Just like the French, the English are giving in to their arab rabble because they are afraid of reprisals. The terrorstinians win before the battle is even engaged.

I love it how Hague and everybody else cocerned call for Israel to resume negotiations and NOBODY calls the pals to come and negotiate. The pals walked away from negotiations many times in the past and NOBODY blames them.Everybody blames Israel .can it get more absurd then this???Are these western diplomats sane or just lost every sense of reality?
6. What's not mentioned in the article was Hague saying...
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.09.11)
"Israel needs to go a lot further than it has up to this point". He has apparently forgotten Barak offering Arafat everything including the Old City and Temple Mount. They had their chance...oh well.
7. UK to abstain on UN Palestinian sate.
John Michael Hart ,   England   (11.09.11)
England you have lost your backbone, you make me ashamed to call myself English ( sorry forgot thats not politically correct. Let me correct that, British, even though british is not a nationality, English, Scottish and Irish are though.). I stand with Israel.
8. Hague's problem
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.09.11)
The problem with Hague is that he started out as a politician when a boy,he only knows politics and he sees everything in terms of politics. At the moment he's walking a fine line between the US administration and appeasing the evil Arab supremacist League. For Hague, balance is everything,so even though he ultimately has to support the US and Israel,he has to couch it in terms that blame Israel. This very bright man has become a big disappointment as a Foreign Secretary and is starting to look very sad.The sooner that he's replaced with somebody more rounded and experienced in the real world, the better. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
9. Wait till Scotland is free & becomes the new Gaza
John Phee ,   Sydney, AUSTRALIA   (11.09.11)
10. what did you expect??
chantalle.ezer ,   Frankfurt Germany   (11.09.11)
open support for Israel is hardly found nowadays. The UNSC vote is not worrying me. The statehood bid will not be successful. Worrisome are statements from Hague and Juppe that they will support Israel in the case of emergency, i.e. how much Jewish blood must be shed before they consider it an emergency? Again 6 million? 11. Hague has bizzarre understanding
Carl ,   USA   (11.09.11)
He is urging Israel to resume negotiations when Abbas is the one who refuses to engage in direct talks. It is Abbas who has conceived this elaborate UN plan precisely to avoid negotiations. Why does the world continually refuse to apply pressure on the Palestinians where it rightfully belongs?!
12. Abstaining - how very principled
Nate ,   Los Angeles, USA   (11.12.11)
I see the backbone of the British political system hasn't strengthened much since they abstained on Partition in 1948. Or since they gave away Jordan to the Hashemites, and refused entry to the Jews fleeing the Nazis. It's been all Chamberlain, and no Churchill.
