn tunnels where all of these amunitions come from?

Israel's P.M. is responsible for what the defense depart does, or doesnt do. That is how it SHOULD BE. The P.M. and Knesset and security cabinets make policy, NOT the defense bureacracy. Dont blame Barak, whose polices are a dismal failure. Israels responses are poorly thought out..tit for tat so to speak. But the Islamists fire into civilian areas..while Israel targets military sites of a launcher or two, or rocket factories as possible. It is designed to fool and appeae the US and UN. Remember the charge of "collateral damage" and "excessive force". Hez says it will bomb Tel Aviv next. I believe them. Will Iron dome be fully protective? We all know the ans to that one.

Its all part and parcel of Israel's overall, timid, strategy..looking over her shoulder at all its adversaries. What would Sharon do I wonder? How would Begin, Gurion, Shamir, Dayan and even Golda react to constant provocations? Would they cry to the UN, as is the newly appointmed ambassador? Will that stop the Grads I ask? Israel has every right to overfly the Strip..and not worry about retaliatory rockets into its cities. Taking out a street in, starting with Gaza, would do more good than all the Iron Domes., which are expensive. and cannot stop the Pluto effect...one leak..leads to another to another to another,,,fixing the boat is the answer..with layersof steel.

The anti-rocket missile defence system,whether "Iron Dome" or "Galosh", is but a delusion,and all world armies know that . When enemy rockets are fired in salvoes after salvoes there is hardly any chance for such missile defence systems to succeed in intercepting more than 5% of the oncoming hostile rockets,and the IDF must be aware of that ; just imagine if hundreds of rockets were launched at Israel by HAMAS,HIZBULLAH, Syria,and Iran at the same time ! Would Israel be able to retaliate effectively against them all ? Gone are the days when Israel's strategy of " offense is best defence " worked very well in the sixties and seventies . From the moment HAMAS was born in 1988 I have suspected Israel is willingly but tacitly playing "cat & mouse " with the Palestinians( i.e. implementing,piece by piece, a long-awaited plan just like I suspect the 1973 Yom Kippur War was a pre-arranged plan with the tacit knowledge & approval of the Israeli government ) . Let me ask : could n't Israel launch an all-out invasion of the Gaza Strip to drive out HAMAS leaders( & install the PA in its place) just like Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982 & drove out PLO leaders. It cetainly could . So why is Israel tolerating a mortally-dangerous troublemaker in the south ?

Iron Fist is a competitor to the Trophy tank protection system not a missile defense one. We do though need to respond to this attack with an Iron Fist rather than wondering where is our precious Iron Dome who will come to our rescue all the time.

I am sure they will get the system up and working shortly. The problem is the system did not work when under attack. The USA taxpayers who funded the useless pork project should be thankful because in the long run it will kill a lot more of these silly defense projects. The iron dome is only capable of protecting 3 blocks of homes at a cost of more than the homes are worth. Why not buy out the homes in the short distance the cheap rockets can travel and let the jewish owners live were they really want to be which is brooklyn.

Why don't you make peace with the Palestinians so you don't have to ask so many WHY's?! Don't rely on Iron Domes it's really a DUMB idea!

The Palestinians continue to fire rockets into Israel indiscriminately, without regard to what, where, or who they hit. Defense alone will not stop that. Only retaliation will. Since the so-called international community will not condemn the Palestinians for their actions, Israel should respond in kind with rocket salvos into the Gaza cities. Of course, the world will rush to condemn that, but the world doesn't care if Israel is bombarded. Retaliation in kind is what it will take to put an end to the missile attacks on Israel.
