The article refers to the 1930's as the beginning of the time when Jews fled Iraq. However, my husband's great grandparents left Iraq around the time of the the first World War, and because they left homes and and successful businesses, one can only assume that the anti-Jewish activity must have been taking place even then.

I am Iraqi Jewish by heritage. Jews were always marginalized and discriminated against; special taxes, repeated violence (rape common enough that houses required steps down in the entrance so horse-mounted soldiers did not storm them), Jews excluded from military and specific economic sectors. It was a thriving community and historic center of spirituality and global influence (Baghdad was 20% Jewish in the early 1920's), but it was far from paradise and brotherly love. Google the farhud for pogroms that were common every generation or so. I'd love to visit one day, but I like my head attached to my body.

Every f..king muslim country is buildt around apartheid. And the western world continues to allow islamic immigrants from these muslim countries.While their own governments do everything to make life miserable for non-muslims in the country they have left. And the western leaders are blind, because most of them are leftist politicians with islamic agenda...

Why not Israel?

Almost 75 years after the end of WWII and more than 60 years after hakamat Medinat Israel, some Jews still have to hide their identities from other, like a 16th century marrano or a 1941 Warsaw Ghetto prisoner! Unbelievable! Some organized effort should be made by Israel and international jewish organizations, in order to get these folks, these remnants of a gone past and to bring them to Israel or to other free country, so that they can join relatives and friends and can live a meaningful, rewarding life!!!

Israel will be stronger and safer with a strong European Jews majority.

i am a muslim iraqi , and i realy felt sad when i heared that only 6 persons are left in iraq from the jewish minority ,iraq has been always rich by its diversity , i wish the time will come when all our ppl abroad will return home safly

All rich and well known Iraqi Jews immigrated to the United Kingdom, Switzerland and the United States because they did know who is rulling the New state called Israel.
