The point of an Israeli attack would not be to destroy the Iranian nuclear program. It would be to buy time. Israel considers anything that could buy time against an existential threat a worthwile endeavour. Israel cannot destroy the Iranian nuclear program, but it can cripple it and set it back by a few years.

Then you go in with conventional weapons. If civilians die, so be it. Iran's leadership is not normal. A conventional war will cost too many Western lives. It's time for Iran to reap what it has sown for thirty-two years.

But that is not going to happen. "World opinion" does not exist. There are 7 billion people in this world.
