just like with the Mafia, they hide in plain disguise !
32. So, how would explain the Scotish hate?!
Ayeush ,   Gibraltar   (11.16.11)
If you claim that Irish dispropotional disliked attitude towards the Jewish State, due to the primitive accusation of the Jesus Killer effect, how then would you explain the hateful Scotish politics towards Israel while they are not only not-Catholic but they are historically Anti-Catholic (see Northern Ireland : The Orange Irish Members are mostly of Scotish descent). So is the Catholic France, Italy, Poland..... No, the reason has to do with friend of my ennemy is also my ennemy: England...yes the English ambivalent, though clearly, Israel Friendly. So is the case of Canada....Friends of Israel because of Oil, and because of Obama politics Pro-Arab-Muslim World. That is how real politiks works! Find another modus operandi.
33. Passports
Joanie ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
Dear Israeli people, we, the Irish, will have some respect for your government when you apologise for stealing our citizen's passports and identities to commit assassinations in foreign countries. When you start acting like a real democracy then we will treat you as one.
34. Don't tarr us all with the same brush
Loopydub ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
I am pro-Israeli as are my family and most of my friends. Irish people are not downright anti-semitic, that's a vast generalisation and it's very ignorant. This article is not very objective really. There is a pro-palestinian sympathy in a lot of Irish people mainly because Irish people naturally sympathise with those who are occupied, having been occupied ourselves. A lot of Irish people don't know the full picture and understand the situation in Israel. We have a lot in common in our history, persecution and genocide - check out the Great Irish Famine on wiki.
35. To be sure, to be sure,...
Chris.B ,   Australia   (11.16.11)
It is good to see the Irish haven't all been manipulated by Hollywood propoganda and pro Israeli controlled media. I enjoy reading Yneters talkbacks beacuse they never face the issues only try to attack and discredit the origin of any accusations. The truth hurts.......

Met one in Frankfurt. A taxi driver and all foreigners. When he heard us talking Hebrew he started banging his hand on the steering wheel and drove like mad.

Well you obviously don't read Breaking News and their comments about Jews and Israel.
38. When it comes to Israel, I am ashamed of being an
John J. Dunn ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
Irishman. Reality here regarding Israel is much worse than Jews in general and Israeli Jews in particular can even imagine.
39. Jew Rassic Park
Arn ,   Yehud, Israel   (11.16.11)
Irish anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism has been endemic to Ireland seemingly forever. I still recall a cartoon published in The Irish Times in the early 90's showing a huge black dinosaur wearing a helmet with the Star of David chasing after terrified children. Underneath was the caption Jew Rassic Park. On the left side was written "60,000 years in the making" on the right "One Week In Destroying" - reference to Southern Lebanon. I still have it.
40. No friends
Ricardo Macher ,   Karnei Shomron   (11.16.11)
Israel has just one friend in the world: the US Congress. Not even the american administration likes us. France, UK, Brazil, Russia, etc. Everybody hate us. Are they wrong and we are right? It seems strange everybody is against us. Maybe we shoul reassess our position.
41. To: No. 21
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.16.11)
Angered, are ye? Blowing up British children is perfectly acceptable, but Israel is not allowed to defend itself? Oh, I don't think so. Too bad. Get another Guinness and suck it up. Wasn't too far long ago that Ireland was thought to have the most successful economy in the European Union. Well. That didn't last long, did it? Right back to being one of the poorest countries in Europe, and likely the next sodden and sorry member of the EU to declare bankruptcy. Still, the music is great. I LOVE Trad.
42. education
John Gallen ,   Dublin   (11.16.11)
At least we can spell 'uneducated' you uneducated racist moron
43. #32, You are VERY naive...ALL Christians
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.16.11)
have the antisemitic New Testament as their "holy" scripture...
44. Response to Paul from London
Amy ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
This is disgraceful propaganda. What kind of website is this that is acting to spread lies and racism? You should be ashamed of yourselves. As for Paul from London, you are a disgusting person

Sorry but Ireland is uneducated and influenced by the Muslims. Outrageous comments and lies are constantly aired about Israel
46. To: No. 23
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.16.11)
That would be wise. We are not exactly favorably inclined. Stay home; spend your pence in the British Isles. Lord knows you need it far more than Israel does.
47. Anti-zionist =/= Anti-semite
Dan ,   UK   (11.16.11)
I love the classical pro-Israel defence of labeling their critics as anti-semitic. Unfortunately, as the world grows increasingly tired of Israeli aggresion, it doesn't have quite the effect it had twenty years ago (especially when there's a growing wave of anti-zionism within the Jewish community). The demonstrators weren't dressed as Nazis, they were dressed as IDF soldiers. I understand the confusion (confusing Israeli policies with Nazi policies is a very simple mistake to make), but maybe you should include photographs for the more discerning readers. Response #22 was right on the ball - merging Ireland and the IRA into one terrorist group makes as much sense as labeling all Israeli citizens as Hamas bombers. That's the best comment I've read all year!
48. # 28, put down the bottle long enough....
Beauchard   (11.16.11)
..to read the article. It said the event where IDF soldiers were depicted as Nazis was sponsored by the Dublin City Council. It was made possible by state money. This is the whole point of the article.
49. not anti semite -anti human rights abuses
Ivor Sweeney ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
As an Irish Activist, I must stress our point of view and the view I think of many Irish people. We are anti human right abuse. And as a country that has suffered human rights abuses in the passed we can speak with some authority on the subject. We feel your policy against the Palestinians needs to be challenged. Peace to all Israelis and here's to a two state solution!
50. To #23
French dude ,   Paris, France   (11.16.11)
Go ahead and plan your trip. Don't worry, having been there myself sever times, i can assure you that Israelis are extremely warm and welcoming people. Most of the talkbackers here are very extreme and do not represent the majority. For that matter, very few of them ARE Israelis. Yesterday the French were all antisemites, today it's the Irish... Is there a single country on Earth which is not antisemite according to this newspaper? Save the US obviously...

It's Eire who should apologize, never heard a good thing coming out of the mouths of your Government re Israel. All you have is pure hatred. Irish girl in Israel.
52. ReplyNo#34
helga ,   rishon lezion   (11.16.11)
There is absolutely no comparison. Rockets were never launched from the North neither did you experience suicide bombers, so get real.
53. Helga no 51
Joanie ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
Helga I have read your talkbacks and I ask why you feel the need to lie. You are obviously not Irish and know nothing about Ireland as your ignorant posts show. Give it a rest as you are not doing hasbara any favours
54. ReplyIrelandNO38
helga ,   rishon lezion   (11.16.11)
I'm ashamed to say that I'm from Ireland. I can't discuss the situation here with my best friends in Eire as they have all been brainwashed by your media.

That's what I found when commenting on Breaking News when they couldn't argue they insulted me. As for spelling errors they also had enough of them.

helga ,   rishon lezion   (11.16.11)
Truth hurts doesn't it. Do you think the Irish papers are fair, I read them every day, pure hatred for Israel. Looking forward to a good debate with you on Breaking News soon.
57. Chris / 43
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (11.16.11)
Perhaps you need to read it again. There is nothing antisemitic in the New Testament.
58. Not anti-semitic but anti- oppression
Eamonn McKermott ,   Ireland   (11.16.11)
As an Irish person I feel the need to coment and clarify. First of all the article is totally one sided and selective. In addition the comments left by some people reinforces misconceptions, racism and ignornace. If you are not Irish or have never been there go and educate yourself before commenting on a country and people you clearly know nothing about. The vast majority of Irish people are not anti Jewish/anti-semitic or indeed anti-Israel. Our justice minister, Alan Shatter for example is jewish and no one has ever made comments about him. This in a country with a very small jewish population. It would be akin to a Roman Catholic being a cabinet minister in Israel. What Irish people are certainly against is oppression and descrimination which exists and occurs on a daily basis in Gaza and the West Bank. What Irish people would like to see is an independent Palestinian state living peacefully alongside Israel. So before you get hysterical and place illinformed racist and plainly false remarks....go read a book and make a meaningful comment.
59. Well done, Irish.
(11.16.11)
I'm glad they're standing up for themselves against Israel for once.
60. Ireland most dear driends of Palestinians : )
