1. JUST UNTIL THE NEXT TIME
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.30.11)
Sadly ,the long siffering residents of Israels' south can expect more of the same which is inevitable sooner or later.Due ,in large part ,to the weak leadership and hot air and empty threats and rhetoric emanating from the moths of messrs .Lieberman ,Barak and Netanyahu .Israeli warnings have been devalued .
2. LIEBERMANS' WORDS
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.30.11)

4. GOVT .APPROVES 10 NEW NEGEV
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.30.11)
Communities .That's right folks .The israel Government has just approved ten new communities in the Negev but who in their right mind ,or even their wrong mind ,wants to live in the blisteringly hot negev ,under constant rocket fire ?
5. Typical Government response:NATO
Shlomo ,   USA   (10.30.11)
NATO=No Action, Talk Only
6. Sorrow!
Taz Man ,   USA   (10.30.11)
I feel so sorry for the people of Israel, for having such weak leaders' (cowards). The people deserve better than this. Dear, God...help Israel, your people! God bless Israel and His Jerusalem! A Christian Zionist
7. is the Southern command vacationing in the Golan?
dixie ,   Israel   (10.30.11)
And 20 minutes after this deja vu of government denial that the south is under attack, yet another bomb fell. So just what does the IDF consider "Gaza fighting"? Once again, seems to be more evidence that life in the South is not terribly important to the politicians or the army.....
8. "GAZA FIGHTING OVER FOR NOW "
THE FAT LADY ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (10.30.11)
It aint over until I sing.
9. The Israeli electorate is getting very frustrated
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (10.30.11)
For decades the government has taken a mostly passive approach, coming out about two or three times each decade with an iron fist that creates about a year or two of calm. The people know that this is not working and plays into the hands of the Arabs, who continue to pretend that they want peace while encouraging and praising attacks against our civilians. The mayors are correct - keep the schools closed until the government and IDF can guarantee safety. For years, the Palestinians would commit daily war crimes by firing missiles between 7-8 in the morning when kids were going to school. It took years of this behavior before Cast Lead. Instead of allowing the rocket and mortar fire to continue every week (and rest assured, there will be rockets and/or mortars in the next week) - Bibi should get on the tv and declare in English with Arabic subtitles that the next missile fired from Gaza into Israel is an act of war, and that Israel will recognize an active state of war with Gaza and will respond accordingly. For decades, the Palestinians have gotten away with murder and war crimes. The voters are getting fed up with getting shot at and the IDF being ordered to blow up an empty shack or drop a bomb into an empty field. Yes, they hit the odd missile crew and kill a few of them, but the mortars and Grads and qassams just keep on coming. The next one means war. And war means we should hit back with overwhelming force - that's what war is all about. Forget the weak-kneed Europeans who will shout "disproportionate response". That cry is not only wrong - it reveals how stupid the Europeans have become. War is won by overwhelming the enemy. War is waged by shooting at the enemy - which the Palestinians are doing to us all the time. We are permitted by international law to shoot back (yea, read my lips: this is defensive action, not aggression) and we are allowed to crush out enemy militarily. If Hamas and Jihad choose to reject peace and wage war while cowering behind women and children, then the Palestinians will pay the price. Wake up, world. The Palestinians are continuing to commit war crimes and the time will come when we will strike hard and not let up until they sue for peace. Who is to blame? Not just the Palestinians, but also those who support their war crimes - and that means far too many members of the European parliament and NGOs that claim they are "human rights" organizations.
10. War after war NOT ethical: BIG ISRAEL, minimal total pain.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (10.30.11)
11. At least I won't have pictures of the dumb arses (my govt.)
tom ,   tel aviv   (10.30.11)
constantly on TV and in papers. I don't watch news for years now, but still, it's impossible to get "hit" by some snippets here and there and I cannot fathom how the hell people can take it any more! What a sad-sad bunch of impotents we've become.
12. Perhaps the appropriate response ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.30.11)
.... would be to fire deeper into Gaza. Actually, we should turn it into a pile of rubble. That message would resonate deeply in Teheran, who is behind the escalation, anyway. Oh, hell. Perhaps we should turn Teheran into a pile of rubble. That will send the message loud and clear. Not to mention unmistakably.
13. Israeils three stooges Netanyahu, Barak Lieberman
Al   (10.30.11)
Israel's IDF is a laughing stock in the military world. Pathetic is how best to describe modern Israel. Israel is sleepwalking to its own demise.
14. GAZA ROCKETS ARE UNIMPORTANT
LAWRENCE ,   SAFED ISRAEL   (10.30.11)
We do not care .What matters is the price of cottage cheese.
15. Many in Gaza must feel emboldened
Stephen in New York   (10.30.11)
by Israel’s agreeing to trade one thousand for one. They think Israel is weak: Hezbollah’s “spider web” metaphor. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. The Pals will get what they always get. The Palestinians always overreach.
16. # 13
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.30.11)
This is the way you talk about the IDF & Israel whilst your 2 sons are serving in the IDF at present?? Shame on you.
17. Nope,
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.30.11)
its not over & it wont be over until Gaza is carpet bombed totally.
18. Birdi I am pissed as you can well imagine
Al   (10.30.11)
My kids are putiing their lives on the line when the government doesnt give a good god damn. How the F should I feel? Tell me will ya?
19. idf estiamtes
mohson   (10.30.11)
israelis, be ready to take cover now that jihad has multiple rocket launchers. The only thing that jihad is afraid of is being killed wholesale. and barak will not do it today, tomorrow or ever. So take precautions and assume that they will fire. Barak's assurances are worthless.
20. DAYAN DOCTRINE ON ITS' HEAD
David ,   New York, NY   (10.31.11)
As everyone knows, Dayan's doctrine said that while the IDF cannot protect every square inch of the country, the price that the terrorists and their sponsors will pay will be so great that the price paid for their acts will serve as the deterrent. The current so-called policy takes that doctrine and turns it on its' head: With continual attacks, the strategic gain for Israel's enemies is so great and the price in comparison so small that there is great incentive to CONTINUE attacking, little by little eroding the morale of the nation. DISASTROUS!
21. They are still trying to kill you
John ,   Alaska   (10.31.11)
This article reads: "The latest round of fighting in the Gaza-region is over, for now, IDF officials estimated Sunday evening. ... "The army's announcement came despite two more rocket attacks from Gaza Sunday evening; two Qassam fired from the Strip exploded in open territory, causing no casualties or damage. Three more rockets were fired from Gaza around midnight and landed in open spaces in the south." Um ... you guys _do_ know that they're still trying to kill you, right?
22. To #4 Lawrence - I would.
John ,   Alaska   (10.31.11)
It's still part of Israel. The desert will bloom and Israel's enemies will be defeated by Ha'Shem. There is no part of Israel that should not be built up.
23. To #10 Jerry re your posts
John ,   Alaska   (10.31.11)
You really should consider actually writing a body for your posts; there are people who don't know what you mean by big Israel, and there are people who should know why this is desirable. I'm not among them; I know what you are talking about and heartily agree with you. But you do have a larger audience than just myself.
24. To #12 Sarah B - you sound as frustrated
John ,   Alaska   (10.31.11)
as I feel. Of course, both Gaza (which will be a ruin and eventually used by the Jews for pastureland) and Iran (which will be rendered uninhabitable for many decades) have their fates already decided. Until then, my question is what to do about their babies. You know, babies like ours they murder without remorse and without even a peep from vaunted International Community. I feel like they are holding hostages. Not Gilad any more, thank G-d. And not the Israeli populace, who are guaranteed to survive. But they have children. Unrepentant Sodom and unrepentant Nineveh were destroyed to the last of the babies and cattle. In the first case, this was after Lot and is family were literally dragged from the place by angels. In the latter case, it was after the children of the youngest people who remembered the Jonah event had died out (presumably without teaching _their_ children the lesson of Jonah). This is mostly a thought exercise, but of obvious importance to anyone who follows the One who teaches us to value life. One idea I have is this: give these horrid people _one_ chance. Tell them "you are in danger of judgement; leave, repent, or stay as you are and die." Another idea is this: Ha'Shem has already given them lots of time to leave or to repent. Just do your thing, as Yisrael is His timepiece. You are central to his work in this world and can trust that He would not let you go where He would not have you go. Ignoring their innocents is _not_ a viable choice unless Ha'Shem specifically told you to do so. Down that path lies madness and you won't survive that unless He is leading you through that. Staying still like sheep about to be slaughtered, which your Defense Minister has taught his people to do, is not a viable option. The words "Never Again" were given to you by Ha'Shem. The status quo is NOT His will for your people. (speaking of Never Again, I have what may be an insight into the Shoah and theodicy) But aside from keep as you are, warn them first, trust G-d already to have warned them, or ignore the innocents, I can't think of another course of action. I am not wise, only knowledgeable - and that is debatable. Perhaps someone wise would lend a word of advice here.
25. Re #15 Stephen, I do wonder
John ,   Alaska   (10.31.11)
What ever became of the Arabs making Israel agree that one Jew = 1000 of the enemy? Isn't one of your lives worth 1000 of the Muslims', like the Muslims said? Or does the government only use this equivalence when they're letting murderers out to murder again?
26. Al
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.31.11)
We as parents will always worry about our children,no matter what age they are. I have sons in the IDF aswell & I do not go around bad mouthing the IDF or the government, even if I disagree with the government. Have your sons ever complained to you about any part of their service in the IDF? I doubt it. Your role in your son's lives now is to give them 100% support, encouragement, trust, love & to believe with all your heart that they will be just fine. I have told you before, you are projecting very bad vibes, the sooner you change your attitude, the better. If you keep on believing something bad will happen to your sons (GF) you project those negative feelings onto them. These are the worst kind of thoughts & feelings you can harbour for your sons. If you dont believe that G*D will take care of your sons then try hard to believe in their will & strength for their own survival, so they can finish their 3 years of IDF service without any tragedy. Please try to lighten up & be strong.
27. What the Hell is going on?
Cameron ,   USA   (10.31.11)
28. What else is new?
Trueblue ,   Phoexnix, USA   (10.31.11)
Jews have always been outnumbered wherever they've been. So in many ways they had to turne the other cheeck..but all to no aval. No other group of people have been so persecuted for so many years in so many places and for no logical reason. . It no longer matters why..How in the world can it be explained other than we inhabit a chaotic and primitive world. What is important now is that we fight back for if we don't history will repeat itself. More persecutions, more horror more death. It is better to die fighting and have self respect than humble ourselves again before this sick world which doesn't give a damn what happens to us and for the most part wishes it will.
29. This is SO WEAK. Israel's leaders definitely asking for more
Scott ,   Australia   (10.31.11)
Really, this is insane. That man who was killed the other day (like all the others) - died for nothing. Sorry, it certainly seems so...and plenty more to come . WHY??
30. "The tail wags the dog"
(10.31.11)
Madness. Get in there an execute a proper response or more will die for nothing!
