1. Money
Worried   (11.17.11)
Money should be spent on Jewish education because without it there will soon be almost no Jews left. It should go to support day schools which nowadays a lot of people cannot afford. Non-Orthodox Jewish kids attend public schools, often have more non-Jewish friends than Jewish ones, and go to activities at the local Jewish centers which have plenty of non-Jewish members too. So how can you expect our young people to marry other Jews when most of their life is spent with non-Jews?

Oh, it's far worse than that. The single greatest recipient of UJA/Federation funds is the NAACP. What happened? Did the United States all of a sudden run out of professional black athletes earning millions of dollars a year? Why should Jews -- who should be worried by other Jews -- have to support the NAACP?

they are better at acting locally than thinking globally--most of them are big 'progressives'

You are 100% right. In our Jewish Community Center, a young Jewish man met a non-Jewish girl and ended up marrying her in her church. Not that Jews have to be only with Jews all of the time, but a Jewish Community Center should be for Jews only because this is where many young Jews socialize. Of course, many will say that there are not enough Jews in their area to sustain the center, but that's because so many Jewish families have so few children, and on purpose. They often use their money on fancy homes, cars, vacations, expensive clothing, etc instead of having just one more kid than they had originally planned. And I'm not talking about the Orthodox who skimp on many extras in order to send their kids to good day schools and yeshivas. I'm talking about the non-Orthodox who usually do not give their kids a good Jewish education. It's all a matter of priorities.
5. These schnorrers groups are Jewish in name only
Al   (11.21.11)
they do precious little for Jews and Jewish life. Its time to cut them loose. A complete waste of time and money. I will never support them in any way.
6. To #1
Naomi C. ,   Israel   (11.22.11)
Most of these Jewish "leaders" have intermarried kids and non-Jewish grandchildren. You are right; more money should go towards a good and affordable Jewish education, and a REAL Jewish education - not a watered down Reform or Reconstructionist or whatever kind.
7. The American Jewish community
(11.22.11)
It is going downhill fast. I've read that many Jewish cemeteries allow non-Jewish spouses of Jews to be buried in them. What next?!
8. Goig by these talkbacks, the problem is quality not quantity

What a bunch of bitter and nasty
