34. RE: #4 - French government behaving cowardly
Tzviya ,   Illinois- USA   (11.01.11)
I do not expect anything differently from the french govt. I agree w/ you, Maurice. If france did not have someone backing them thru WWI, WWII. . .. they would be in a worse situation than what they are now. Sadly, they will learn the hard way soon.
35. #25 right on!
Joe ,   Toronto Canada   (11.01.11)
I would only add that since everyone in the south has to take cover and the kids are home, why not use the time to march on Jerusalem. Enough is enough - or else had over the Negev to Hamas.
36. So ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.01.11)

tom ,   tel aviv   (11.01.11)
waste you energies on this wee-bit of "escalation", really!! We the Israelis never see the Big Picture! Our mortal enemies at Tnuva & Strauss are plotting our demise and you are getting all upset because somebody died in an explosion? Listen to Liberman and be assured ; now go to sleep....
38. The time for tit and tat is over
Tim ,   Brighton   (11.01.11)
Every rocket must be seen and taken for what it is Hamas is waging a unilateral war on Israel - period No country on earth would tolerate such constant and outrageous attacks Hamas must know that it has come to the end of the road here. Israel has shown to the world incredible restraint with so called proportional and soft responses that patently DONT WORK. What we need now is a powerful destructive response over a period of days that attacks the very heart of Hamas and their military infrastructure. Destroy ALL the tunnels, ALL training grounds and ALL Hamas C and C centres. Destroy ALL trucks, ALL military vehicles and ALL weapons dumps This is NOT collective punishment nor indeed any sort of punishment of the Gazan people. This is Israel exercising its right and duty to protect its citizens from these barbaric attacks. And it is HAMAS who WILL pay the price And very few in Gaza will shed ANY tears (execpt perhaps for Chris Gunnes of UNWRA?)
39. Not good Bibi!
Ypip ,   Canada   (11.01.11)
This is not a new situation to anyone. The defense policy of the Israeli army is loosing confidence of Israeli citizens. In fact- the local councils are proving to be correct, and there are just to too many confusing and mixed messages coming from the Home Command by this governments lack of leadership. This is a SEVERE crisis in so many directions; from the Netanyahu govt. to the very expensive Iron Dome which is proving to be pretty useless. Netanyahu is not sending the proper vows either. What he should be saying is that the IDF will not cease its operations in the Strip until the Gaza groups are ELIMINATED!!!! If there was a Likud vote tomorrow; Bibi would be out and Lieberman would be in. Barak would then be fired!
40. Tom, Tel Aviv, Why are you resentful? are you from Tnuva?
David ,   Raanana, Israel   (11.01.11)
41. Bibi's leadership
Brian GC ,   Australia   (11.03.11)
Those who are critical of Netanyahu's leadership regards to militant Islam should remember he shares government with a number of other parties. The Israeli's themselves can be blamed for the current impasse; they should have backed Bibi's party more fully.
