Yes Jihad took some casualties but they are acceptable. One Israeli was killed, several others wounded and there was considerable property damage in Israel. Jihad found out that Israel seemed to be hampered by Goldstone. Speaches by Lieberman, Peres and the defense establishment telling of the cost to hamas fell on deaf ears. Not only in Gaza but Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. If economic targets in Gaza were burning the rocket fire would have stopped. My understanding is that the IAF were permitted about 10 sorties.
