1. Obama is sweating that Israel may act without informing him.
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.14.11)
2. Obama is going to "consult."
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.14.11)
Oh, yummy. The countries with which he is planning to "consult" have been doing their very best to deal sub rosa with Iran. Sanctions mean nothing. That's why Israel had to step up. Stuxnet was effective. Extremely so. As is Duqu. All Israeli -- the U.S. had absolutely nothing to do with it; given the tenor of the current administration, Israel would never reveal its malware tactics against Iran. We saw how Obama shook hands with Mubarak a scant few days after he assumed office, and then promptly dropped Mubarak off a cliff. No, we do not trust Obama. We know better. Israel also was responsible for this past weekend's devastation to Iran. There's more to come. But to credit Obama with anything is sheer folly. He is a chattering monkey, and incapable of taking positive steps to save civilization. That job, it appears, will fall to Israel. Don't worry. We'll take care of it, and -- given past experience -- we won't even expect a word of thanks. We ARE a light unto the nations. What a pity the nations aren't paying much attention. Perhaps we should just worry about ourselves and let the rest of the world worry about itself.
3. Netanyahu is the true face of Israel!
Ian ,   Germany   (11.14.11)
Otherwise Israel's end would be quite sooner.
4. Pigs & Monkeys work better than Iron Dome
Dindo   (11.14.11)
5. Obama, for the better part of his presidency, applied...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.14.11)
...appeasement. knowledgeable and experienced people in Israel and beyond tried to reason with him, but his was: refrain from settling in villages, towns and city neighborhood of your capital city because this is "linked" to the nuclear armament in which Iran is involved; an approach that reminds one of that advocated by the likes of the Rev. J. Wright, Min. L. Farakhan, and the Profs. E.Said and R.Khalidi, all close associates of the present occupant of the oval office. Now, that Iran is nearly ready to finish the job, the president talks about "enormous bite", yet still not the destruction of the means with which the Iranian regime plan the demise of America's oldest, closest and most loyal ally in the region, and with it the nearly six million Jews in it.
6. only 1 question: did u stop iran?
rick ,   walnut creek   (11.14.11)
the American president can talk all he wants about the effects of sanctions. there is only one test about their effectiveness and the effectiveness of every other strategy and that test is: did it work to prevent iran's weapons programme? that is the test by which Obama, himself, will be judged. if Obama fails this test, he will have broken his word and he will be remembered, for as long as human history is written, with scorn and with disgust. [he was not elected president to shrink before this obvious and preventable threat.]
7. Colin Powell is wrong
Matt   (11.14.11)
In my humble opinion, no enrichment, the US has done this a few times sometimes it works ok, Vietnam, other times DPRK no so good. This time we do not need the 40 years in between. We remove the nukes, the DPRK say they are going to give it up, now there has to be a nuclear armed submarine off the coast. Diverting resources.
8. Keep dreaming ,...
split ,   US   (11.14.11)
No one in their right mind in Europe or Asia will support more sanctions and harm their already stressed economies that depend on acces to affordable oil and gas that Iran provides to them.
9. Obama.....
tombaka ,   poinc. florida   (11.14.11)
That man is so full of crap it's coming out of his ears. Thank goodness for leaders like Netanyahu who makes stands againt tyrants and knows what needs to be done to handle it. Obama is only worried about one thing and that is the election in 12. He could care less about Israel.
10. Obama is the only person who is politicking right now.
Steven Wilson ,   Anchorage, Alaska   (11.14.11)
He has totally alienated Israel and Netanyahu with statements . He hasn't done a thing about Iran until it got close to an election......and then...he only talks about it. He needs the Jewish vote don't you know. Water boarding is a great tool. We quit throwing them out of helicopters after Vietnam. Obama can't make a decision to go to war.....his party is a bunch of left wing anti war flower children reliving the 60's. You can bet if Obama's child had been kidnapped by Al Qaeda...he'd be helping the CIA water board the terrorists himself.
11. Are we a bunch of idiots?
David ,   On this planet   (11.14.11)
..Obama expressed confidence that Russia and China in particular understand the threat a nuclear armed Iran would pose, and said their leaders agree that Iran cannot weaponize its nuclear power and trigger a nuclear arms race in the region. HELLO!!!!! Those two nations are the ones who are supplying, building teaching and helping Iran be a nuclear nation with catastrophic aspirations . Are we suppose to swallow this nonsense.
12. To 2 - What Happens Sarah?
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (11.14.11)
What happens if Iran believes your post and decides to make a nuke in some secret location? Your post says that Israel is already making war on Iran. So do you expect them to make war back or just sit and take it? Are you old enough to remember when Khrushchev had nukes parked off Miami? Are you just itching for that kind of confrontation? Are you ready to storm the beaches in Iran and search for some hidden site? Know where they all are? You want to take on China and Pakistan at the same time too? How many million will it take to find all those hidden sites in Iran? Or do you just plan on nukin' 'em til they glow? And then telling Lieberman to talk all the downwinders out of retaliation for their downwind dead?
13. Obama has put the national interest of
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.14.11)
the US under the Iranian boot...I just wonder, WHEN he will be booted...???

Arthur ,   SF, CA   (11.14.11)
at night....
15. Sanctions only hurt the common people
Sorry ,   Now way   (11.14.11)
They never even come near the leaders or revolutionary guard. Another example of Obama dilusion.
16. #12 Mark of Lewiston
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (11.14.11)
Do you think, the world will be a better place if Iran has nuclear weapons?
17. Yes, appeasing coward - we know
Israeli 2   (11.14.11)
all about those enormous bites. It is business as usual. Unesco's funds withdrawn for three days then reinstituted. PLO's funds withdrawn for three days then reinstituted. Sanctions = no sanctions
18. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.14.11)
Can you spell "Saudi Arabia?" Can you spell "Kuwait?" If the destruction of Iran is the carrot dangled before the aforementioned horses, trust me -- they won't be able to get the oil out of the ground fast enough. But oil -- isn't that why NATO got involved in Libya in the first place? That would be Europe. Asia? Hello. Can you spell "Brunei?" So much for your idiotic thesis. Why don't you go back to reading comic books and playing with yourself, and leave the intellectual analyses to those that actually have an intellect.
19. To: David at No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.14.11)
I stopped believing anything Obama said a long time ago. He's got a private agenda -- a scurrilous one at that. He is also the most inept, incompetent and idiotic "president" the American people have ever voted into office. Like all egocentric narcissists, he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. Well, he isn't. That much has been proven.
20. ***Sarah***at19, To put it plain and simple,
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.14.11)
he is an IDIOT...!!!!!
21. To: Chris at No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.14.11)
Yes. That would about sum it up.
22. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.14.11)
I have no doubt that had it been up to you, you would not have bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I am sure that you would have been more than willing to sacrifice the lives of two million American men in a conventional invasion of the Japanese home islands. You are among the most hypocritical of individuals whose "contributions" to this Forum it has ever been my severe displeasure to read. If you do not recognize that Iran represents the single greatest threat to civilization ever -- well, then you are a fool, and a blind one at that. If saving civilization means "nuking 'em 'til they glow," then yes, it is a step well worth taking. I wouldn't worry much about China or Pakistan. Pakistan has nukes, but it does not have delivery capacity. China won't do anything, because they are far too busy worrying about North Korea (for good reason, I might add).
23. Sarah at 18 ,...
split ,   US   (11.14.11)
Like I have said, keep dreaming ,... 'Beijing has worked to ensure United Nations sanctions on Iran do not imperil its energy investments and oil and gas purchases' 'The volume of imports in the first seven months of 2011 rose almost half on the year. At nearly 560,000 barrels per day, the flow was about a quarter of Iran's crude exports and is worth some $20 billion a year' ,...

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.14.11)
I wonder what would happen to China if the United States cut its grain exports -- China is the single largest recipient of United States grain. Do you suppose they could drink Iranian oil?
25. PRESENT AMERICAN ADMINISTRATION.
SJOERD RUURD VDV ,   MULTIVERSE   (11.15.11)
THE PRESENT US ADMINISTRATION AT FIRST SHOULD CONSULT THE GA OF THE UNO AND LET THE GA OF THE UNO DO IT''S WORK FOR THE REASON WHY IT HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED IN 1945 IN THAT CASE.
26. 16 Albrecht - No, Not a good Idea
Mark of Lewiston ,   USA   (11.15.11)
Nuclear war is not a good idea either.
27. 24 - Keep wondering ,...
split ,   US   (11.16.11)
Meantime they're going to buy our grain, finance our deficit and keep buying Iranian crude oil ,...
