Sadly...me To Salma: Of course sanctions hurt innocent people But whats the alternative to dealing with that crazy buffoon hell bent on attacking Bahrein, Kuwait, The Arabian Gulf, the USA, Israel, France, Germany...when NO COUNTRY I repeat NO COUNTRY has made any threats to its existence That crackpot has all but decimated the Iranian economy and peoples standard of living, destroyed all credibility in his experiment in fascist theocracy, undermined Sunni Shia unity and to cap it all wants a nuclear bomb! What an utter walking disaster... This must not be allowed to divert attention from that all the work that has to be done to foster Israel Arab understanding and the creation of a Palestinian State

Food prices, GFC, if Iran was going to collapse it would have, like Syria. If it has not happened over the last 5 years it is very unlikely to happen. You are not going to get the harsh sanctions via the UN so you have to be sneaky and creative. We have kept oil below $100 US a barrel after the bubble was burst. They are still there and in power and still going nuclear.

If North Korea's ruthless leadership was able to sustain all sanctions (thanks to China & some other countries) in spite of near starvation conditions in this poverty stricken country, there is no hope to hold on believing a oil rich country like Iran (with support from Russia & China) held tight by no less ruthless leaders will buckle under any sanction the West may come up. Too many "experts" dreaming of the illusory easy way out in facing the Iranian threat which is a lot more dangerous than North Korea. The latter's leaders only try to hold on to their priviledges & have only financial objectives in selling their nuclear technology to other rogue states. The Iranian leaders, on the other hand, have extreme religious & political expansionary ambitions beyond their borders. They not only want to keep their power even through fraudulent elections & by crushing any internal opposition, they also want to impose their brand of radical Islam to other countries & we know they are not delicate in the ways they deal with obstacles on their path.

No international economic sanctions will stop Iran from reaching the nuclear threshold. Anyone who says differently needs to get rid of the 'special pills' he's taking. As long as Russia, China and Germany continue cooperating with Iran, nothing will do, but a direct military attack on Iran's nuclear installations.
