1. The American taxation system encourages this.
Michael ,   California, USA   (11.14.11)
Companies can keep their earnings outside the U.S. and thus avoid paying taxes on those earnings. It benefits the companies not to bring profit money back. Unfortunately, this adds to the unemployment here. Capitalism at its "best" through screwing the American economy. When someone in America will speak out against it, someone in Israel will certanly label them "anti-Semites."
2. no 1 - your not an anti-Semites...

but you are brainless. Investment in R&D will benefit all western economies. Investing in a community of thinkers will NEVER cause unemployment over seas; if anything it will eventually increase employment, increase profits and thus increase government income in the long term. In economics the term is called the multiplier effect - and even you Michael will be part of this ‘effect’…
3. #1 - Wrong!
Jake in Jerusalem ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.15.11)
US tax law has long allowed multi-national corporations to keep profits overseas. US automobile manufacturers who make and sell cars overseas use their profits there to finance sales for even more new cars overseas. I worked for a computer manufacturer overseas more than 30 years that did the same thing. Nothing new about this. It also has nothing to do with Israel - and never did. It also has nothing to do with American jobs. See the banks and oil companies which make loads of money overseas and don't create jobs in the USA. Some antisemites, Michael in California, really are antisemites.
