There is no chance for sanctions to have an effect on a regime that is much more irrational than even Syria's & deeply ideologically driven. And this is not taking into account all the loopholes Iran has to circumvent several sanctions, even more so than North Korea. Does Washington believe that a UN report on more Iran violations of security council resolutions will cause a sudden unified action of all member nations to fully isolate Iran? I would bet NO. The time lost in pursuing failed, dead on start, policies with a dictatorship is helping Iran getting closer to reach its objective, assuming it has not yet reached it by securing nuclear weapons from a North Korea eager for foreign currency.
