2. Freedom of Speech Not So Free.
Shimon ,   Cincinnati, USA   (11.07.11)
A just mechanism exists for slander and libel. This "Law" is meant to suppress free speech, much like frivolous law suits do, by intimidation. This must be resisted strenuously resisted if you are to remain free.

4. Thanks, another talking point for the enemies of Israel
Norm ,   Minneapolis, MN, USA   (11.08.11)
The subject heading was meant to be sarcastic. I am not an enemy of Israel. I'm not so sure about those pushing this legislation. Your making it harder and harder for your supporters in America. We try to tell people your a democracy. Do you even know what one is? No freedom of speech; No democracy.

6. This law would only publishing clear lies
ChaimT. ,   Jerusalem, Isael   (11.08.11)
This law is designed to prevent the press from lying about people, organizations, etc. If what is stated in an article is clearly not true, and is damaging to the individual or group, that is DEFAMATION. In this case, those who have been defamed, should be able to sue those who are telling lies about them. Why do people have a problem with this? It does not prevent free speech, or freedom of the press. It merely means that the press will have to be more careful, and not publish unfounded allegations, or anything else that there are no fats to back it up with. The Israeli press, especially YNET frequently publish outrageous allegations against those they differ with politically, such as the religious and anyone right of center politically. I have nor problem with revealing truth, but when it's not the truth, they must compensate those that they have damaged.
7. whats the buzz
Falcon ,   Maryland   (11.24.11)
Great bill. Freedom of speech is not freedom to slander. Tell the truth and be safe!
