The British public don't give a damn about Iran getting nuclear weapons, they don't see it as their problem and if the government did this is would probably not go down well for the government. If Iran retaliated and sunk any British ships or shot down any planes in the Gulf then the British public would be furious because this would have been seen as being done for Israel and British sailors and pilots would have died for Israel and that would guarantee this government would lose the next election. In the US, don't expect Obama to do anything. He wouldn't anyway and now he is just one year away from an election there is no way he will chance getting involved in another Middle Eastern conflict. It would again be seen as doing this for Israel and if any American ships were sunk or planes shot down it would destroy any hope Obama has of getting reelected. It is also very unlikely Israel will try anything either because I just don't think we have the hardware to go to Iran undetected, fly to many different nuclear sites, drop the bombs and get out. We don't have any stealth jets or dedicated heavy bombers. The world will continue to play diplomatic games and go round and round in circles until the day Iran announces its joined the nuclear club and then the west will sit up and say to themselves how could we have allowed this to happen?

Nice to see someone taking the Iranian nuclear threat seriously. The anniversary of the 1979 hostage crisis is coming up, a good day to send a strong message to those fundamentalists that we remember and won't let them hold the region hostage with nuclear weapons.

All the aircraft carrirers with their Harrier jets have gone to the scrapheap so there is no way the UK could ever launch any kind of air war against Iran. The only way they could carry out the Libya operation was by flying from a base in Cyprus. Its one thing to just travel from Cyprus to drop a few bombs in Gaddafi but for a major operation like attacking Iran they need carriers where the planes can quickly land and rearm & refuel, they can't spend hours flying between Cyprus & Iran. If Obama was going to hit Iran, which he isn't then getting the British would be pointless because they are in no position to be of any use to anybody thanks to the cutbacks made in the navy.

What moral right do the USA and Co have to start a new war after Iraq? No weapons of mass destruction was found, yet millions were killed under "democratic" bombs, the whole country destroyed. Talking about a "threat" - yet Iran held no war at the time when the USA destroys one country after another - every decade on every continent. What a madness - and so many people still believe in stories about Iran. Why the USA aren't bombing North Korea or Pakistan for owing nucler weapon? Or Russia? Or China? Any rational reason? Aren't they a "threat" for the whole world?

attacking pakistan or north korea can be heavy damage for the world since they already have nuclear weapons. attacking iran to prevent nukes is a whole other story. iran's government is a crazy one. Why? because government should run the country in a world order manner, without associating religion into the equation. religion is great and should be respected no matter the religion, but to run a country based on a religion like the ayatollahs are doing, acting ridiculous because they are convinced god is on their side and will protect them no matter what happens - is just a massacre on our people. We dont want war, with anyone, but our government will bring war upon us and in the end us the iranian people will pay the price. The 1 benefit after all this and all the deaths that will occur is that our clowning government will hopefully change to a normal and democratic government.

An Iranian nuclear device will be used sooner rather than later. Iran has experimented with launching short-range (300 miles) ballistic missiles from containers on ships. That means the US east and west coasts are at risk once Iran deploys a weapon. Israel is not alone in being at risk.

Here in Israel we know that the Iranian people are already paying a huge price for their idiotic government. BUT... please don't expect things to change in your country unless the THE PEOPLE do the changing. But I still hope that someday this will happen and our countries will be good friends.
