1. France wtf!
TV ,   Israel   (10.31.11)
France!!! shut up france???? after their unesco vote today how do they have the nerve to say that...why quote them in the article as sympathizers of the situation anyways???
2. Ceasefire? Is there a Ceasefire?
Chaim ,   Arad   (10.31.11)
3. rocket fire from gaza
marv   (10.31.11)
rocket fire from gaza directly attributed to barak's comments about no desire to go into gaza. What a fool!Arabs thhink you are weak, you are weak so they fire. You are scared of egypt, you are scared of rockets, you are scared period. Bibi, do yourself and israel a favour. Move barak to a new office where he fixes watches. Appoint yaalon to defense and bring back galant. Then we'll see. And vilnai better be quiet about barak.
4. France shame on you
Gallula ,   Paris   (10.31.11)
As French citizen I am ashamed but not surprised There are so many Muslims here that this corward government has had to approve in order to calm the French suburbs Poor country !!!
5. "Gaza breaches ceasefire" - THAT should be the headline.
Harry Wright ,   UK   (10.31.11)
Who the hell comes up with these vague headlines??? I expect that from BBC. No wonder Israel's hasbara is so poor. Even the Israeli media likes to hop, skip and jump. Lieberman will always have his following because he is direct and straight to the point. So we see that Bibi says one thing while others contradict what he says. Then we get: school will resume...um...no, school will not resume...um...yes, it will resume. Then the Iron Dome did not do its job because...um...they are using a different type of rocket launcher...um...no, it was the clouds...um...no, it suffered a mechanical failure...um...um...um... IS ANYBODY IN CHARGE IN ISRAEL??? Or is it a free for all and anything goes? Then internationally, France and BanKi Looney urge "both parties to exercise restraint" when they should be demanding that the Gazans exercise restraint and stop firing rockets into Israel. All of them are quick to call out Israel but none of them want to call out Gaza, including Ynet and BBC. Dammit! When will Israel SPEAK UP instead of thumping its chest about how moral it is! This is so LAME! Nobody outside of Israel cares two bits about how moral Israel is. That is the truth. Then France is "concerned about a possible escalation in the area" but endorses the Pals violence against Israel by voting in UNESCO to give this terrorist "state" full membership and therefore full recognition.
6. what I don't really get
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (10.31.11)
is that Israel only seems to react whenever these thugs feel the need to fire rockets at Israel's civilian population. If the threat hamas represents is structural, in the sense of being constant, isn't Israel obliged to take away this threat? I mean, every now and then southern Israel experiences a barrage of rocket fire, IAF bombs, and then then a cease-fire is pronounced. The problem is that Hamas doesn't agree with the ceasefire out of peaceful intentions, they just procrastinate. This situation is not, nor can it be, tenable in the long run. You don't have to be israeli to comprehend that.
7. #6, I agree
Charlie ,   Alabama, USA   (10.31.11)
The Palestinians feel they've been treated unfairly, but so have I, and I've learned that as long as I keep losing my temper, I'll just keep getting treated unfairly some more. The Palestinians are never going to get what they want by getting mad.
8. full scale military operation in gaza is needed
(10.31.11)
9. Salma - your heroes are back at work again.
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (10.31.11)
Nothing like some Palestinian war crimes to start the week, huh? ============= "Whether or not attacks actually result in civilian casualties, they are in violation of international law, which also prohibits attacks aimed at spreading terror among the civilian population. The patterns of attacks and statements by members and leaders of Palestinian groups also indicate that they have no qualms about launching attacks against civilians and that they in fact carry out such attacks intending to kill and injure Israeli civilians. Such attacks constitute war crimes." Amnesty International
10. Why does Egypt have to broker a ceasefire
Harry Wright ,   UK   (10.31.11)
with "militant groups". Hamas is the government which is in charge of Gaza and Hamas is responsible for the rocket fire. When rockets are fired from Gaza then all of Hamas and Gaza must be accountable. This nonsense about defining Islamic Jihad, PFLP, Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigade, PTA, Student Council, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, YMCA, YWCA, Rotary club and Sesame Street club should stop. It is Gaza and Hamas - beginning, middle and end and nothing in between those three.
11. The rockets are fired, note, by a UNESCO member state,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (10.31.11)
and the world, as in the 1930s and 1940s, is silent...!!
12. Enough is enough
Baker ,   Usa   (10.31.11)
Time to see if the Gaza can swim.
13. Do not be alarmed they are just
tea man ,   marjayoun   (10.31.11)
testing the iron dome defense if its working you all be smiling tomorrow if not they you can get to be mad
14. they are only celebrating..
hanni ,   tel aviv   (10.31.11)
it's a total misunderstanding! they do not really want to attack israel, they only want to celebrate the UNESCO-vote and show/share some of their cultural assets!
15. HAHAHAHAHA
JUDEA ,   DAVID   (10.31.11)
The media here are really a bunch of suckers. They should try to live in the south for a while and experience a ongoing war, with which our dear government refuses to deal with. If it was not so tragic, one would laugh in the faces of all the idiots in charge.
16. Celebration
John ,   Herzliya, Israel   (10.31.11)
I guess this is the way they are celebrating recent vote for their UNESCO membership.
17. #4 - French government behaving cowardly
Maurice ,   Montreal   (10.31.11)
There are plenty of moslems in the Netherlands and Germany (specially in Germany, the Turks make up the largest minority group). Yet the governments of these countries were not afraid to side with what is right. The French government is just scared of the moslem backlash. Yes, they are being cowardly. Sarcozy, you should me ashamed!
18. #5 - Harry you are so right!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (10.31.11)
Most world media is not ashamed of not wanting to bring up the real culprits, the Hamas, to the forefront of the news. They always have to refer to "both sides". It goes to show just how objective the world media is...NOT!!!
19. #15. We must remember too, the headlines make the first
Harry Wright ,   UK   (10.31.11)
impact and gets into your subconscious. If BBC makes a headline like "Israel attacks targets in Gaza", what will be the subliminal message there? Some articles from Israeli newspapers are available on other online sites so at least the headlines should be more meaningful.
20. What is the IDF waiting for?
Rabbi Yakov Lazaros ,   USA   (10.31.11)
Its time to bomb the hell out of Gaza and stop supplying them with goods through the crossings. Make them feel the wrath of G-d and come begging for a ceasefire.
21. STOP THE ROCKETS
Richard ,   Boca Raton USA   (10.31.11)
Would any other country take the pounding that Israel has been taking? What would Russia, China or the USA do in a similar circumstance? They would pound the s**t out of the aggressor. Israel is letting too much happen not to reply with OVERWHELMING FORCE by killing thousands of Palestinians - military and civilian. After a few thousand Palestinians are sent to Allah, maybe these idiots will stop shooting rockets into Israel. I have never seen such a PUSSYFIED Israeli government. Take care of your people Mr. Netanyahu!! As an American Jew I am disgusted and embarrassed by the lack of strength shown by the Israeli government and the IDF.

alsky ,   Toronto   (10.31.11)
to Elat. God help me !
25. so much for assurances from home front command
marcel   (10.31.11)
you recall home front said kids could go back to school. I said no, don't listen because they are likely wrong. and so they are wrong again as gaza missiles fly. Look, the idf is not to blame for gaza missiles flying. it goes back to peres, then barak, later olmert and now barak at defense who will target hanieyh and kill him- along with zohar, masri and al their key leutenants. And barak is so scared of navi pillay that he hits empty buildings most of the time. And the arabs are persistent in their false narrative. They don't tire from their objective-they want tokill israel. The land-forget about it. They treat it as a garbage dump. There are only 2 2 israeli who can redeem israeli deterrence. One is lieberman, and the other is feiglin. if either was elected PM, arabs leaders would start packing. By the way, a country that doesn't properly defend its sovereignty, doesn't deserve its soverignty. Sp long as bibi hooks his wagon to barak, he will not defend israel's sovereignty.
26. Sorry, my post #19 was meant for #18 Maurice
Harry Wright ,   U   (10.31.11)
27. Time to take action:
Koose E Mack ,   NY NY   (10.31.11)

28. EXCELLENT Marcell #22!!! YES!
Israeli 2   (10.31.11)
29. There are two people in Israel that HaShem loves profoundly.
Rivkah   (11.01.11)
Put Ariel Sharon and Shimon Peres in an armored vehicle and drive them in the areas that are being shelled. HaShem Himself will stop the rockets. Keep them in the South of Israel. When Ariel Sharon was at Tel Hashomer near Tel Aviv, the rockets from Lebanon in 2006 which were able to hit Tel Aviv, miraculously did not. Jerusalem is protected by Ariel Sharon being at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital there. Put Peres in an armored vehicle and drive him back and forth across the South with or without Sharon who is protecting Jerusalem by HaShem's love for Sharon. DO IT. Or put me in the South of Israel since I am Solomon in the ELS Scripture code matrix on my name.
30. Two old warriors need to be on the front line.
Rivkah   (11.01.11)
As long as Moses was overseeing battles and people held up his arms, the ancient Hebrews won. Someone needs to do that with Israel's two old warriors that HaShem loves and says so in the ELS Scripture codes. HaShem says He loves A(riel) Sharon and that Shimon Peres is the strongest man in Israel. Use that strength and put at least one of them in the South while HaShem's love for Ariel Sharon in Jerusalem protects Jerusalem.
