1. Let's hope for massive downpour on this Saturday
tom ,   tel aviv   (11.09.11)
2. Enough already?
Alon Frank ,   Beth Shemesh,Israel   (11.09.11)
When will this anti religious propaganda stop? The murder was sad,but to remember it 16 years is a bit too much. Why don't we remember other politicians that died such as David ben Gurion and Golda Meir?
3. Seculars also oppose partisan political manipulation.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.09.11)
One needn't to be religious to oppose the endless blatant partisan political manipulation of the Rabin memorial. Let's start with a real investigation into Rabin's death and find out what really happened. We can't believe the "lone rightist assassin" theory when there are hundreds of serious inconsistencies. Israelis are fed up with being manipulated. And it's not only the religious.
4. We remember because...
Tara ,   Kiryat Arba, Israel   (11.09.11)
Alon, We hold remembrance for Rabin because he was an elected Prime Minister of the state of Israel who was murdered. Just as we remember Gedalia on Tzom Gedalia... (a murder which happened many many many more years before Rabin's murder).
5. Alon Frank
Daniel ,   Tel Aviv   (11.09.11)
Very sad people like you are not able to read an article while understanding its content. Rabin was murder by a member of the extreme right. Golda and Ben-Gurion died of a natural cause. Very sad Alon.. Very sad
6. Yes, sad memory
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (11.09.11)
Politically, I was not a supporter of all of what Itzkhaq Rabin did. However, I mourned his death, and acknowlege that he gave much of his life and energy to the nation and people of Israel. I see no right or left, religious or secular issue whatsoever. I lament the murderous, anti-Torah heart of the man who took Rabin's life. I have no problem disagreeing respectfully with any man. Rabin's death was murder, and no man who could slay his nation's leader can be counted as a Torah Jew by any definition that I know. I know of no Torah Jew that I could count among the men and women of Israel who took joy in the assasination. Nor do I beleive that Israel is a divided nation just because we hold many opinions and divergent ways of life. Honour Rabin's memory by leaving petty politics out of it. When Rabin died I watched a star fall out of heaven, from my window. I had no idea what had happened. I turned on the radio, and heard the news. This Likudnik experienced nothing but saddnes.
7. NOT POLARIZATION
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (11.09.11)
The fact is that the religious public does not get brainwashed as much by the media, because they spend less time in front the TV or on mindless news websites. Besides that many people are getting tired, off the milking of this event, to further the secular Zionist agenda. Murder is wrong, but Rabin was no angel nor the Meshiach, he was a politician, with all its pitfalls.
8. Thank you #6
Ros ,   Tel Aviv   (11.09.11)
It was a shocking day because he was a simple man who loved his country and its people and would never believe that he could be attacked by anyone - albeit by a Jew. and this ______ has never shown one day's remorse - did he think he was going to be a hero!!
9. If only the left weren't politicizing his death and legacy
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (11.09.11)
As much as I may have disagreed with policies Rabin pursued in his last years, I recognize what he did for his country. There are many countries where the gun has a place in politics; Israel should not be such a place. But immediately after his death I saw how the left chose to polarize and demonize, as when Rabin's widow refused a condolence call from Netanyahu, but *did* accept one from Yassir Arafat! One sees that politicization as the left ties his peace efforts with their own agenda, though he would be appalled at the positions the left is promoting in his name. I saw it too three years ago when serving as a Sar-El volunteer at an IDF base. The evening activity on the anniversary of his death promoted him as just short of a martyr for peace. I had to openly challenge so blatant an agenda.
10. Remeber Altelena, yeah so do I.
Josh   (11.09.11)
The attempt of the government to use the assignation as more than it is really says a lot. The man shot Jews under a white surrender flag. Enough said.
11. stop this farce
Sara Levi   (11.11.11)
I feel sick when this farce of "Rabin heritage" is used by some people that casts shame on our great leader Itzhak Rabin. The exagerated number of memorials, sites and institution named Rabin caused the oposite feelings of the respect He really deserves. I admired his modesty and leadership.
12. "26% religious very affiliated + 39% religious somewhat
hippocrates ,   earth   (11.11.11)
affiliated 65% who have some affiliation with the day. thats compared to 65% of secular and 61
13. Rabin
michaelpielet ,   israel   (11.11.11)
Rabin a failed prime minister. Rabin who implemented policies that resulted in the deaths and maiming of thousands of israelies.
14. Rabin
Dean Wormer ,   faber college   (11.11.11)
yawn, more rabin narishkeit, yes it was bad ,he was also wrong and corrupt, and here in LA I cant take so many freaking israelis who have fled in order not to do army service.None of them wear a knnited kipah and guess what, they aint coming back.
15. 26% of the religious is a lot
Varda Kaminsky ,   Haifa' Israel   (11.11.11)
I was happy to read that 26% of the religious people in Israel ARE mourning the murder of Rabin, despite the very right-wing atmosphere in their society. That's much more than I expected. I hope these 26% will also manifest themselves in other ways.
