1. But the biggest losers? The Palestinians of course.
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (11.02.11)
Never failing to live up to their reputation that they always take the opportunity to miss an opportunity.
2. There are no Palestinian territories
Klug   (11.02.11)
And the PA is just a nicer word for the PLO terror organisation.
3. Before the terrorist Arafat
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.02.11)
There was peace and security. The Arabs had a far better life than they do under Arab control. What exactly is the down side here?
4. This makes no sense -- heaping piles of ridiculous
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (11.02.11)
So on the one hand they are out urging states to join their political games by having the UN recognize that there already exists a Palestinian state -- and on the other hand they are saying they are going to dissolve the rump of a state that does exist, into nothingness? To say that this is silly is an understatement.
5. Taken Yaacov Peri's obvius infatuation&respect
tom ,   tel aviv   (11.02.11)
for the "Palestinian Authority" I propose he'll take up a permanent residence in Ramallh and run for office there as well. I will provide the gas-money....
6. we have heard this one plenty of times before
zionist forever   (11.02.11)
Arafat used to reguarly threaten to break up the PA and Seab Erikat has put forward the idea many times in the past when the palestinians were not getting it all their own way. If Israel doesn't give us this that and the other then there is a real risk the PA will be dissolved ... its a scare tactic. The PA top brass don't want it broken up, the ordinary people on the street don't want it broken up because that means full Israeli miltary control everywhere, there will be no palestinian civilian government body. Now Abbas has his triumph with UNESCO membership there is no way they want to break up the PA, they are on a roll .. its like an athlete winning a gold medal and then saying well I am planning to quit the sport so take your medal back and I am going home. This is the usual palestinian scare tactic designed to get Israel to make concessions to avoid the PA break up happening.
7. Why Abbas is lying as always...
Roscio ,   Rome, Italy   (11.02.11)
He and his embezzler-in-chief Fayyad both know that the minute they dissolve their government security, Hamas will have their bodies hung from the nearest lampposts. They also don't want to give up their free feeding trough of billions of dollars and euros in handouts that come in from the US, EU and UN.
8. WE Should Have Dismantled Them: Years Ago
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (11.02.11)
Let's leave aside the fact that they never should have existed. But in 2000, once they chose war, terror, and Intifada, the government of Israel should have declared Oslo null and void on the grounds that the Philistines committed a gross breach of contract. We should have sent them all back to Tunis and Beirut immediately- minus those who would need to stand trial for their crimes. We can still do that now, and in fact, we should.
9. Why don't u ask a Palestinian?
HumHum   (11.02.11)
Magnezi should at least consult a Palestinian expert to balance the report. You'd be surprised at how many Palestinians will support such a move in the absence of an agreement; even Palestinians who get their salaries from the PA.
10. to #9 since when palis reports is truthfull
ghostq   (11.02.11)
palis known to tilte numbers and data (rewriting history) in order to get what they want, hence none count on pali report, not even arab nations.
11. it does not matter what the world says
david ben gurion ,   sde boker   (11.02.11)
but what israel does
12. I'm a wee bit confused or maybe
Jock the Bock!   (11.02.11)
I'm just thick uptop! How would it be so bad if the PA was disbanded. Then it wouldn't be Israel's problem and frankly, after making the mistake of handing Gaza over to the Palis, would that not make it simpler to throw out the Meshaal gang also?
13. Joke of the Week!
Gershon ,   London england   (11.02.11)
This is the upside down crackpot world of modern Israel: "Israeli experts" are "worried" that Israel may have to retake control of its ancestral homeland.
14. Breakup of terrorist P.A. would be great for Israel.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.04.11)
The terrorist P.A. is one of the most dangerous enemies Israel faces. Anyone who pretends the P.A. is Israel's friend is either a moron or willfully blind. Everything the P.A. does; in the political or terrorist arena, is aimed at harming Israel. The breakup of the P.A. would be great for Israel. Israel should have dismantled it long ago.
15. what happens after abbas or pa??
art ,   jersey city nj USA   (11.06.11)
not that I believe or trust abbas or pa/plo/fatah or think that they want peace But as we are learning from egypt is there any reason to believe a peace treaty survives a change in the pa? What if hamas takes over or islamic jihad? Will Israel get the land back? I doubt it
